THE AREA:
Caloundra is the southern-most town of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast just 90km north of Brisbane’s CBD. The town’s coastline is made up of 7 beaches; Golden Beach, Bulcock Beach, Kings Beach, Shelly Beach, Moffat beach, Dicky Beach and Currimundi so as you can imagine, the ocean plays host to many of Caloundra’s boredom busters.
Only one block/200m from Seagate and popular with families, is Bulcock Beach with its warm paddling pools at low tide, life guard presence from September through to May, great surf break at the point and cool strip of cafes, bars and restaurants just across the road on the Esplanade. The adjoining Happy Valley Park with its playground equipment and BBQs is a popular picnic spot for all ages and is the perfect place to watch the sun melt away behind the Glass House Mountains of an evening.
Connected to Happy Valley Park by a stunning coastal boardwalk with sweeping views of the sparkling blue waters that lead into the Pumicestone Passage and Bribie Island Marine Park, is Kings Beach. Popular with guests of all ages, Kings Beach features a heritage listed bathing pavilion built in 1937, rock pools, gentle beach break with protected swimming areas and $4m foreshore facility; a 25m sea water swimming pool and children’s wading pool with time release fountains.
The Pumicestone Passage is a narrow, shallow estuary made up of tidal channels and sand banks perfect to explore on a stand up paddleboard or kayak. Its placid waters are popular with dolphins, dugong, turtles, a variety of fish species and both migratory and native shorebirds. Stretching 35km from the tip of Bribie Island off the coast of Caloundra in the north to Deception Bay in the south, Pumicestone Passage is recognised as one of the most important bird and marine habitats on Australia’s east coast!
Caloundra’s vibrant arts community is showcased by a 1.7km street art trail which features a number of pieces that convey stories of the coastal community’s heritage. Operating year round, the Caloundra Street Fair markets which are literally at the apartment’s back gate are open every Sunday morning with twilight markets operating during the seasonal holiday periods. Both markets turn the main street into a carnival boasting unique offerings of artisan craft, homewares, art, clothes and delicious food stalls – browse, buy or just stop by to enjoy the atmosphere! The Caloundra Wheel entertains visitors in the cooler months and other major attractions include hinterland towns of Montville and Maleny, Australia Zoo, Aussie World, The Banana Bender Pub (formerly Ettamogah Pub), Big Kart Track and the Queensland Air Museum.

Guests will have access to the entire whole floor apartment, single lock up garage and communal garden.
IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
- We do not accept school leaver groups or bookings for functions such as hens or bucks parties
- Seagate is located on the second floor of a quiet residential complex. As noise travels easily the apartment is best suited to families or small groups
- No additional guests other than those included in the booking are permitted
- In order to maintain respectful relationships with neighbours we ask that all guests move indoors after 9pm. Strictly no loud/offensive music or behaviour is permitted at any time
- Check in from 3pm
- Check out before 10am
- Lift access, wheelchair accessible
- Smoking is permitted on the balcony only, strictly no smoking is permitted within the apartment
- Seagate is not pet friendly
- Seagate is located adjacent to the Caloundra bus terminal. Whilst bus traffic can be heard at times during the day (more so when the air-conditioning is off and the balcony doors are open), this hasn’t been a factor that’s been referenced very often in our guests’ reviews over the past few years.
