We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Flame Trees, it is indeed a beautiful home. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were clean and comfortable. The showers are fabulous. Although the property was air conditioned, the shower rooms weren't, so attempting to dry hair in temperatures of 30+ was frustrating.
Although it is described as Absolute Beach Front (and it is) I wouldn't recommend the walk to the beach from the rear of the property. You have to negotiate over a little wooden rickety bridge which goes over an overgrown creek/stream and then walk through very long grasses and shrubbs where anything that bites/stings could be lurking! A little disappointing. There is safe access to the beach from the street.
The pool was a real Godsend to cool off during the day, however a pool net would have been appreciated as when the filter is not on, it soon gets covered in bugs and would like to have removed them before getting in the pool. Lots of bugs at the bottom of the pool too. Bugs come hand in hand in QLD, we expected them, but would have liked the option to remove them.
Disappointed that no beach towels were provided, all other rental properties have provided these in the past. This coast and The Whitsundays are all about the beaches!
One evening my daughter and I decided to use the BBQ to cook some lamb, after a few minutes of cooking, it ran out of gas!
You have to drive everywhere. If you like the seclusion, this is your property! We loved it and would definitely return!
