About this property

Byron Bay Hinterland-Teak Tree Farm

TEAK TREE FARM

As there are calves in the paddocks we request all dogs to be restrained and kept within range of the house.

Teak Tree Farm is located in the picturesque Byron Bay hinterland. The old farmhouse is surrounded by 50 acres of beautiful cattle grazing country, with views up to the magnificent Coolamon Scenic ranges. The farm house was built in 1905 and had been left vacant for the past 60 years. The property was purchased in November 2015 and has now been lovingly restored to it’s former glory.

Teak Tree Farm offers an amazing venue for any special gathering, family get togethers, yoga retreat & relaxing girls weekends away,

The farmhouse is a relaxing & private getaway for any occasion. Yet close enough to the busy & vibrant towns in the Byron shire. A short 5 minute drive to Mullumbimby town centre and a 15 minute drive into Byron Bay.

The property is being planted up with Koala feed trees to ensure we continue to grow the Northern Rivers population of Koala’s currently it is believed there are only about 150 left in the wild in this area.

There is ongoing rainforest forest and land for widelife regeneration work
Being done on the property to ensure we can supply safe houses for our beautiful wildlife.

Peace and beauty like you have never seen before.

We would love to have you stay so you can experience the sheer beauty for yourself.

About the host

Host profile image
David and myself (Tina) always dreamed about moving from Sydney to the majestic Northern Rivers. David is from a Metal Engineering background and myself from a Marketing and then Horticultural backgrounds.

We firstly purchased a property in Myocum approx. 10 acres in 2012. I went back to college and studied Agriculture /Beef Cattle Production. We also joined Brunswick Valley Landcare and became involved in many projects from Education to planting out a Koala Corridor on our property. We then purchased our first 6 cows. We started breading and hence needed more land.

This is when the purchase of Teak Tree Farm happened in November 2015. The farm was built in 1905 and were told it was either a knock down or an extremely long and costly renovation. We restored to farm house in 3months and stuck to a small budget. This meant we had to do most of the work ourselves. I think it is refered to as blood. sweat and tears. We now run many more cattle and let out the property for Holiday rentals. It is also offered to many families from Bear Cottage in desperate need of respite. To date we have planted over 2,500 trees for Koalas and wildlife.

David and myself still live on our little 10 acre farm. We have many animals including, cows, horses big and small, ducks, geese, chickens, turkeys, dogs and many native birds and animals. We love our guests bringing there children to our home to visit our funny farm. We also have our children nearby and one of my daughters , her husband and child living with us. We grow many of our own vegetables and have a large variety of fruit & nut trees.( Lemons, oranges, manderine's, tangerine, limes, finger limes, lychee's, apples, pears , Mango's and Macadamia Trees.) Mango's.

We love our life on the Northern Rivers and enjoy sharing our beautiful homes.

Why they chose this property

You could not buy a property in a better location anywhere in the world. Well that is what we think!

What makes this property unique

An amazingly beautiful Farm house which enjoys the country side yet is 10mins to the coast.
