Built in 1885, our carriage house is in a quiet residential neighborhood 50 yards from Troup Square. The unit was carefully renovated/decorated to keep its historic charm. The Jingle Bells Square Cottage is even better in person. I don’t feel like the pictures do it justice. It’s absolutely adorable and the neighborhood is beautiful. It’s extremely walkable with fabulous coffee shops and eateries. I would definitely stay there again. It’s also one of the more affordable options in the heart of Savannah.
This quaint cottage was perfect for our short stay in Savannah. The place was well stocked and very clean. We loved the quiet location and the hosts were very responsive. Added bonuses were the washer & dryer and off street parking.
location fantastic for walking in Savannah, well equipped

Great Place to Stay
We have used HomeAway in several cities the cottage was one of the best we have stayed in. It was exactly as represented and the owner was more than helpful we have visited Savannah several times but new arrivals will find all the information they need for a great visit.
I stayed here for 2 days. The place was great, and had an old world charm to it (though it's fully updated). It was in a great location too: close enough to walk into town, but not too close where street noise could be a factor. Very comfy place!

Jingle Bells Square Cottage
Ours was an excellent experience in all ways. The cottage is immaculately clean, has lots of character, and is located within walking distance of all the great sites and restaurants. We will definitely return in the very near future!
This was a wonderful property. My husband and I loved the fact that you can walk everywhere within 20 minutes or less. It has a sweet little patio outside and the house is impeccably clean. The owner is super nice. Would highly recommend!
This rental was exactly as described (possibly even better) and the location was perfect! We were able to walk many places in Old Town and easily drive out of town for exploring further. We were so incredibly comfortable and happy with this little place that we spent more time at the rental than we usually do.
Modern kitchen and bathroom, ample bedroom, & cozy living/dining area. We appreciated the washer dryer and enjoyed the little semi-private deck.
We were in Savannah for the week. The house is cute and comfortable and walking distance to just about anything down town. We picked up a walking guide book and used it to guide us around town several days and we took a drive to Tybee island one day. We enjoyed everything and knew we had our comfortable cottage after a day out. We will be back<3

Cute and Cozy
The cottage was lovely and very well decorated. Great having coffee next to the fireplace.
I would recommend a mattress topper. Great location.
Thank you.

We're always happy to receive suggestions from our guests. It's nearly impossible to find the perfect mattress for a wide variety of different people. The manufacturer describes this queen-size bed as Firm - not Extra Firm, not Soft. Mattress Toppers can add a level of softness, but can also be hot to sleep on.

We enjoyed our recent stay! Thank you
The only issue we ran into was parking. Our rental car did not fit in the space provided and we had a very difficult time finding street parking nearby that wasn't affected by the street sweeping "no parking" schedule.

We advertise an off-street parking space for one "small" car. In our information packet sent to guests before arrival we suggest backing in to make the small space easier to maneuver. Using this method we have accommodated guests with much larger cars - Toyota Highlander, Cadillac Denali. Savannah is very serious about keeping the streets clean - twice each week - which can reduce the available parking for those arriving home late on those nights.

Quiet, Historic & Charming
Savannah is my favorite place to vacation and now the Jingle Bells Square Cottage is my new favorite place to stay! The cottage was clean and had modern appliances yet had a historical feel. It was close to several good restaurants and not too far to walk to River Street. Parking was available on the street but make sure you're not parked there on street-cleaning day which was Saturday or you will get ticketed!

Savannah is one of the few cities in America that has scheduled street sweeping - it's one of the things that keeps Savannah so beautiful. Street sweeping in the Historic District occurs on each street on a weekly basis on the same night each week. There are signs on each street that post the nights and times for alternate side schedules. If parking overnight on streets in the district be sure to read the signs and park on the side of the street that isn't being swept.

Wonderful!
We really enjoyed our stay at Jingle Bells Square Cottage - what a cozy little house full of character perfect for a couple. Hands down a much better stay here in a beautiful neighborhood where you can truly experience the character of Savannah versus staying in a nondescript hotel room. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen where we were able to cook some tasty breakfasts thanks to a butcher shop just around the corner which was full of wonderful food items. The fireplace was especially nice as it warmed up the cottage during the chilly January evenings. We were concerned about the parking spot since other reviews stated how small it was, but the owner was incredibly helpful with parking directions and we had no problem at all backing in our small SUV in the space and had no reason to move it again until our departure since everything was a short walk away. The only drawback to our stay was how early in the morning the construction crews started next door (shortly after 7:00am) so don't plan on sleeping in, not even on Saturday, until they finish the building behind the cottage.

Savannah is booming! A record number of building permits have been issued in the past 12 months. It’s hard to find a neighborhood where there isn’t a building project going on. There is currently construction in progress across from the rear of our cottage. The project is in compliance with Savannah work ordinance regulations.

One of our best rental experience ever!
We have used VRBO for many years and this is one of the best experiences we have had. The cottage is adorable. I wanted to move right in! It is within walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. The owner was very responsive to emails and answering any questions we had. We even received numerous emails prior to our arrival letting us know about special deals and events.
My only comment would be (and this is not a negative), it is not easy to find. The parking is actually off an alley and not the street listed as the address. Also, the owner says parking is intended for a small car - he means SMALL!!! We had no problem fitting our car, but the passenger had to get out first or the door wouldn't open! Again, this isn't meant as a negative - only to inform other renters. There is plenty of other parking nearby We would absolutely rent this cottage again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Thanks for describing your parking experience. We have successfully parked our own Toyota Highlander SUV in our private space, but felt that describing the space as intended for a "small" car would be more practical. Parking in Savannah is a bit of a grab bag. There are areas in the Historic District that have meters, which either means buying a visitor's parking permit, or getting up before 8am to feed the meter. Our neighborhood doesn't have meters and many of our guests choose street parking over squeezing into our dedicated parking space. None of our guests have reported difficulty in finding street parking close by. One guest did fail to read the signs about overnight opposite-side street sweeping and got a ticket.
Our stay at Jingle Bells Cottage was perfect! It’s slightly off the beaten path making for a peaceful retreat after full day of exploring Savannah. The jasmine covered deck out back is perfect for morning coffee and relaxation. We appreciated all the extra special touches, the welcome treats and fully stocked Keurig. The beds were very comfortable. I do want to point out that the cap for the air mattress on the sofa bed was discovered broken so we were unable to inflate it but my travel mate still said it was extremely comfortable for sleep. We would definitely choose this location again!
We enjoyed the quiet of the neighborhood, the secluded patio for eating and drinking, the proximity of the Beach Institute for morning coffee and brunch as well as museum tour. The cottage furnishings are beautiful and queen bed is very comfortable. We would definitely return.
This property was very nice, clean, and as shown in the picture. Old house but very nice overall. Kitchen was well stocked and big considering size of the house. Location was awesome. Within 10-15 min walk of everywhere. Property manager Pam was very nice by stopping in our little backyard to chat with us and answered of of our questions. A great stay
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It’s adorable and nicely updated with every amenity we needed. The bed is very comfortable. We were able to park with no problem in a small SUV. The location is wonderful— easy to walk to River Street or drive to the islands.
All was great except the contact info for the property manager we received pre arrival online was incorrect. The booklet on site had the correct phone number so we were able to make contact. They may want to correct this oversight. Thanks
Walk to Everything in Savannah Historical District
The cottage had everything we needed for our short visit to Savannah. We chose to use the free street parking and then walked everywhere. It's close to restaurants and is easy to access the best of the historical district and river district. It has a nice kitchen, comfortable bed and washer/dryer.
We are a nearing-retirement age couple from Philadelphia with backgrounds in fine arts and restoration, an appreciation for eccentricity, and a limited amount of patience for shoveling snow - so Savannah is perfect for us.
Why they chose this property
When our son was clever enough to pass up the blustery New York area where he was born and enrolled in the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in animation in 2004 we began thinking about escaping ourselves - at least for visits. He graduated in 2008 and has moved on to other challenges but we continue to be fascinated by Savannah, one of the most magical cities in the US.
What makes this property unique
For short and longer term visits we have stayed in quite a few Savannah hotels and a dozen or so furnished vacation rentals, so we have a good idea of what we want to find to make us comfortable, which has guided us in renovating and furnishing this cottage.
