We loved staying here. The location is so lovely, and close to lots of great amenities. The house itself is beautiful and has everything you need. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Brisbane.

Location Location LocationWe are snowbirds from Canada and enjoyed a long stay at this property. Aotea is a charming house in the best location, bus at your front door, city cat a 10 min walk. You can get anywhere with ease from this location. Close to groceries, market, bottle shop, and plenty of restaurants. We also enjoyed the beautiful outdoor space, relaxing with our morning coffee and “Happy Hour” after a day out and about.Photos and description are very accurate, what you see, is what you get.Booking was easy and Sue and Peter are lovely hosts. We would highly recommend is property.
From the very beginning, Sue made our booking at Aotea very easy. The property is gorgeous, clean and in a fantastic location for walking into the city. We had everything we needed for our short overnight stay, including tea bags (many different types to choose from), coffee bags and coffee pods for the machine, as well as milk and butter. The beds and pillows were incredibly comfortable and parking was easy too (we only had one car). If ever we stay in the city again, we will return to this beautiful property. Thank you Sue!
Grab this accomodation if it is available. It is amazing. Sue is a wonderful host. The accomodation is in a good area, bus stop is just outside and the ferry service is a 5 minute walk. Absolutely immaculate, some truly good provisions made by the host. It was a privilege staying in this house. Would 100% recommend. Sue also allowed us to check in early which was we were truly grateful for. Prompt communication, courteous host. Thank you Sue

About the host
Hosted by Sue Hawkins
My husband Peter and I are passionate about home renovation and traveling the world.
We built our stunning beach house, 'Villa Macleay', 30 years ago and we have decided it is now time to start sharing it with other people. Over the last 2 decades, Villa Macleay has been a haven for our children and now our grandchildren.
Likewise, we are excited to announce that we are also now listing our beautifully renovated, art deco New Farm apartment, 'Aotea'. This Art Deco apartment is too stunning to keep from the growing community and is perfect for business people, visiting families to Brisbane and boarding school parents wanting somewhere more personalised than a hotel when they visit their children for weekends.
We believe in presenting our properties in a style that we would like to stay in ourselves. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
'Aotea' was built as two adjoining flats in the Art - Deco style in 1936 for Mr William Danaher, and has been in the family ever since. It features stunning original hardwood floors, picture rails, timber paneled doors and some of the original light fittings. This property is not our home, it is listed exclusively as a holiday rental, so if it isn't already booked, you can always consider it yours every time you need to stay in beautiful inner city Brisbane.
What makes this property unique
We have added a beautiful relaxed covered courtyard where you can dine, read a book, have a coffee, beer, or glass of wine, and while away the hours.
