Be prepared for the cold!
A beautiful spot. Very clean and sleek. An urgent upgrade however is a thicker and larger blanket as it was very cold. Unlike a small tent that eventually maintains heat, the vast space of the dome meant it was cold and stayed cold! We slept with thermals, beanies and gloves! Not sure if the solar panels could even support a small heater to take the chill off the air? The bed mattress is also pretty hard but overall we had a pleasant stay in a unique accomodation.

Toilet
The potable onsite toilet was informed at late notice as not working and we were given an alt location to use; however it was a bit of a walk after dark. The Dome itself was nice. Millie, the dog, was very lovely with occasional visits the camp spot, the farm animals was all part of our good glamping experience so we enjoyed it quite much actually. The owner’s responses were all prompt when we contacted and we appreciated his response. :)

We fell in love with this beautiful property while on a random weekend drive and were lucky enough to have the opportunity to purchase it in 2019 knowing nothing about grape growing- but we are learning and having lots of fun doing it! We are so happy we can continue to share the beauty of our farm with wonderful guests like you! We are learning so much about sustainability and are always adding to our ever growing collection of farm animals to help service our property, to love and keep us entertained! We love staying at the farm as often as we can and also have a fantastic manager on board who is only ever a phone call away.

Why they chose this property

Allusion Winery is located just outside the township of Yankalilla in the heart of the Fleurieu Coast.
We are an hour south of Adelaide, 30 minutes from Mclaren Vale and 30 minutes from Cape Jervis.
The 35-acre property has stunning views across the valley and out to the ocean.

Our Cellar Door is currently undergoing some upgrades and will be reopening soon.
We welcome all function enquiries including weddings, private gatherings, retreats and corporate events. We have so much to offer and would love to create a package for you. Including- Venue hire Accommodation Local food and Wine Beautiful surroundings (What more could you possibly need?!).

What makes this property unique

We absolutely love our animals and everything they are helping us create here at Allusions.

If going for a stroll around our grounds on our farmstay you will find-
Sheep and their merry ram- Gerald
Our beloved alpacas- Bessy & Becky (they aren't spitters!)
Spike the Horse
The Royal Chicken Family headed by Iosis and Hercules
Ray Martin and Larry Emdur the geese
Dianna the fluffy footed chook
Donna and Heather the barnaveldas
Cayuga Duck family
Wingo, Heidi, Jazz, Vanessa, Kira and Bruce the fluffy head chickens.
Spotty, mimmi, Alan and Charlie our super mousing shed cats

MILLIE-
Our beautiful 12 month old Maremma has joined the team as well.
Millie is here to learn to protect our animals and our property from predators such as foxes and snakes.
Shes is extremely friendly and playful but please do not call out to her or encourage her to approach you as her as she is on a strict training program to learn the ropes.
It is extremely detrimental to her training if she is given any attention.
Maremmas have a very different mindset to domestic dogs and even other working dogs.
After a maremma matures they really need to have a job and feel useful to the farm.
Or they can easily become a hinderance- to people and animals.

We need her to know the animals are much more fun to be around than humans!
If she comes up to you, let her do her 'maremma stretch' and sniff you.
Please do not play with her or cuddle her.
It is her job to protect our farm so she will usually try and suss out who is were and once she is happy she knows what's going on she will head back to the animals.
She is extremely sweet and has a brilliant nature, we promise she is totally loved!

It is extremely important everyone is aware of the rules for Millie’s training and your own well-being.

Our resident koala is Patty and we have an amazing flock of random birds, visiting lizard
and of course our beautiful grazing kangaroos.
