holiday in mudgee
Was a bit disappointed walking in to cobwebs and dust all over pool furniture as well as worn out carpet in lounge room could do with a makeover but a great space for large families
We had a great long weekend in the house, fitting 12 people comfortably. Note: there were two additional fold out lounges and breakfast isn’t included.
It’s a great location for the races, wineries and markets. An easy walk or drive into town. The house was clean and Luke and Margaret are easy to communicate with if you need clarification on anything. Highly recommend the house for anyone wanting a weekend away with family and friends to explore Mudgee.
Property was clean a day had everything we needed. The pool was great to cool off on hot days. Central location of the house was great for our winery tour
Good Location. Older property. Plenty of room. Could do with a bit of TLC. Great for a group of friends/family. Don't expect anything flash but does the job.
The house had plenty of room for the group to spend time together. The log fire was an advantage for the colder nights experienced. However, the house does need some maintenance.
If you are looking for a 6 star accommodation then this place is NOT for you but if you are looking for a spacious, comfortable home for big groups in a peaceful area then this place IS for you. We absolutely loved this home where there was nothing left wanting for guests. The beds and pillows were comfortable, the breakfast items plentiful, the pool relaxing and the wifi excellent. this spacious home is close to a park (if you have littlies) a stones throw to the Mudgee Golf Club and a short drive into town. We felt like home..
A large group of us were in town for the weekend. This property had everything we needed to accommodate us.

Old, dusty & disappointed
unfortunately not clean (cobwebs, food in cupboard unsealed, crockery dirty), roof leaked when rained and breakfast items left for us not enough for our stay. Beds all hard mattress so didn't get much sleep.
Beautiful home, wonderfully presented and perfect for our group of 11. The fantastic breakfast items provided were a really nice touch. The pool table was great, the fireplace was well-stocked with wood, and the piano sounds beautiful! The whole place was just a wonderful base from which to explore Mudgee. A really relaxing and enjoyable weekend, thank you!
1 Redbank Road is easy to find as you enter Mudgee from Sydney. The location is very close to the Mudgee Golf Club and an easy couple of minutes to the centre of town. The space inside is enormous. We really enjoyed playing pool in the area outside the kitchen. The house is very clean and breakfast supplies are provided. As has been noted in some earlier reviews, the house is probably in original condition and an update would make it even more appealing. That being said, the price would then increase substantially, without gaining any great benefit. Several of us are keen to return for a golfing weekend due to the proximity to the golf course and the space available. Well worth considering for a larger group wishing to stay in Mudgee.
Our group of 8 adults had a great weekend in Mudgee. The house was so spacious, that social distancing was not a problem. It had everything we needed as we stayed in and cooked at night. Very warm and cosy with the fire. Would highly recommend for families with children too. We will definitely stay again if in the area. Thanks Margaret.
We are group of four couples who get together every so often at different places around NSW. We have expectations of value for money. This property did not meet our expectations. The hiccup on arrival regarding the provisions was understandable and was efficiently dealt with. There was mould in the main bathroom on the walls and ceiling. The ceiling needs painting as it was peeling. In the main bedroom there was only one door on the three doored wardroom. The ceiling light fixture had only one working globe in a cluster of five. The bbq was dirty. Floor tiles in the large dining room were loose. The carpet in the lounge room is very threadbare and lessens the feel of the place. The ceiling fan in the kitchen is very dirty. In one of the bedrooms the sheets had black hair on them and had to be replaced. When we arrived we found the fridge had been turned off. This allowed large amounts of mould to grow in the ice container. We had to thoroughly clean the fridge as there were mould spurs throughout it.
However, after we settled in we enjoyed our stay. The fire place warmed the house to make it very cosy.
However, I don't think we will be back. Regards Rod
