We had a lovely stay, the cottage was nice and the aga fireplace was a beautiful touch. Although I couldn’t light it. It definitely could do with updating the garden furniture, beds, and bits and pieces. The bedding was good quality. The welcome pack was a great touch!

A lovely homely and quirky cottage, perhaps not for you if you have any mobility / balance issues A great host
Small, cosy, clean property in a quiet location where we were greeted by the friendly host who told us where to find dog walks locally. Glorious sunrise walks with our dog and visits to Beamish, Bishops Auckland , Durham,Seaham, Ripon and so on. Stopped at Bernard Castle and High Force waterfall on the way home. We were lucky to have beautiful autumn weather. Didn’t light the impressive range in the living room. We shop nearby and petrol& supermarket within a short drive.Amost enjoyable week.

A fantastic cottage in a very nice village.
A fantastic cottage in a very nice village. The Cross Keys public house is only 50 yards away and has a great menu. The cottage was spotless with wine, chocolate mints and biscuits as a welcome from the owner James.
Everything there that could ever be needed for a holiday break. Very comfy beds, good quality pillows and quilts. Private road out the front so you can park right outside the front door. A great location for Beamish Museum, Durham city centre (take the park n ride) and the east coast beaches.
