The house built in Year 2000, has ground floor and combined construction in rustic stone, wood, ceramic and with large glass doors. It has a covered area of 280 m2, T4 (with 2 suites + 2 bathrooms) living room with wood burning stove, in the bedroom area has a wood-burning cast-iron fireplace and central heating in all divisions has air conditioning. conditioning in the master suite. Next to the common room, has a glazed porch with panoramic view.
It has very large outdoor seating areas and all with exceptional views of the city and mountains.
The private pool area has a large lawn and is ideally framed in the landscape, because it allows you to enjoy a fantastic panoramic view and have complete privacy.
Access is via the A4 motorway (Porto / Marco de Canaveses 40Km) and the journey time is just over 35min.
This is the ideal place to be base to the city of Porto and some cities to the north, such as Amarante, Vila Real, Guimarães, Braga, Viana do Castelo, etc. All of them at an average distance of 55km and all with access by several motorways.

Family vacation

Nice place with a lot of space for our family with 6 adults and 4 childen. The children loved the pool and the ping pong table and the adults appricated the the amount of bathrooms and the spacious house.

Fantastic Rustic Setting with Views of Surrounding Hills

This house was really unique for us for its rustic look and use of natural materials. The beds were comfortable, and there was so much space to relax including huge patio and cozy living room. It might be a bit out of the way from the main road, but it made it feel like a country escape. We had a great time.

Lovely country home

Country home very nicely designed for multiple couples or families, beautiful pool area along with other available activities. Kitchen and gathering/dining areas very well designed. Local restaurants, grocery and other stores close by. Owner Alvaro was very attentive without intruding on our privacy. We would certainly like to return in the future.

Rather a small manor than a holiday house

This house is rather a small manor in the countryside than a traditional holiday house - the location a bit difficult to find but when found what a place!! - situated on top of a very hilly terrain with a magnificant view from the terrace over the Tâmega valley towards Marco de Cavaneses on the other side of the river. Excellant equipped with everything you need. Host very kind and communicative about everything.

Tranquil setting, well situated, warm welcome

The house, gardens, pool, views and amenities were spot-on for our two-day sojourn in the Douro. The owner, Álvaro, was very welcoming and extremely responsive (in fact proactive) when there was an issue with the electricity during a massive rolling storm. We took advantage of the pool, outdoor grill and the splendid patio. If you go to Amarante for the day I recommend taking the old road (N210) on the return to Marco de Canaveses alongside the Támega, GPS will suggest many other routes but this one is worth the extra 5 minutes or so.

Portugal hills

The location of this villa is ideal if you want to separate yourselves from crowds and drink in nature and peaceful views. An absolutely perfect setting to gather with friends or family and enjoy leisurely meals while overlooking a beautiful valley. I highly recommend this place and the host. The host is quick to communicate and was a gracious host the five days we were there. Unobtrusive and but helpful. If you get that chance to stay here, do! You won't regret it.

Fantastic!

This home hosted a large group of friends and family for a week. There were five adults and three young children and there was plenty of space and activities to keep us relaxed and happy during the week. The location of the house was also very convenient- about 30-40 minutes from Porto, Guimaraes, or the Duoro River. Álvaro is a wonderful host, providing excellent support and communication throughout our stay. Highly recommend. One of the few VRBOs I truly want to return to.

Great views and plenty of space

Three couples visiting Porto. The house is nicely laid out for 3couples, the views and property are beautiful and we loved the character of the house. We did not know heat wasn’t included and we had to maintain fires in the fireplaces through the night. It is not walkable to shops and restaurants, the beds and bedding are old and worn and we only received one hand towel and one bath towel per person. Also note, you should be prepared to bring everything, soap, shampoo, toilet paper, etc

Charmerende hus med flot udsigt

Vi havde et rigtig dejligt ophold i dette skønne og charmerende hus med en meget flot udsigt over dalen fra terrasse, stue og værelser. Vi var to voksne, to teenagere og to seniorer, og alt fungerede rigtigt fint for alle. Huset var godt udstyret med alt vi havde brug for, og der var pænt og rent. Der var rigtig god kommunikation med udlejer, som tog godt imod os, da vi ankom og sendte os godt afsted igen. Huset har en god beliggenhed ift. ture i området, bl.a. Porto, flotte borge og kirker samt Douro-dalen. Et hus som helt klart kan anbefales.

Dejligt og stort hus med mange faciliteter.

Vi ( 7 voksne og 2 børn) havde en fantastisk uge i dette store hus med perfekte omgivelser. Huset ligger roligt på en kæmpestor grund - og med et fint poolområde lidt på afstand af huset - med god sikkerhed for mindre børn. Vi nød de mange aktiviteter ved huset og de fine terrasser til alle måltider. Passende afstand til flere smukke byer med gode spisemuligheder og seværdigheder.
