Wildlife We are fortunate to have many native animals around us , please be aware when you are walking or driving , you may encounter echidnas , blue tongue lizards , water dragons , shinks , land mullet , ringtail possums , and carpet snakes. .. keep your eyes open. There is also a wide variety of birdlife including the majestic sea eagles , Brahmany kites , tawny frogmouths , rainbow lorrikets , and honey eaters that love the grevillias and umbrella trees near the verandah , fruit bats at night .. and the VERY much less adored bush turkeys..
To the Beach It is only two minutes away ....the easiest way to the beach is a path adjacent to the side path / rear door ..down the stepping stones into the nature reserve , straight ahead , you can then proceed down the wooden bridge and across to the right and down the gravel driveway near the beachfront showers. If you would like to walk into town .. turn left when you reach Marine Parade proceed across to the BBQ area where you will see the beginning of the walking track. The track will take you over to the ‘Pass’ and from there you can follow the beach ( depending on the tide ) or go up past The Cafe onto the raised walkway adjacent to Lighthouse Road into town. If you would like to walk to the most easterly point , the Cape Byron Headland Reserve and the Lighthouse , turn and proceed along Marine Parade to the east where you will come to the start of the walking track. There is a map there to show you the rest of the way. Check out Little Watego’s Beach and its lookout , this grassed mini headland is a popular spot to watch the sun or the moon rise.

Carol and Grahame were great hosts, and the house has a lovely view over Wategos beach. The bed is comfy and the open plan kitchen, dining and living room had everything we needed for our stay. There is a short track down to the beach and coffee at Rae's before or after a swim was great. The outdoor shower was also convenient after returning from the beach.
Seahaven is a spacious and homely flat hosted by the friendly landlords, Grahame and Carol, who live upstairs. They gave us a warm welcome and then left us to it, making themselves available throughout our stay if we needed anything.
Everything is as generously provided, including beach gear and umbrellas and even mosquito nets for the beds to keep out the occasional intruder.
The location was ideal, just a few minutes’ walk to the beach and a few minutes’ drive or half an hour’s beautiful coastal walk to Byron town centre.
A memorable stay and we re grateful to Grahame and Carol for their excellent hospitality.
We had a delightful stay at the Seahaven property. The views were spectacular and the house was clean and well maintained. It had everything we needed for a great beach holiday.

Perfect for us
Accommodation was well laid out with all needs met.
A mud map to show entrance to parking would be a useful addition to the already comprehensive information provided. Parking and manouvering a large car is difficult and really the only slight negative of the whole experience. The proximity to the beach is 2 minute walk and the views from the luxurious varandah as good as anyone could hope for. We saw whales and dolphins and some fine surfing as well.
Owners left us to it which is nice when you are in a flat under someone's house.
All in all a great place to stay.
