Very nice cozy cottage with a gorgeous view. We had some beautiful weather for the time of year. Couple of great pubs and a couple of shops. 5 minutes from ferry port. You cannot go wrong exploring the islands from here.
We had the most incredible stay in this beautiful accommodation - everything had been thought of and it was so clean too. The views from the window over the cove were fabulous. We loved every minute.

Amazing location, right on the sea. The waves lapping under the window. Amazing view; watching the sunrise and sunset from sitting in the window. The cottage is like a gallery. The amount and quality of the art work simply astonishing; including a Leila Thomson 'mini gallery' of her renowed tapestry-prints and an Orkney chair! The cottage aesthetics are the best we ever experienced. And there is more. Everywhere you turn you notice a piece of art work e.g. ceramic coasters, individually painted mugs. So many small details that arranged with care and artistic taste. The living room window is like a painting of the sea as you looking out. The practicals: very clean; airfryer, very good selection of pots & pans and utensils; barbecue set; table and chairs to take outside; wooden bench under the window; very good shower that heats up fast and powerful, extra towels available; comfortable bed with sea view; adjustable heating; books and information about Orkney including maps; binoculars; parking on the doorstep next to the jetty. Excellent communication with the host. Lovely village with a fine seafood resturant, five minutes from the ferry (you can watch it coming in and out from the window); 20 minutes drive to Kirkwall. A bonus was the blue sky and sunny days. Overall, an exceptional, unique cottage for a memorable holiday. Cannot recommend it enough.

1 The Noust is a perfect haven for a quiet retreat and to explore mainland Orkney. The cottage is extremely well equipped, especially the kitchen. The storage heaters made the cottage just comfortable, without being 'too hot.' There are some lovely walks around the village and a local shop for any groceries required. The host provides excellent communication regarding booking, key access, the cottage itself and answered any queries within mins. For us, this cottage was a special find and we hope to return one day. Thank you Catriona.
Our first time to Orkney and it won't be our last. After a hard day walking and sightseeing this is such a wonderful property to come back to. Its got everything you need, beautifully decorated and furnished. Its all clean and it all works. Its a lovely cosy place right next to the water and with great views. Thank you Catriona!

It is indeed a special place with such lovely views , proximity to the sea and great connectivity. I am glad that you found the Noust comfortable for your stay
The property is a good size for 2 or 3. It's well situated right on the waters edge with a lovely fish restaurant clise by, and it's in a great spot if you're a Northern Lights watcher. The photos on the website don't do it justice - we would definitely go back.

This was such a wonderful trip - and the cottage is gorgeous. The window over the bay in the living room was a highlight - better than TV! We had everything we needed, and the cottage was beyond our expectations. We hope to be able to return.
This cottage is exactly as advertised. We enjoyed the location and view of the sea. We did have a little difficulty getting heat the first night but with Catriona’s instructions, it worked beautifully after it started up. We enjoyed having the washer, which enabled us to pack a little less and do a load of laundry half way through our trip. Kitchen was well stocked with all the items needed to make meals at home. We absolutely would recommend this beautiful place in “The Hope”!
