The awesome beauty and scenic tranquility of Hopkins Pond will take your breath away, creating a memorable experience that may have you planning your return visit even before you leave. Giant granite boulders covered in soft mosses and leathery lichen are strewn across Granite Cove's spacious 5 acre site. Bright blue flag irises bloom along the water's edge in June while lacy ferns, painted trilliums, pink and white lady slippers, wild blueberry bushes and a host of other native plants arrive over the summer season creating a delightful native botanical garden. So pack up a simple picnic, jump in a kayak or canoe and explore the rich, diverse shoreline, observe from a distance the nesting terns, the eagle fledgling and busy loons then stop on Blueberry Island for a quick swim and lunch before returning to Granite Cove.
After spending the afternoon reading, lounging at water’s edge, or fishing you may want to make a quick trip to Jones’s Lobster Pound in Holden for fresh lobsters . You will have everything you need at Granite Cove to cook and enjoy your delicious lobster dinner, including a propane lobster cooker.

My husband Pat and I purchased our beautiful land on Hopkins Pond in 1998. We fell more in love with this scenic paradise as we spent our summers kayaking, swimming, hiking and working to develop the site, readying it for construction. We became year round residents in 2005 when we moved into our dream home. Now that we are both retired and are able to more fully indulge in our passion for travel, we still agree that there is no other place on earth we'd rather live than our "Home Place" on Hopkins Pond.

Why they chose this property

We bought the Granite Cove land which is adjacent to our Home Place in 2012, and Pat has been developing it into a beautiful site for our newly built Granite Cove Cottage, completed in January 2020. Over the years we have loved sharing the pleasures of Hopkins Pond with our family and friends. Now we look forward to sharing those same pleasures with our guests at Granite Cove.

What makes this property unique

We love Maine! And we love our picturesque wooded lakeside land on Hopkins Pond with its unspoiled tranquility and natural scenic features of crystal clear water and rugged granite shoreline. Its proximity to Acadia National Park and Baxter State Park and Mount Kathadin make this property ideally situated to enjoy all the delights that Maine has to offer.
