Spacious and loved all the animals roaming around. Well equipped kitchen - peaceful and private. Would definitely stay again.

We didn’t receive any booking or check in confirmations before arrival but did speak to the friendly owner on the way. Unfortunately a swarm of flies were in the yard of the two shipping containers that were “the cosy cottage”. The kitchen and living container had an unpleasant odor, worn furniture and felt neglected. Pots and cutlery were all in need of some cleaning before use. But the bed was comfy and bedroom prettily furnished. However lack of mosquito nets meant we slept with shut windows and it became extremely hot on the second night which made sleeping hard. A fan would be a welcome addition!
It was quiet but was not presented well.Pictures were misleading

Definitely not a retreat, unhealthy
Very disappointed with property. Advertised as a retreat, container with bedroom/bathroom had beautiful decor and comfortable, however quite musty and rubbish was not emptied and shower quite clearly not cleaned. Other container had kitchen/living area, smelt terribly of dog, curtain by kitchen had significant black mould, microwave and bench unclean, couch and chair are dirty. Outdoor area was filthy, not swept or wiped for guests comfort, rubbish bin extremely dirty. Situated next to their multiple big dogs. We did take a non shedding and non smelling little maltese, we left feeling unclean. Sadly we had to stay for 3 nights as no other accommodation in Alexandra due to tournaments held of which we were involved.

Apologies re the rubbish bin and yes we did find a bit of mould on a curtain thankyou for pointing that out - it has been remedied -apart from that I can assure you the place was well cleaned and there has not been a dog in the accomodation for many months .
My husband had just lost his father and although we were going through this bereavement we kept the accomodation open so you could enjoy your holiday
I hope you find a happier heart next holiday so you can enjoy your next break without spending it picking the accomodation to bits
The host came outside and welcomed us as soon as we drove up. The next morning, she introduced us to all the animals, which we really enjoyed. We took a couple of walks along the neighborhood’s quiet country lane while we were there. A very peaceful setting and welcoming vibe.
Has everything you need for a short stay with the benefit of being happy to have our pup along. The accommodation space is only small, but functional. Close to both the river and dam for swimming when it's hot.

Disappointing
It would have probably been better had it not been pouring with rain when we arrived. We expected the two containers to be connected, which they weren’t, so we had to go outside to go between the two, and the bedroom one smelled musty. However it was very well equipped with everything to make our stay comfortable, just needs a bit of TLC.
We chose it because it allowed us to bring our dogs with us rather than have them in a kennel. That was the major selling point for us. We could have had a larger room in a motel room in town for the same price, but then we would have had to book the dogs into a kennel. We liked the fact that we were a wee way out of town. We will be back.
Property was shabby and grounds were overgrown. Not at all acceptable!

What a rude customer . We bent over backwards trying to make them comfortable . We offered them a different room when they were unhappy about no tv in the one they booked . They accepted our offer . I sat with Debbie for a while outside the room and had a pleasant chat and said to sing out if there is anything they need . That evening they packed up and left without saying a word . They left the room untidy and had walked chicken poo through the unit on our brand new carpet . Very disappointing . We are very approachable yet they said nothing . The comment our grounds are shabby has to be some sort of joke we work full time maintaining our grounds , maybe they just dont understand living in the country - I guess if they had poked around they may have found a vegie garden that needs attention thats all I can think of . Maybe we should of been suspicious when they wanted to by pass the booking agents and pay us directly . I would NOT recommend these rude people to other businesses
Tiny bach with everything you need. Good bed, great shower, comfortable sofa, kitchenette plus an enclosed yard for the dog. Right on the rail trail was a bonus . Nice hosts. I would highly recommend this place .
