About this property

Airy Scandinavian style apartment. Professionally refurbished and decorated by owners. Ideal stay for a couple, family of four or close friends in the middle of Old Town.

For centuries space used to be an attic warehouse with 15th century wooden beams kept exposed and integrated into interior. It has been refurbished in 90ties into a one bedroom living space but has kept the rustic character and feel of an original warehouse.

Historically building belonged to land property with 6 residential buildings constructed in 14-19 century. Of which the 14th century stone building with our attic apartment is the only one that survived from the medieval Russian trade settlement. In 1537 when it re-appeared in Riga real estate book entries, it was marked as Ernst van Mengden's residential building. Mengdens (German: von Mengden) is an ancient Baltic German family known in Livonia since the 15th century and was recorded in Vidzeme and Estonia Knighthood's matricula.

Amazing location, great accommodations

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment has everything you need, very thoughtfully and tastefully furnushed. Location is amazing, we loved the outhentic experience of staying on Old Town Riga. Guntis is a great host, communication was top notch, very responsive and prompt. If we are back, we would definitely stay there again.
