About this property

By The Bay - Blairgowrie

This lovely brick house is so close to the beach you can almost smell the saltwater. Just stroll past two houses and cross the road to the beautiful bay beach.

The 3 bedroom house is set up to be a great entertainer. The open plan dining and lounge area
(with Foxtel) works well with the great size kitchen which is well equipped for all your cooking and entertaining needs.

The whole yard is fully fenced, so there is plenty of privacy and plenty of room for the kids to run.
Out the back is a tranquil outdoor entertaining area. Under the large sail is the outdoor setting big enough to seat the whole family plus more.

The house is set up with different sitting areas so you can catch the sun or play it safe in the shade. A large 6 burner bbq is ready for use all year round.

The massive garage is set up like a kids / teenagers retreat area. Also great for those adults that like a bit of competition with each other. It has a dining table & chairs to play those board games on. TV and DVD Player, couches, dart board, air hockey table and table tennis table and pool table.
So if the weather isn't so good, the kids can go to their space and the parents are left in peace inside. There is also a basket ball hoop in the drive to keep them active outside too, plus other outside games.

The main bedroom has a queen size bed with a good size ensuite plus separate walk-in-robe. It has an 80cm Plasma TV with a built-in DVD player.

Bedroom 2 has a queen size bed and the 3rd bedroom has a double bed with a single bed bunk on top. Both bedrooms 2 & 3 have built-in wardrobes.

The Games Room couch is a queens size innerspring Sofa Bed. And with the bathroom there it can be a 4th bedroom with ensuite.

Porta Cot and High Chair are provided.

Altogether the house can sleep up to
9 people.

Due to the strict Shire regulations, we don't accept any bookings for parties, functions, or events, bucks/hens nights and no Schoolies groups.
Please note, this is NOT a party house, so please be mindful of our neighbours.

A Walk in the National Park, Swim, Winery, Coffee ??

The choices of what to do are endless.

Take a short walk past the Blairgowrie Marina up to the many cafes, shops and restaurants that Blairgowrie is known for.

A five minute walk up the road towards the back beach is the famous "Koonya General Store" where you can get your morning paper and a fresh coffee for the stroll home.

A couple of minutes by car and you are in the main street of Sorrento, where you have so much to choose from. Have a coffee or some lunch, maybe dinner and a movie. Otherwise just wear yourself out with the endless shops.

Being situated in the narrowest part of the Peninsula you have a choice of bay beach or ocean beach.

Walk up Huges road to the Koonya Ocean Beach. This is also the entrance to the National Park. The beautiful walking tracks in the National Park are there for you to explore the wonderful coastline that is " The Peninsula ".

Take in one of the many wonderful wineries for a day trip of tastings or take the Sorrento Ferry for a trip to Queenslcliffe for lunch.

Great for a family or two, the kids can bunk in together.

There are plenty of games, movies and books for all ages.

Family haven

Jo is a wonderful host. Her place is a home away from home. The play retreat area included innumerable toys in the cupboard, in addition to all the adult fun (pool table, table tennis, darts, air hockey). Books everywhere covering all genres was a lovely touch. And the kitchen was better stocked than my own! Highly recommend.

Entertainment Plus

We were visiting from the States to attend my Daughters wedding and the place was organised by the family. Did not know what to expect but was extremely pleased with what Jo had provided... even Vegemite :-). The games room was a great place form us to relax and we absolutely loved the wild life, saw a Kookaburra, and many other native Australian birds that added to the ambience of the place. Cannot recommend it more highly

What a great place! We have rented many houses in Europe, North America and Australia and this was by far the best equipped house we have stayed in. A well stocked pantry, no need to buy coffee, tea etc. A brilliant games room, kitchen utensils, beach towels - you name it, this home has it. Jo even put up a Christmas tree for the kids, and provided crackers and chocolates. A perfect location on the Peninsula, in a quiet neighbourhood. I was nervous about finding the right house for our Aussie Christmas, but I managed to hit the jackpot!

Excellent holiday house

We had an amazing long weekend with plenty of room for the family to catch up. I was impressed by the never ending array of staples, games, books and toys for every member of the family. My teenager (and the adults) loved the kids/teenage retreat and spent hours playing pool, air hockey, table tennis, not to mention the outdoor sports. All the little touches made our stay very special. We will be back

Very enjoyable stay. Property is well maintained, spacious, private and with everything a family needs. Appreciated the well stocked book, magazine and movie shelves and the broad array of activities in the games room for the kids. Outdoor courtyard was perfect to entertain while outside lounges were a great place to get lost in a book or magazine. Great communication with a very helpful host and only a short walk to the beach - this a property we'd be happy to return to.

Jo is a fabulous host who is super responsive, informative and generous, including any item you can think of. The house is meticulously clean, comfortable and super functional for our family of 4 (2 girls ages 17 and 20) plus 1 boyfriend. We used the outdoor table area for many meals at night, the front area to sunbake and lounge area was so relaxing. A great peaceful place to unwind for a week over summer. Highly recommend it!

Relaxing family getaway

Our short stay was restful and easy with everything we could possibly need at hand. Located a very short stroll away from the beach, the home was very clean and comfortable. Great family holiday place and location

We knew the location was great and that the house looked very good for our family before arriving. The addition was arriving and experiencing that the owners had thought of everything to make it a perfect stay for us - from the incredible games room to little details in the house like the coffee pods, up to date magazines, movies, books, baby monitor, right amount of bedding and the list goes on. Made for a fantastic family holiday!

The kids were constantly entertained with all the toys, books and games. This gave us the opportunity to actually relax and enjoy our children. It was only a quick walk to the beach. And the beds were very comfy. We will definitely be back to stay again soon

Fantastic house great for families

We had such a lovely time at By the Bay Blairgowrie over Easter break. The house worked so well for our group - 4 adults, a 2 year old and a 3 year old. The kids absolutely loved the "playhouse" which was so well stocked with games etc for all ages. The adults loved it too because it was a safe space for them to play. The adults loved the table tennis table etc too. Being separated from the main house it meant our adult friends did not need to be woken by noisy kids, we played out there until a civilised morning time. The house was very well stocked including the coffee machine which was very well used and included decaf pods! The house was really clean and the fenced garden was great for the kids to run around. Easy distance to lots of things on the peninsula. Lastly our host Jo was fantastic. Very prompt communication and went out if her way to provide an extra high chair and respond to a minor problem we had. Highly recommended

Perfect home away from home!

What an absolute delight this property is! More like a home away from home with everything you could possibly need. In 40 years of girls weekends away we have never come across such well stocked cupboards, pantry and fridge. So welcoming, homely and generous. The house is presented in immaculate condition and is in a great location just across from the beach in a lovely quiet suburban street and only a few minutes drive into Sorrento. All beds are extremely comfy and there is a wonderful supply of books, magazines and dvd's for all ages. Whilst we didn't spend much time in the games room, it would be absolutely perfect for families and groups alike......adds another whole dimension to the house and the experience. I cannot recommend Jo's place highly enough and she is an absolute pleasure to deal with and always quick to respond if you have any queries. Just perfect, thank you Jo!

Fantastic Beach House
