For its uniqueness, you must remember that Alberola has no shops but Os de Balaguer, 9 Km south on the main road (10 minutes by car), has a bakery, butchers, delicatessen selling local produce, grocers, chemist, medical centre, bars and restaurant.
In Balaguer, 23 Km (20 minutes by car), you can find a range of supermarkets and a weekly Saturday morning market with fruit and veg as well as clothes and household goods. The regional hospital and health centre is also in Balaguer.
