Its extensive secluded garden (with heated summerhouse) fronts onto the River Derwent and affords excellent views of Ayton Castle (a 14th-century ruin) and the Forge Valley. Scarborough and the east coast are 2½ miles away, attractive local villages such as Pickering, Thornton-le-Dale and Helmsley are within easy reach. Shops and pub 500 yards.
