Jack's Shack - Beach Paradise

Sit on the deck and watch your kids play on the beach. It's all here for you swimming, fishing, boating, and walks on the beach.

The Space
We've created a crisp, clean and comfortable open space for your holiday. Bring your clothes, bring your food (or walk up the road for food) everything else is here for you -
Your linen, bath towels, Children's cot and high chair are available. Board and Card games, kids toys.

The Neighbourhood
Quiet street, quiet neighbours.
Short walk to restaurant on the water (Goodies) and cafe for breakfast and lunch (Salty Squid).
Convenience store a short drive away.

Plenty of room for parking multiple vehicles.
Front or back yard.

Small boat can be stored under the house.

Front garage door is locked and inaccessible.
Linen cupboard in laundry is locked and inaccessible.

The air con is in the master bedroom only, most guests do not use the air con as the house generally enjoys a cool see breeze.
Please also note that there are two steps up to the master and second bedrooms and two steps down to the third bedroom and laundry.

Please note that our family home is only two doors down from Jack's Shack so you might see us wave from our deck! If you need anything during your stay you are more than welcome to pop down and ask.

We choose not to charge an additional rate for peak seasons so that Jack's is not another crazy cost for holiday times. Please respect us by booking (and therefore paying) for the correct number of guests.

Nightmare Hosts!

We searched for a house that would sleep 8, was pet friendly, had a hot tub and internet. This lovely house came up so we booked it. I excitedly told the hosts that we would be bringing our two small dogs. At first they cancelled the booking, then accepted it, stating that they don’t usually accept pets. I reminded them that it was on their listing. We packed our togs, eager for a spa on the cold winter night when we arrived. We also packed a VR headset to show our friends, and some video games for the teens to play. Our friend brought her laptop as she had a small amount of work to do during the 4 day break. When we arrived, there was no hot tub. I messaged the hosts about this and asked for the internet password. They rudely replied that there had never been a spa or internet and their guests came to enjoy nature and did not need the internet. She then informed me that I had to pay for extra people in the house. We had 5 and it looked like the booking had defaulted back to two. She wanted an extra 300. I pointed out we paid for a hot tub and internet, so should we just call it even? She changed the listing after we arrived and would not even discuss this or let me send her proof, then harassed us for the 4 days and after with condescending messages and she kept increasing the price. She charged us for each dog, even though additional costs were not agreed to prior. We rang Vrbo and fortunately they were on our side once we provided evidence of what we had actually booked.

Ultimate relaxation spot immediately next to beach

Well-presented and set-up for families, we had a wonderful time, and especially enjoyed using the kayak that was supplied (we had brought the kids' own as well). Only thing to note is that Google maps takes you to the wrong esplanade (on the other side of Toogoom, about 5 minutes away) - best to type in Moreton St and follow that through to the end.

Christmas holiday

Property was very clean and well equipped. Location was great with plenty of parking. House could be opened up to get sea breeze. Easy access to cafes and short drive to Hervey Bay. Would stay again.

Excellent Location overlooking Beelbi Inlet

Great little 3 bedroom place across the 'road' from Beelbi Creek overlooking the bay. Very relaxing watching the tide rise & fall making land appear & disappear. Some great fishing as well without a boat required. Fully stocked kitchen & good bathroom with great shower. FYI Lots of equipment, games & books for young children.

Wonderful Christmas

What a beautiful little spot! The kids had a great time fishing off the rocks and swimming. The house was very clean and had everything that we required for a lovely Christmas Day.

Our stay at Jack's Shack was awesome. The house is bigger then it looks in the photos, really well equipped for families and the view from the house was spectacular. Great spot to fish, boat and kayak or just relax and enjoy the view. Thanks Toni for being a wonderful host. Look forward to staying again soon.

Great breach house

I stayed at Jack's Shack with my 2 little ones for 5 nights in Jan 2023. I was happy to discover that Woolworths in Hervey Bay deliver to Toogoom, so organised groceries to be delivered on the afternoon of our arrival. The house had everything we needed and more and had beautiful breezes throughout. I loved the serenity and tapping out from the hustle and bustle of every day life. We definitely hope to go back.
