Location and cottage were fantastic! The rock face down to the dock is a little precarious and is steeper than it looks in photos, but otherwise we loved it!

Spent a week at this wonderful property. Ideally located near the marina and a free boat launch. The home included a private dock so we could readily launch for a day of fishing or simply fish from the dock, which was good. The home was well appointed and clean. The master on the main included a very comfortable bed. The two upstairs bedrooms were good sized and comfortable as well. Evening sunsets from the living room, patio and dock were beautiful. Christine was a wonderful host and quick to answer any questions. The neighbors were delightful and quick to offer advice on restaurants and activities in the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and recommend this property for anyone seeking a comfortable and memorable stay.

Just came back from a relaxing stay with some friends. The property is beautiful with idyllic views of Georgian Bay and the sunset. The cottage is clean, comfortable, and spacious. It was easy to find and had everything we needed.

Wonderful Woods Bay

This was the most tastefully / beautifully decorated luxurious cottage we've rented The weather was awesome (no bugs) and the boating was spectacular The only downside was the rock path down to the dock is a little challenging for those with mobility issues Other than that an awesome stay Thank you

Great Access to Georgian Bay

Comfortable property...marina around the corner and easy access to Georgian Bay Island. Had my 16' with a 25 HP tiller and able to run as far as Frying Pan Island through protected channel. Property was as advertised and owners very responsive.

Beautiful Inside and Out

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Big Rock cottage. "Quiet, clean, comfortable, and the owner was very accommodating," said my husband when asked what he thought of our stay. And for my part, I'd like to add: beautiful inside and out.

Family Vacation

It was a lovely cottage to spend 8 nights with our family at... very comfortable. We missed not having AC for getting to sleep most nights but it did cool down quite nicely overnight. Loved the large dining table on the deck for enjoying all of our dinners and taking in the sunsets Beautiful. Great marina and public boat launch near by to get the water toys in.

4 day cottage rental

We had a lovely time in a very comfortable clean , well appointed cottage. The fish were biting right off the dock ! The only bother was the neighbours were close and running machinery a lot .

Luxurious cottage

True to photos and description, this cottage exceeded our expectations. The hot tub and sunny deck provided space to unwind and enjoy the view. A trip up to the Moon River Falls was a lovely spot for a picnic. Recommend bringing your own water as the well water does have a sulphuric taste.

Very nice mid-Sept visit

The cottage is comfortable, spacious, and well equipped. The lake, dock, deck chairs, and hot tub were nice places to view the sunsets. The kitchen is ideal for any coffee addict, and there were plenty of cooking utensils, plus the knives were sharp. Shopping for food/wine was handy in Mactier, which was 25 min drive away.

Great trip at a fantastic property

Christine's cottage/home is absolutely beautiful. Our family boys fishing trip couldn't have been better. The Woods Bay area of Georgian Bay has some of the best fishing in Ontario and coming back to the beautiful and luxury accommodations that this property provides was a welcome treat after a long day on the water. We will be back in the future for sure and highly recommend this property to anyone interested. You won't be disappointed!

I cant say better about this property. Its a true 11/10. Gorgeous Georgian Bay lake view front with homey vibes that solidify the true cottage experience. Winter or summer, its an oasis that leaves you wanting. Cant wait to come back!

Fishing trip

Great location , close to fuel dock . Great dock to protect the boat overnight . Bring at least 300 feet of electric cord to reach the power plug to recharge boat batteries . Great deep water access - great fishing - plenty of room to turn the boat around and store the trailer . A bit tight getting back to the house - would recommend dropping your boat off at moon river marina before check in — overall great place and location !! We had a 1875 lund impact boat

Where to begin - I promised my family I would give this listing a "10/10 - Would stay again - 2 thumbs up" review. From my first inquiry thru to our last day, everything about this home was perfect. The pictures are 100% accurate. Spacious, clean, and fully stocked - this home was perfect for our family reunion. Between the two living rooms, dining room, and multiple outdoor decks, there is ample room to move about for indoor and outdoor relaxation. We enjoyed the the bracing fresh water swims off the deck. All the beds and pillows were super-comfy with plenty of fresh linens and extra towels for both bathrooms. The large capacity washer/dryer was a bonus. The kitchen was top-notch, well stocked for everything to make our family meals. The beverage fridge was a boon for after-paddling/swimming deck time. Christine's home is fully equipped for entertainment and making memories. Thank you so, so much for sharing your home. We hope to come back soon.

Nice cottage but not ideal

Cottage was quite nice and comes well equipped. Lights and so on are controlled by Alexa. Although this sounds great, my technological abilities weren't up to the task - a reflection of age no doubt. The rocks down to the dock are quite treacherous when wet, so not good for elderly or anyone with mobility challenges. Even my athletic 30 year old son slipped! You need a boat of some sort if you're going to stay here. Although the water is drinkable, it does have a bit of a smell and taste. So bring drinking water. One slight annoyance is that although the cottage is listed as having a hot tub, this comes with an extra charge which we only realized after arrival. I found the extra costs for guests and pets unusual and leaving a bad initial impression. Also, check in time is late at 5 pm and check-out at 10 am. Why? So overall, a nice cottage, OK, but not great.

Hi, I’m sorry to hear your comments and surprised at your review especially considering I gave you a discount as I didn’t charge for the all the guests you had come during your stay. Furthermore you brought a pet along but never mentioned it and certainly didn’t pay the fee for the additional cleanup we have to do. As for the hot tub it is free and was available to you. We go out of our way to ensure our guests are comfortable and have everything they need to make their stay a memorable one so it’s upsetting to get a poor review like yours.

Beautiful spot! Sunsets are outrageously gorgeous.Deck and dock are wonderful.Lake was the perfect temperature.Well appointed, cozy cottage.Beds were comfy.Washer and dryer was handy.Nice grill. Sun umbrella was useful.Nice hot tub (max 2 people).Tons of windows that can be opened to let in the breeze (which is a very good thing, see below).Christine was very quick to respond to my on-site emails.But:Don’t go here if you don’t like critters (turtles, snakes, frogs).The cottage gets unbelievably hot in the afternoon (the big windows that give you that gorgeous view can’t be covered from the sun). Open all the windows and hope for a breeze.It’s not exactly private. Neighbours are nice but very close by (and they have wandering dogs…also friendly).The journey down the rock face from the cottage to the dock could be tricky for some.Ladder on the dock to get out of the water was broken (bolts holding it onto the dock were not secure).Sliding doors to the deck are hard to lock.All in all, a great spot and would strongly recommend.

Thanks for the nice compliments and review. As for the wildlife, this is cottage country afterall so to be expected and most cottages have neighbours as close by unless you are on an Island. As per our listing we do not have AC in the cottage as there is always a breeze and we have fans in the ceiling of all the rooms to circulate the air. During your stay there was a heatwave hence why it might have been hotter than normal. The rock face going down to the dock is a bit steeper and why we do not allow children on the property but it is visible in our VRBO pictures. Thanks for letting us know through this review about the ladder. We will be repairing it now that we are aware there is an issue. Glad to hear you had an overwall nice stay...:)

What a gorgeous place to spend a long weekend! The view of Lake Huron just can’t be beat. The house has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. It was beautifully decorated, clean, and cozy. It feels like a rustic cabin and a luxurious lakehouse at the same time. The hose was responsive, kind, and helpful. We knew exactly what to expect from the information she provided ahead of time. Our dog loved playing in and around the lake with the other dogs of the archipelago. We appreciated the friendly neighbors and their well-behaved, social dogs. My husband enjoyed swimming in the lake, and we relaxed in the hot tub overlooking the lake. I loved seeing and photographing wildlife like terns, bald eagles, gulls, wood ducks, mallards, and geese.Keep in mind that this is a fairly remote property, so planning ahead is essential. The closest food store is about 30 minutes away. The closest 24/7 gas station is about 40 minutes away. This was not a problem for us as we enjoyed the remoteness of the property, and the house had all of the modern amenities we needed. Come here for the quiet and stay for the natural beauty. We would definitely return for another stay.

I also love to cookng so you have everything you need to make and serve that special meal should you choose to cook for your partner and/or friends.

Why they chose this property

We are remote enough to not be part of the crazy busy cottage scene yet close enough to drive to it. We are located amongst the islands of Massassauga Provincial Park, so lots of areas for remote boating and fishing can be found yet we are accessible by car. We also offer the most amazing sunsets as we face west.

If you are looking for the perfect location to tour Georgian Bay then our cottage is exactly what you want. We are a 15-20 minute boat ride to 'Henry's' and have a marina and public boat launch 5 minutes away.
