We had an amazing time. Our host, aside from providing a beautiful home, suggested places to eat, sites to see and things to do. I could not think of anything that would have made our trip better. Thank you!

A Great Stay!
We had a great stay at 33 Deering Street. Frederic clearly put great care and thought into making this home welcoming and comfortable. Everything was top notch! It was also a 25 minute walk to almost everything you would need to get to. We would happily stay there again. Great for a family of 4.

Lovely downtown apartment. They thought if everything!
The apartment is well appointed and lovely. The beds are very comfortable, that's important to me. We arrived very late, so they left us a wonderful snack. The apartment is in walking distant to everything you need. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you!!

Perfect location, impeccable clean and great service
We actually stayed at this property for an entire month exploring Portland (even ending up buying a house in Portland). This place is spacious, clean and has everything one needs. The owner insisted to pick us up and drop us back off at the airport at no charge. We just felt very welcome and the location is absolutely perfect. We walked everywhere. No need to rent a car. It is so close to every day shopping, restaurants (great food and beer scene in Portland!) and bars. We would stay there any time again (well now we own a house there) and can recommend this rental very highly. And unrelated to this rental, Portland is just a great and friendly city to explore!

Thank you, Torsten,
We're very glad you enjoyed your stay, and delighted that you discovered so much to love about Portland, that you decided to move here immediately.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you and your lovely wife, Sally, and are very happy youre becoming fellow citizens of this very special city.
Sincerely,
Fredric
We stayed at Fredrik's property with our 2 children. There was a pack 'n' play available for us, which was great. The apartment is spacious and the layout with the smaller bedroom off of the master was perfect. The master bed was very comfortable, and the apartment had everything we needed for cooking and eating in--coffee, spices, all of the cooking implements, etc. We had a few questions and they were answered quickly and politely. We loved that we could walk to many of our destinations--our kids enjoyed pizza at Bonobo and playing at the Children's Museum nearby. It was also great to have a designated parking spot.

Beautiful apartment and Carolyn is wonderful
We were a bit nervous since this is a newly posted rental and there weren't any reviews yet, but thankfully we had nothing to worry about :) The apartment is beautiful, big and well-equipped with everything we needed, including laundry soap for the washer and dryer. Carolyn kindly greeted us outside in the rain to help us settle in. She answered all of our questions and we loved running into her around town. It made us feel like we had a kind local friend in Portland. Knowing she lived in the building gave us piece of mind too. The location was great for walking everywhere (shops, museums, restaurants, old port, etc.) We started looking for a rental only a week before our trip and felt really lucky that this was a new listing that met all of our needs. We were 4 adults and 2 little kids. Two adults slept on the sofa bed, two kids in the 2nd bedroom and 2 adults in the master bedroom.

Great location, a gem. Surprisingly great interior!
Our honeymoon spot - This property was excellent. Don't be afraid of the back stairs and think you were fooled, when you open the doors to the bedroom you get it. Wonderfully furnished, the most comfortable bed you can find, a limitless supply of fluffy towels, and champagne and cheese as a welcoming gift. 5 different live flower arrangements and just the perfect things to give it an extra touch. Fredric lived here for 2 years so you can tell it has been tried and tested, not hastily done. He is a perfect host. Called us several times to give us sample itineraries and good restaurants, checked in on our check in, and even gave us some medical supplies and advice to get us through the airport during COVID-19 (he is a doctor). Hands down the best host I have ever had for a rental experience. Thanks again Fredric!
Also we recommend Luke's Lobster and Hi-Fi donuts. Both a little walk from the place 🙂

Thanks for the great review, Shane. So glad you and Lauren had a chance to enjoy 33 Deering Street before we shut down this wonderful short stay rental
Fredric is an amazing host and was so welcoming. Their place is gorgeous and so chic. One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Close to everything and the off street parking was a nice bonus. Would give it 10 stars if I could. Thanks, Fredric!
Our family has stayed at a variety of properties over the years, and Fredric's townhouse is certainly at the top of our list. The spacious accommodations were trimmed for the holidays, the kitchen was well-equipped for cooking in, and when we chose to eat out, the location of the property afforded us a diner's dream of destinations - all within walking distance. Although we stayed over Christmas, Fredric was available for any questions/concerns. Thank you Fredric for a memorable stay in Portland.
We could not have been happier with 33 Deering Street - everything about it was perfect. Five stars isn’t enough to really show how nice everything was.
Lovely unit in downtown Portland. The place is beautifully decorated with many nice details from fresh flowers to a welcoming bottle of wine and cheese. We appreciated the dedicated parking spot and easy walking access to everything. Fredric, the owner, checked in on our first day to make sure we were comfortable and had many recommendations for things to do and places to eat.
Host was easy to communicate with, responsive and provided useful tips. The property is very nice and clean. Kitchen has basics such as coffee, oil, spices making it easy to eat in a few meals. The location is ideal in nice residential area near art museum and good restaurants. Waterfront within walking distance. Be aware that configuration requires passing through main bedroom to access bathroom. Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend the apartment without hesitation.
Perfect location. Communication and check-in process was easy. As pictured. The master bed was very comfortable with plush linens. Would highly recommend and would stay again.
My husband and I are still revisiting our great 5-day visit to Portland a week after returning to Connecticut. We stayed at this lovely older condo in a neighborhood full of period townhouses that remind me of Back Bay Boston. The property is on a busy corner at State and Deering, but the house is so well-built that morning traffic did not intrude on our visit. Restaurants and galleries in the area are top notch --especially the Portland Art Museum and the King Roll sushi place on the corner of Congress and State (the best sushi I've had outside Japan). I also liked being away from the tourist crush of Commercial Street which is within walking distance. It's all 5 stars. (I gave 4 stars for accuracy of online listing only because I think it's important to point out there that the townhouse sits on the corner of a very steep main street.) At the end of the day, though, let me say that I can't wait to return to this place.

Why they chose this property
Location, location, location. This luxury apartment is just a 5 or 6 minute walk to more than twelve restaurants, Longfellow Square, Deering Oaks Park, (Farmer's Market every Saturday), the Art Museum, the Children's Museum, Maine Med and University of Southern Maine. A quick fifteen minute drive brings you to beautiful Willard Beach or any of six other beaches, as well as Fort Williams Park, home of Portland Head Lighthouse, the oldest and one of the most picturesque in Maine. Drive an hour or two and you're within reach of more beautiful, scenic New England towns, beaches and mountains than you can see in a month So much to see and do, and 33 Deering Street is the perfect residence to enjoy it all.
