An ancient country house in the heart of Umbria, Villamena is set among the green hills halfway between Rome and Florence and just five miles from Assisi, the home of St. Francis. The name comes from a famous engraver, Francesco Villamena who lived there. (1566-1624). Built in medieval times and owned by the family for century, it has been renovated using original materials to create exclusive very well furnished apartments, some of them with fire place, all of them with well-equipped garden.
The complex not only offers the tranquillity of the unspoilt Umbrian country-side, but also provides a perfect base for combining a sightseeing holiday with walks and hiking.Villamena is located 450 metres high in the hills, and therefore has amazing views over the hills that are partly cultivated and partly forestry.
The owners have prepared 25 exclusive itineraries,in three languages to share with their guests for walking directly from Villamena, or to visit other parts of Umbria such as Spello, Bevagna, Montefalco and Gubbio . Those who are interested in the Italian Language have the possibility of having individual Italian lessons taken by a qualified teacher.

Hallo, wir haben unseren Urlaub vom 24.6. - 28.6.2016 in der Nähe von Assisi wegen Krankheit nicht angetreten. Wir konnten ihn im direkten Kontakt mit der Vermieterin ganz unkompliziert auf den 16. - 22.10.2016 verschieben und haben entsprechend nachgezahlt. Nun wollten wir gern mit der Vermieterin Raffaella Covino nochmals Kontakt aufnehmen um alle Absprachen zu tätigen. Leider geht das nicht mehr, der Link ist abgelaufen. Können Sie uns bitte kurzfristig eine Kontaktmöglichkeit zu Frau Covino benennen, damit wir die notwendigen Absprachen noch treffen können. Andernfalls haben wir unseren Urlaub zwar bezahlt, können ihn aber nicht antreten, da wir keinen Kontakt mehr aufnehmen können und die Koordinaten der Unterkunft nicht haben. Villamena

Villamena is a lovely property and in a perfect location to explore the magical Assisi. It was lovely to meet the very charming mother of Raphael who brought us a delicious hot dinner of pasta our first night. Just what hungry travellers needed! They were very accommodating and a pleasure to deal with. Due to weather not perfect for swimming we didn't use the pool but the pool and tennis courts looked wonderful. We would recommend and stay there again.

Delightful place and hosts

Delightful property, lovely setting, very warm welcome from the owners, great swimming pool (as well as other facilities), many beautiful places to see nearby and opportunities for walking. Restaurant and small shop 1 km down the hill.

Wonderful hostess. Ideal for visiting Assisi. Large pool, lots of garden space and spotlessly clean appartment, fully equipped. We had a most beautiful relaxing holiday

Very nice place

Our family of 3 had a very nice week. Amazing place. Very nice apartment, well-kept pool. A lot of interesting places to see in Assisi and this part of Umbria. Nice place for cycling trips (especially Monte Subasio climb). Good restaurants in the area (reasonable price).
