The Mayor's Suite-Historic Downtown-Columbus, Indiana

3 bedrooms, 1 bath, living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen. You just bring your groceries. Coffee cart with Keurig. Coffee and supplies are provided. Luxury linens. Bath with shower and soaking tub. Balcony for seating two. The entire suite encompasses the second floor. Sorry, not handicapped accessible. No pets. No smoking. Free WiFi. The third bedroom is a trundle bed and sleeps 1 adult or 2 children.

Streaming cable, Prime Video, HBO, big screen TV. Beautiful home in historic area...The first Mayor of Columbus, Smith Jones, built the house in 1860. Then in 1930 another mayor of Columbus, Karl Volland bought the house. He turned it into a two family home, as it is configured today! Walking distance to shops and restaurants downtown. The library and the Visitor Center are just a short block and a half south of the house. Wonderful area.

Great location to access downtown Columbus. Owners were very hospitable. Comfortable bedrooms; the bathroom is a little small but overall convenient and good place to stay.

The property is charming and perfectly located. It gives you the sense of being part of the historic community. Quick walk to downtown. We would stay there again. Just a few items to be aware of: it is a duplex and the entire house is on the upper level, as you enter you must climb very steep stairs, there isn’t a dishwasher (wasn’t a problem for us - we ate out), the bathroom is teeny tiny, one of the bedrooms is at the front of the house and the bathroom is way in the rear of the house, the bathtub does not have any safety handles. Just items to be aware of when making your decision.

Gem in a wonderful town

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home is amazing and walkable to downtown. Truly adorable - 5 adults stayed here... Our host was also very kind and checked in with us.

Great Weekend Getaway

The home was cute, cozy, clean, and perfect for a short girls weekend. It was easy to walk to tons of shops and restaurants and our hosts were so kind and helpful. We had a great weekend at the Mayor's Suite and would definitely stay there again in the future!

Cute, Clean, and Comfy

We very much enjoyed our stay, even though it was a short one. The home was very clean and very cute. The beds were comfy, the kitchen was nicely stocked with essentials, and the location was perfect. The owners were very welcoming and friendly. We unfortunately had car trouble while in town and were able to find a place to help us out in an emergency. So relieved to be able to make our daughter's graduation in Bloomington on time! We would love to visit Columbus again to see more of the city and its architecture, and we recommend this property.

Great Location!

The house was very cute, plenty of space for our family of four. We were in Columbus for a baseball tournament, and it was nice to have room to relax after a day at the ball field. The location was perfect for dining, shopping the outlets, and we had an easy commute to Ceraland Sports Park.

The property was very clean and had nice amenities. One bed was hard but that is going to suit everyone differently. It was in walking distance to downtown which was very nice. We would not hesitate to stay at this location again!

Excellent Staycation!

The owner Bill was very friendly and even greeted us after our 1st night. He was informative about the local community and just a nice guy. The property was immaculate and cozy, filled with necessities, would have liked a tv or two in the bedrooms but the family room tv was ok for my son and I I would stay here again and will recommend to any friends planning to stay in Columbus

Welcoming

Hosts Bill and Janet took care of every detail and met us as we arrived, helping with luggage and answering our questions. We felt very comfortable right from the start! Brochures and such in the lobby were an added help in enjoying the delightful city of Columbus.

Adorable Historic Home

My friend and I had a girls weekend and decided to stay at the Mayors Suite in downtown Columbus. If you like old/historic homes, then I recommend! The staircase leading up to the suite is absolutely beautiful and the textured walls in the main family room are really unique! The owners were great with communication, very helpful, and attentive. A big plus is being within walking distance of the main downtown area of Columbus for stores and restaurants. Enjoyed!

Great Place to Stay

My husband and I rented Mayor's Suite for 3 nights. The neighborhood was very quiet and we enjoyed taking morning and evening walks. The rental was clean and well stocked. We used the master bedroom and found it very comfortable. Parking was super easy on the street in front of the rental. Being a historic home, the stairs squeaked. This was no problem to us, but hoped we didn't disturb the owners downstairs. Terri greeted us and checked to see if everything was alright. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The property worked for our weekend needs, the only bathroom was extremely small and the floors were very noisy/creaky. If you plan on using the trundle bed, don’t…the bottom bed portion only comes out about halfway and the bed is in a portion of the home that is very warm and has stairs to the backyard so would not put children there. Bring fans if you like it cooler when you sleep. If stairs are difficult for you, this is not the place to stay. The house was very quirky though and great location with easy parking.

Great location for walking to downtown Columbus. It was very clean and well appointed. The 3rd bedroom is a bit of a stretch - both of our kids were a bit freaked out by the outside access and staircase into the room.

Everything was just perfect in this beautiful, historic home.The space was described accurately and the kitchen was wonderful for cooking a quick meal. And check in was so easy. The location is wonderful for walking to all of Columbus' downtown sites and events. Our family from FL loved everything about it and want to come back in the fall for a family birthday!

A perfect downtown location, but on a quiet one way street. Once we arrived we were able to walk to restaurants, shopping, and church. We enjoyed the self-guided driving tour of the architecture and art, plus we traveled to the Mill Race Park, which was beautiful. We took the tour of the Miller House, which is a mid century marvel. The town is home to so many architectural landmarks, it is truly worth the trip. The Mayor’s House couldn’t have been better, with comfortable Queen bed, handy kitchen, and tastefully decorated surroundings. Highly recommend!
