Welcome to Glen Isla — a beautifully restored 1885 weatherboard home in Wentworth Falls, offering spacious Blue Mountains accommodation for families and groups of up to 12 guests.

Originally built as a letting house for Sydney families escaping to the fresh mountain air, Glen Isla is still welcoming guests more than 140 years later. We’ve been hosting since 2013 and are proud to continue that tradition.

Very cozy and pretty old house with lots of character. Very comfortable beds each with electric blankets and large rooms, every thing we needed for a large group for a weekend. Host was very accommodating. Just a short walk from Wentworth Falls.

Glen Isla is a beautiful heritage home set in a lovely garden. It has off street parking for 5 cars and comfortable spacious bedrooms and living areas. Three bathrooms were ideal for our group and the property is child friendly. The combination of central heating and option of a slow combustion fire made the property warm and inviting.The property is walking distance to the lookouts and walking tracks at Wentworth falls and only 2kms from the village which has cafes and shops, with options for takeaway food or supermarket supplies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property to others.

We had a great stay at Glen Isla. Eight team members came together from across Australasia for our annual Strategic Planning retreat. The house was comfortable and well appointed and our host was responsive and helpful.Highly recommend for large family or group gatherings.

This property is ideal for a group stay and my second visit in 3 1/2 years . The kitchen is well equipped and the beds comfortable . It is however looking very tired and in dire need of maintenance (which I understand is planned ) and a good clean . Amy was super responsive at all times .

Glen Isla, is a beautiful, old style house in Wentworths, accommodates 12 people easily. We had six ladies so plenty of room. The host Amy, was wonderful, only a phone call away if we needed anything. She had firewood organised within two hours of us asking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely recommend Glen Isla to any groups wanting a beautiful Blue Mountains escape.

Fabulous property

Glen Isla is an absolute gem. There are lots of accommodation options but this place is a real stand out. It is truly beautiful, in a superb location, well maintained with everything you could think of to make your stay special. The owners are lovely and go out of their way to help. We will be back!

80th birthday celebration

good size property for the 11 family members who stayed. Good quality bed linen and beds. Felt the house was looking a little tired, maybe a coat of paint would freshen it up Kitchen was well stocked with crockery and cookware. We all enjoyed our stay.

Right from the start when booking Amy- the host was wonderful! Great open and clear communication and a pressure to liaise and correspond with. The homestead “Glen Isla” was equally as wonderful and had such attention to detail with the charm of a beautiful historic and lovingly restored home. There was nothing one could want for- everything was there and more! The hosts had auch attention to detail and thoughtfulness to make the stay truly special and memorable. Glen Isla is highly recommended and I will be letting my friends know how wonderful it is and should be a “must stay!” for anyone visiting Wentworth Falls!!

The PERFECT holiday

We had a special family event at Glen Isla it was perfect !!! The house has everything you could possibly want, the kitchen is very well stocked we had everything we needed to prepare a family feast for 14. We had 5 children with us that never once said they were bored. The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. I would highly recommend this house to anyone and will be looking forward to booking our next stay

Glen Isla was the perfect spot for our family Christmas celebrations!! We were surprised by how well-equipped it was with heaps of plates, serving utensils and the hardest working (and highly effective!) dishwasher. The beds were super comfy and everyone had their own space while still spending quality time together playing boardgames around the dining table and watching the cricket. The kids thought the garden was full of fairies and we were delighted by visiting black cocktaoos, kookaburras and king parrots throughout our stay. We took advantage of the location to go for lovely walks. A truly unforgettable Christmas at Glen Isla.

Proximity to Wentworth Falls walking tracks

A lovely, spacious, well equipped house. Perfect for 60+ year olds. A bonus was its proximity to walking tracks and a beautiful gallery. Lush surrounds. April a good time to visit as the sun is still warm. One fridge was not sufficient for a group of 8.

Amazing Stay !!!

We recently stayed at Glen Isla House for a family birthday and had a fabulous time. The house and grounds are completely charming and had everything we needed for a great weekend. The house is in a great location, very close to the Falls and is well appointed with comfy beds, a fully equipped kitchen, ducted heating and excellent stereo (good cd collection too!) just to name a few! The billiard table and dart board were a big hit with the family. The owner Amy is really lovely, so helpful, easy going and nice to talk to. We had a wonderful stay and for anyone looking at staying in the Blue Mountains I highly recommend this property. We are looking forward to another stay in the future.

Gorgeous cottage

We absolutely loved our stay here. Owners were fantastic to deal with. Cottage was very clean, well equipped and the location was incredible. Only oversight by us is that we didn’t realise until we arrived that the kids room is actually external from the main house (separate entrance to the cottage, not inside and upstairs like I thought). Our primary school aged children were too young to sleep in this space alone as there is no access directly from the house without walking outside and at night that is not ideal. This meant we had to change our sleeping arrangements to accommodate. Otherwise, this property was perfect.

Glen Isla is ideal for family or friend reunions or gatherings. The house is spacious and comfortable, the kitchen has everything you could possibly need, there are lots of entertainment options, the garden is beautiful and it’s an easy walk to the various lookouts surrounding Wentworth Falls. It's located in a whisper quiet location a short flat walk to all the best bushwalking in the Blue Mountains, yet only 10 minutes drive to Leura and Katoomba and all the local tourist attractions. It truly is a special place to be to soak up all that the Mountains has to offer.
