So glad you enjoyed your stay. Looking forward to seeing you next year!
Great cottage, 4 bedroom with a nice living room and kitchen and big deck. It's got everything you need and its location is 11/10. You can't beat this beach, is my favorite beach ever. Balm Beach down the road and very friendly locals. This is an older cottage and it does not try to impress with new fancy decorations but it's nice and has everything a normal family would want.
We had a very comfortable stay. The cabin is not fancy, but has everything you need for a comfortable stay. We appreciated the easy access to a stunning beach, thoughtful additions like pool noodles and a beach umbrella, and the quick distance to town conveniences. It would have been helpful to know about the strong sulfur smell in the water, as that was a bit unpleasant to deal with in the showers. It would also be great to have access to more beach umbrellas as there is no shade on the beach. Overall a great stay and good value for money.

I am not sure when you booked but we did make a note of the sulphur smell in the listing description as soon as it became stronger. We are still investigating to see if there is a solution as all our cabins are on the same water supply, but this is the only one with the issue.
And yes, we should and will provide more beach umbrellas!
This year our annual multigenerational trip brought us to the is cottage that met every one of our needs.
1. 4 bedrooms for all our sleep needs
2. Stunning, quiet beach access within steps of our door
3. Functional kitchen for the cooking we felt like doing
4. Close to old school fun (go carting, mini golf)
5. Clean and comfortable
This is a true simple cottage that had everything we were looking for and we are so happy for this bit of bliss and memory making this summer!
Nous avons passé de superbes vacances en famille. Il y avait de la place pour tous. Malheureusement, le jet de la douche et l’odeur de l’eau n’étaient pas fameux.
La plage privée est magnifique et vaut à elle seule d’y revenir. Merci
We had an amazing time. Cottage meets basic needs but the beach and surrounding area is amazing.
Owners are friendly and welcoming.
Would definitely book again !
Me, my family really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was ok. Rustic outside but we were all comfortable. If there is one thing that off in this cottage is the water so make sure you bring drinking water other than that… we had the best time. 12-15 mins to walmart in case you forget something
The beach/view is across the road and we really felt at peace. We had our own area, quiet just how we like it. We’ve been to too many beaches and this one of the best. Fine sandy beach and water was just perfect.
This place is amazing simply because of the beach access included with the cabin. The cabin is a cabin, so make sure you set your expectations, however it has what you need to enjoy the beautiful sandy beach across the road! Recommended.
Good value - relatively inexpensive place and simple accommodations to enjoy a great beach and surroundings. The cottage is simple and older, but is good value for the rental rate. Willie is great and accommodating for any questions and check in/out. Private beach is wonderful!! Everyone is super friendly. Be aware that the water is “sulphur” smelling due to well water, so bring your own drinking water.
The place is beautiful, in middle of trees, with private beach..the Owner Stefan is so polite, and courteous with excellent communicacion.
Definitely we will came back!
We had an amazing time at this cottage. Location is fantastic with a private beach, friendly locals and a lot of kid friendly activities in the area. Cottage is exactly as shown so no surprises when we got there. The lake is clean and sand is beautiful. What more could you ask for?
We enjoyed our stay at the Sky Lodge. Ben was great and helpful, any minor concerns we had were addressed right away. The beach was amazing and beautiful, I think we spent the majority of our trip there. The cabin was fine, rustic but comfortable, as advertised.

Hey Andrew I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your stay :) Hope to see you next time!
Rustic, as advertized, clean with all essentials. Beautiful Beach with crystal clean water. Path from road to beach breath taking. Attentive accommodating owners. We rented two cottages to make room for 8 grand kids who had a lot of fun. so glad to not worry about sand on carpets or sofa's

This is a great basic cottage with everything you need. Spacious with access to a lovely beach.
This was our best cottage rental experience. One of the reviews cited dissastisfaction with the bathroom but everything is clean and is only the result of the minerals in the water. The very spacious cottage is across from a lovely private beach and a ten-minute walk from Balm Beach, a bustling little vacation town with its own nice public beach. Also close to walking and biking trails. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare your own meals. Gracious hosts. Will definitely return!!

Very basic
This is not a cottage, but a camp.
The bathroom isn't show in the pictures, and I understand why. The shower is discusting. One of the wall is broke and moisture starts. The water smell rust, my blond hair turn a little orange, as the shower wall.
The private beach is good. We had to borrow a rake to clean it.
We had the impression to pay too much for what it is. Won't return at this place. This place needs some repairs!

There were some repairs done since last season which included repairing a tiny crack above the shower head, and replacing a couple missing tiles. And I added a picture of the shower now.
We cannot do anything about the water. We are on a septic system. If the water sits for a while it does turn yellow due to the iron content. And occasionally there is a smell of sulfur. This is not chlorinated city water.
But as I try to say in my description- this is a basic rental - not a fancy luxury resort. It is perfect for those who appreciate being in nature and enjoying an amazing beach.

Last minute mid week rental
This was a last minute thought when I had some visitors from out of town. Given cottage country books up quickly I felt pleased to find somewhere for the four of us to stay. The Skyhouse is listed as a basic cottage - it is very basic indeed, which I was OK with going into the trip. Unfortunately, " poor shape" really should be the description. Floor tiles popping up, rusted fridge and appliances, water damage in bathroom. We were given half jug of drinking water, which did not cover us for 3 days and we could not drink tap water due to high sulphur and iron. It is a shame, because with a little fix up, the place could be really nice. So, for the last minute mid week price I paid, it seems overpriced for what you actually received.
Positives : private beach, walk to town and the use of the aqua lily pad were all big hits.

I'm sorry you were disappointed with the rental. The cleaning staff are told to leave a large full container of water, and if that was not so then "my people" are there to rectify the situation, and are steps or a text away should you need to reach them.
*****2018 note - we no longer provide drinking water and ask that the guests bring their own******
I spoke with them and they were not aware you were lacking water. My apologies again for not being more on top of this.
The "water damage" in the apartment is due to the iron in the water and it makes the shower walls and toilet yellow fairly quickly.
The fridge is in perfect working order but yes a bit rusty. We are in the woods and the moisture affects everything.
I know what the hotels and other rentals charge at the very crowded public beach and I still feel the price is fair for a 4 bedroom with a private sandy beach.

Beautiful spot!
Another wonderful stay at the Sky House. Great space for our group; steps from a beautiful private sandy beach. The lovely family who owns the property went above and beyond to ensure we had a great visit. It's our second year in a row staying here and we'd definitely go again!
