Rook Cottage offers double and twin room accommodation.

Part of the west wing of our farmhouse, Rook is a light and comfortable cottage, which holds onto its rural charm with just a hint of contemporary magic. The lime-washed sitting room boasts a large woodburner, two comfortable sofas, wooden floor and bright cushions and throws. A TV, DVD and CD player are provided for entertainment.

The adjoining dining room has natural slate floors and a table which seats four people. A well-fitted kitchen offers lovely views over the pond, which is home to ducks and moorhens. Rook is equipped with mod cons throughout, including dishwasher, fridge-freezer, hob, oven, microwave and washing machine.

Upstairs, in the double room, there is a traditional style iron bed with the deepest mattress ever. Whilst there isn’t a straight wall or even floorboard in the room, it’s a haven for a good nights sleep. Next door, the twin room has a raised built in bed with a single alongside. For those feeling less adventurous, the groundfloor single can be pulled out to form a double bed, although it does take up much of the floor space – it’s just another option if needs be. The raised bed is accessed by sturdy pull out steps. Underneath is the “Den”, which is a perfect hideaway for little ones and has even been used for sleeping in on occassions!

There is also a bright and cheerful shower room with power shower, washbasin and WC. Outside, Rook has its own slate patio with table, chairs and barbecue facilities.

Rook has intercommunicating doors with Drake Cottage next door enabling you to combine the two cottages to sleep up to ten in 5 bedrooms.

Towels and bed linen are included. There is free wifi available.

Well behaved pets are allowed to stay in Rook Cottage. We charge £25 per stay for each pet.

Rook is one of five self-catering cottages at Great Gutton. At the farm we have a large indoor heated swimming pool and games room with DVD library, pool and table tennis tables and skittle ally.

Booking all or a combination of cottages enables a maximum group size of twenty two with opportunities to eat and socialise as one group. Great for special birthdays, family get togethers or simply to meet up with old friends.

Great Gutton Farm offers you a chance to escape, relax and unwind. About 40 minutes from both the North and South coast and with Exmoor and Dartmoor nearby it s a great place to start exploring from. The busy market town of Crediton is nearby and Exeter is only 20 minutes away with its historic quayside and superb shopping facilities. All the five Great Gutton Farm properties have well equipped kitchens and there is free Wifi in and around all.
