Summary:
A private, light-filled cottage designed for two, tucked into native greenery above Onetangi. Art Lovers’ Retreat is peaceful, self-contained, and made for slow mornings, relaxed evenings, and easy island exploring.
The Space:
Art Lovers’ Retreat is a self-contained cottage arranged across two connected pavilions, giving the home a peaceful sense of separation while keeping everything easy and connected.
The main pavilion holds the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area. Beneath the high gable ceiling, the space feels calm, bright, and uncluttered, with natural light moving through the home during the day. The kitchen is fully equipped for relaxed breakfasts, simple meals, and quiet evenings in.
The bedroom sits in the adjoining pavilion, creating a private sleeping space away from the main living area. It has a comfortable king bed and a simple, restful layout designed for long, easy mornings.
The bathroom is beautifully presented, close to the bedroom, and adds to the calm, comfortable feel of the retreat.
The wide deck is the heart of the home. Surrounded by greenery and sheltered by the natural setting, it is a lovely place for morning coffee, outdoor meals, reading, or unwinding after a day exploring Waiheke.

The Neighborhood:
Art Lovers’ Retreat is set above Onetangi in a quiet, leafy pocket that feels private and settled while still being close to some of Waiheke’s best beaches, cafés, restaurants, and vineyards.
Onetangi Beach is a long stretch of white sand, ideal for swimming, morning walks, and relaxed beach days. Close to the beach, you’ll find local favourites including Charlie Farley’s and the Beach Store for casual meals and coffee.
For dining, Three Seven Two is nearby, while Oneroa Village is a short drive away with more cafés, shops, galleries, and restaurants.
The Onetangi Valley is also known for its wineries and cellar doors. Tantalus Estate, Te Motu, Stonyridge, and The Heke are all within easy reach, making this a great base for long lunches, tastings, and relaxed afternoons out.
This location suits guests who want privacy and quiet at the property, with beaches, food, wine, and island experiences close by.

If you prefer to explore independently, hire cars, taxis, scooters, and e-bikes are available across the island. There is on-site parking for one vehicle at the retreat.
Other Things to Note:
