Galeodan Amberjack Suite - your family home in Paradise

Amberjack is one of the Galeodan Suites in Casa de Huespedes: Jardin de Helena (Helena's Garden). Amberjack features 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom with well-appointed kitchenette for self-catering. The living area is expansive, with a balcony facing west over the Pacific Ocean. Two of San Cristobal's finest beaches are 3 minutes walk (Playa Mann) and 15 minutes walk (Carola) from the Suite.

The 3 piece bathroom and fully equipped kitchen have gas-heated water. We provide all the cooking basics including pots, pans, salt, pepper and oil plus unlimited drinking water, coffee, tea, milk, sugar, cereal, fruit eggs and bread for a healthy in-home breakfast.

There are stores nearby for you to buy whatever else you would like for home-cooking, as well as several restaurants serving national and international cuisine.

Amberjack is only 5 minutes walk from downtown and a short taxi ride from the airport. If you are staying 2 nights or more, we will pick you up at the airport for no extra charge.

Wonderful Experience

Sean was amazing; incredibly helpful. He had someone to meet us at airport. Absolutely fantastic view of the lagoon - we had a great time just sitting on the porch watching the boats come. A short (5 minute) walk into town one direction and Playa Mann was 3 minutes the other direction. Sean provided breakfast each morning (bread, butter, jelly, eggs). He also gave us a custom map with preferred restaurants & shops marked We couldn’t have expected a better host and the accommodations were beautiful.

Great hosts, great place!

Sean and Maria Elena's place provides you with everything you need to explore San Cristobal! The things that had an impact are, the view of the water with the swooping frigate birds, the eggs, cereal, rolls, butter, and water that were provided every day, the owner's attention to our details - such as arranging an inter-island flight for me, and all the suggestions they had to make our time so meaningful. Oh, and air conditioning! Each island is unique, and we enjoyed the awesome snorkeling spot and interpretive center that were so close to this great apartment. Don't miss going to San Cristobal, and this is the place to be if you want your own space!

Host profile image
Maria Elena’s mother is from Santa Cruz and her father from San Cristobal, where he is still an active fisherman. Both sides of the family have deep roots in the Galapagos. Maria Elena grew up and worked in the Galapagos before leaving to Canada to further her education and outlook.

Sean was raised in various parts of Africa while schooling in England. Sean is a professional Civil Engineer and has spent over 35 years in construction, including 25 years in Canada, the last 15 of which have been in his own consulting business.

Maria Elena and Sean met in Canada, shortly before Maria Elena accepted an IT posting in Bermuda. Maria Elena and Sean were married in Bermuda and their two sons, who were born in Canada, now enjoy Canadian, Irish and Ecuadorian citizenship.

The Keegan family has been visiting Galapagos regularly since 1996 and moved permanently to San Cristobal in January, 2009.

Why they chose this property

The Galeodan Suites are located in a private residential neighborhood, overlooking the bay, halfway between the main port and several of the areas most popular attractions, including the Interpretation Centre, the beaches (Playa Man; Punta Carola) and the Tijeretas (lookout and bay). Everything is within a few minutes walk.
