Self catering La Cateta for 2 people

The rural accommodation "La Cateta" is part of the Arroyovil Estate dating back to the 17th Century. Set among hundred year old olive trees and holm oak covered hills, you will be able to enjoy the total peace and tranquillity of the area. Just a few kilometres away, you will find the monumental Cities of Úbeda and Baeza, and the Oil Museum, in the Laguna Estate.

During the months of November and December you are welcome to join in with the olive collecting process, and try our own extra virgin olive oil "Conde de Argillo", some bottles of which are given to our guests as presents. La Cateta has an apartment for six people in the Sierra Nevada ski resort in Granada, which is only an hour away.

Good place to unwind and enjoy simplicity.

We loved the area. Away from all the hustle and bustle. Surrounded by lovely olive orchards. Thank goodness for the google directions as this cottage is very remote. Lovely though. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you. Now for some feedback for your future guests... We honestly were anticipating more interaction with the owners. Perhaps even a tour? We were greeted, shown how to use the stove then left completely alone the entire time. We did not have toilet paper. Had to buy it. The smell of sulphur in the bathroom was not pleasant. The lighting over the stove and in the living room we’re inadequate for cooking or reading. Sorry for offloading but thought it might be helpful for your next visitors. Thanks again for allowing us to stay at your cottage. Carol and Denise.

Beautiful, historical olive estate

Submerged in olive trees, this property was just as described, very private and relaxing. Our innkeeper, Rodolpho, could not have been nicer and gave us a private tour of how olive oil is processed and bottled, as well as the property's church. It was near Ubeda and other villages, an excellent addition to our trip to Europe.

La casa es, sin duda, impresionante. El trato dispensado por Elena, de lo más amable y cordial. Antonio nos hizo una interesantísima visita guiada por la fábrica y la embotelladora de aceite. Una estancia, en resumen, inolvidable que recomendamos encarecidamente. Lo único que consideramos mejorable son las indicaciones de acceso, algo confusas si no se conoce la zona.

Unos dias de descanso...

Estuvimos descansando en La Cateta esta Semana Santa con mi familia, y aunque no nos hizo buen tiempo, la pasamos estupendamente. Los dueños son encantadores, nos enseñaron la fábrica de aceite y nos explicaron como se producía, interesantísimo. También nos obsequiaron con una botella del aceite que ahí producen que es una maravilla. Muy cerca de allí esta el Museo del Aceite y también hicimos una visita. En resumen, que nos ha encantado, que en el sitio se respira tranquilidad y que tenemos pensado volver en otoño

Un entorno estupendo para ir en pareja

He estado esta navidad unos días con mi marido, y ha sido una maravilla. El entorno no puede ser más bonito, y además hemos coincidido con la recolección de la aceituna. Nos enseñaron como trabajan, la fábrica...todo. En resumen, un buen lugar para escaparte en pareja o en grupo! Volveremos en primavera que nos han dicho que hace un tiempo estupendo

¡fantástico!

Estuvimos mi familia y yo en La Cateta y nos pareció un lugar excepcional con mucho encanto, se respira paz y tranquilidad. Dimos largos paseos por la finca que la rodea y nos llevamos las bicicletas cosa que os recomiendo si os gusta, ¡una maravilla!, además está tan cerquita de Jaén que se puede bajar a cenar o a comer tranquilamente en alguno de sus estupendos restaurantes.Desde luego una cura para el cuerpo y la mente. La casa es una monada, tiene de todo hasta chimenea, y los guardeses te dejan pan recién hecho y bolleria a primera hora de la mañana en la puerta para desayunar cuando te levantes. Nosotros lo recomendamos. Margarita

Estupendo fin de semana

Estupendo fin de semana en La Cateta! Un paraje natural de olivos, si vais en temporada, como nosotros, incluso se puede ver la recogida de la aceituna. Nos han tratado fenomenal, la casa rural monísima y cómoda! Os recomiendo una escapadita a todos aquellos que os guste pasar un fin de semana en el campo, y cuando vayais, no dejeis de probar su aceite, una maravilla !!!

VAYA DECEPCION

Ibamos con una gran ilusión, después de contactar con los dueños en una prueba de aceite en Madrid. Hemos estado alojadas 2 familias en este pasado puente de los santos, y nos hemos llevado una terrible decepción. El entorno natural es muy bonito y tranquilo, aunque con accesos muy complicados, pero las instalaciones de la Cateta son pésimas, con humedades, frio, corrientes, averías en luz y agua y con multiples parches para disimular las carencias. Entendemos que para poder alquilar una casa rural a ese precio debería llevarse a cabo una amplia reforma manteniendo el encanto antiguo pero con instalaciones modernas, como por ejemplo se ha hecho en la casa de cortadores situada en la misma hacienda y que si reune las condiciones mínimas necesarias. Del servicio, solo se salvan las dos personas que residen allí permanentemente (ambas de origen rumano), que hicieron todo los posible por ayudarnos, que si tenían ambas casas en perfecto estado de limpieza y se comportaron de manera exquisita, no podemos decir lo mismo de la persona supuestamente encargada que no dio la cara ante los problemas. No todo fue malo, los que residieron en la casa de cortadores estuvieron en una casa rural buena, los que lo hicieron en la Cateta estaban en una casa semiabandonada, y como comentario positivo decir que el aceite que se elabora en la finca es de calidad excepcional y este producto si lo recomendaremos.
