Misrepresented Property, Awful experience!
I'm including here a copy of the email I sent to the property manager, instead of re-writing everything. you can understand why we think this house was misrepresented on VRBO. We're actually lucky that our friends had to cancel their trip due to Covid, because if not, this would have been an even bigger disaster, and on the first night, all 7 people wouldn't even have had room to sleep because of the broken beds.
There were multiple items broken:
1 - The safe needed to be fixed
2 - The ice maker was broken
3 - two of the beds were broken when we arrived.
4 - The pool floor has a bunch of cracks in it that were not pictured on the website. Making it dangerous to walk in the pool.
Additionally, a lot of things were not as pictured on the website, or not satisfactory for the price
1 - The bedding was mis-represented, the pictures show nice quilts on the bed, but the house was furnished with thin, rough blankets.
2 - There was no Speaker in the living room as pictured on VRBO
3 - There were only 2 chairs by the pool, but 4 pictured on VRBO
4 - We were given 1 towel and 1 hand towel per guest, no wash clothes. In the pictures each bathroom was outfitted with extra towels and wash clothes. Additionally, the towels are so cheap and scratchy. Not of the quality we would expect for the price
5 – It took almost 24 hours to get more towels and blankets.
6 - The Jacuzzi was misleading. It was not a hot tub, it was an outside bathtub that you had to fill up. So, it does not stay heated as you would expect from a hot tub. It was also filthy and the living was discolored and scratched up.
7 – All of the TVs have unsightly chords hanging down, on the website they look clean with no chords. Also in the master sweet there’s a bunch of pencil markings on the wall above the TV like someone was measuring when mounting the TV and just left the pencil markings on the wall.
On top of all this, the house was just extremely uncomfortable, the pool chairs are hard without cushions, there were no comforters on the beds, most of the walls were dirty, and there’s so much vegetation that you can’t even walk around the pool.
When renting a property advertised as a luxury getaway, we should not have to use the first 24 hours of our vacation asking the property owner to fix stuff, and after that 24 hours, still have a long list of issues.
The house was a nightmare and ruined our vacation.
