I was going to my nieces wedding on Saturday. So I stayed here with my wife and brother. The location was perfect for walking to local restaurants and the lighthouse. I requested a few days ahead if the host had an iron and board available and it was there when we arrived. It was a great weekend escape.
We were in town for a wedding and this cottage was perfect for us! Adorable decor, clean, great location and good communication with the owner. Thank you so much for a lovely stay!
I loved the location and the cabin itself. Everything was spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and had everything we needed. I briefly had a nice exchange with the owner and her sister. Both were very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend a stay here!
Every little detail has gone into this rental and the group of rentals the owners have. Owners are friendly, cottage and property are immaculate, the location is safe, comfortable, and peaceful. Plenty to do and see in the surrounding area. Pet friendly. Overall lovely vacation. Can't wait to return!
Very sweet little cottage! Clean, well-maintained, obvious new upgrades, fully stocked with kitchen supplies & towels etc. Bags of ice in the freezer plus coffee, sugar & creamers provided by the host were a nice touch. Small sitting area with lake view was plenty, and our neighbors were happy to let us use their lakefront area. The park at Oak Orchard Lighthouse is a two-minute walk away... we brought our own chairs and spent a lovely afternoon on the lake. Cottage parking is just enough for one vehicle and we had two, so Judd gave us a good nearby option for the second one. Hosts are friendly, accommodating, very easy to communicate with, have clearly tried to think of everything to provide an effortless stay. Great breakfast at the nearby marina. Would definitely stay again!
The cabin was exactly what was advertised. The perfect size for two ladies looking to escape their respective chaos, within a few hours of Western Pennsylvania. It was great to be able to see the lake from our dining area window, and I enjoyed sitting at the table outside, with a lake view as well. I did think it was funny that there signs about conserving water, but then the shower is only big enough for one person (single stall, pretty tight--understandable for the space but the sign joked about pairing up for showers), and there is no dishwasher. Since our party had dietary restrictions, we cooked all meals during our stay (so lots of dishes to hand wash). Beyond no dishwasher, this was a really great spot for people on a budget, as long as you don't mind not having a place to sit directly by the lake's edge. Oh, and watch out for those bugs in the evening! Keeping lights off helped, as recommended. Very tidy, near some really cute local attractions, and serene overall! We enjoyed walking down the road to catch sunsets by the small pier. I would definitely consider going back! It would help to know when booking that multiple attachments need to be reviewed (3 or 4 documents sent, I think), as I didn't realize some of them had different information and had missed some details initially.
My husband, small dog and I stayed 4 days at this cute, clean cottage while attending a dog show nearby. The cottage has a great layout and comfortable beds. The cottage community is very friendly. The WIFI, BBQ, TV and AC work very well. The kitchen is well equipped and the huge fridge/freezer is a bonus. The small bathroom has lots of towels - thanks! Though a bit tricky to climb the rocks down to the water (bring water shoes), it was a pleasant surprise to find it only hip deep for a long way out. Highly recommended.
We enjoyed 5 days with this clean and cozy cottage as our "relaxing" place. Judd couldn't have been more hospitable, making sure we had what we needed. A beautiful setting with so many opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities.
Enjoyed the convenience of this cottage right on point breeze while at a soccer tournament in Rochester. Comfy cottage with everything you need. Beautiful view of lake but had no direct access to the waters edge. A short walk to the lighthouse gave our dog the opportunity to dip his toes in. The Black North Inn had delicious food and friendly staff! Host was easy to communicate with, would rent from Judd again!

The location was great for what we needed , very clean and well stocked with amenities.
My husband and I enjoyed our short vacation here celebrating our 1st wedding anniversary. The cottage was very clean and welcoming. The check in and check out was very easy with digital locks. It is perfect for two people. I feel like it would have been a little small for 6 people as there isn’t much room to store your luggage. You can see the lake from the front room. I wish there would have been a little deck to sit out on or that the cottage next door shared their lake front. The beach near by isn’t very nice to hang out but Hamlin Beach which is about 15 minutes away is really nice. Over all great experience.
