Maison De Lavende is the name to our beautiful house, hidden gem in an hamlet called Mazand, near Bessines-Sur-Gartempe, France. Holiday home for holidays to enjoy with family and friends . We have taken our time to build this home away from home, so if you would like to arrange a stay or wish to know available dates please get in touch.

The Maison benefits from:
An open plan kitchen living area with large central island, log burner.
Principle bedroom Suite with an open roll top bath and walk in shower
Oak framed exposed beams.
A further 3 double bedrooms, 2 with king size beds and 1 with 2 singles beds. Further bed on the mezzanine & the living room sofa bed.
A utility room including a washing machine and additional dishwasher.
All bedrooms have an en suite and also an extra shower room off the living area.

Sleeps up to 12 Adults using the mezzanine and living room extra beds, plus 2 extra fold out beds suitable for children. Travel cot available.

6m x 5m above ground pool with rockery around and stepped access for use between June to September.
A short walk away is the beautiful Lake Sagnat perfect for families as the lake has a small man-made beach and play area to keep the children happy. You can take a refreshing swim in the lake or have a romantic picnic. The lake really is a beautiful place for all to enjoy. Limoges airport is a 35 Minute drive. The Village Etape Bessines-Sur-Gartempe is a 5/10 minutes drive away / 30 minutes woodland/lake walk, 10/12 minutes bike ride, what a pretty Village it is, you will find cafes, local bakeries, a pharmacy and more small local shops.

The pool is above ground 6.57 x 4.57 x 1.31. Rockery around. For safety you should prevent standing on the edge of the pool sides, steps provided.

Family Holiday

This is a well equipped new house with en-suite bath/shower rooms to every bedroom. The area is quite beautiful and we enjoyed trips into Bessines-sur-Gartempe, and all the lovely lakes around. We were seven of us for most of the time and there was plenty of room and facilities for us. Although we were happy here and had a wonderful time there were a couple of gripes. We did not find the spiral staircase that easy for access to the upstairs and particularly to take our luggage up and down. The pool we thought could be dangerous for children and adults. it needed to be used just as a plunge pool really - and just in and out. No playing on the edges. (Not easy to get kids to understand!!) If you did fall the landing on the stones would be painful, and you had to sign a disclaimer as soon as you arrived. Neither my wife or I used the pool but the rest of the family did. We found some lovely walks in the immediate area and several times we walked across to Bessines.

Hi Richard I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. The staircase is spiral which is stated. Thank you for this info. The pool is an above ground pool so it not meant for diving or using the edge that is why we placed rockeries to discourage people standing on the edge. The pool is 6m x almost 5m so it’s a good size but I take on board your comments and make sure theses elements are clearer . Thank you so much for your review.

Séjour dépaysant.

Bon emplacement . Dommage qu’il n’y ait pas de volets occultants et pas de jeux sur place (table de Ping Pong , boules).Heure de départ pas très flexible

Très bonne semaine

Très belle maison où petits et grands peuvent être au repos, jouer, se promener. Les commerces sont à proche en voiture. Il manque tout de même des volets ou rideaux occultants dans les chambres et des gros plats pour pouvoir cuisiner. Il fait très chaud dans la chambre du haut. Avoir chacun sa propre salle de bain est un luxe quand nous sommes nombreux. Agréable séjour a bessines

Un très bon séjour

La maison décorée d’un agréable mélange de charme British et de vignoble français est très comfortable et lumineuse dans un vaste espace paysagé. Nous avons apprécié la vaste pièce de vie, l’intimité des sanitaires dans toutes les chambres, la piscine et les espaces extérieurs Qu’ameliorer : quelques équipements pour les grandes tribus ( des grands plats à four et un peu plus de place de frigidaire)

Superbe maison ! Tres agréable

Tout bonnement formidable. Un superbe accueil avec un hôte très conciliant. Un extérieur très agréable avec la possibilité de garer plusieurs voitures (4 très facilement). Du soleil comme des coins d'ombre (et une piscine) pour supporter les fortes chaleurs. Au cœur de la nature, notez que nous avons été confrontés à des guêpes et des frelons (notament le soir). L'intérieur est tout aussi beau, tout y est fait pour accueillir de nombreux invités (2 lave-vaisselles !). De nombreuses choses à visiter aux alentours, une balade jusqu'à l'étang de Sagnat juste dans la rue (avec un parcours sportif autour de ce dernier).
