About this property

Large, Renovated On E. Lake Park! Comfy Cottage

Summary:
Welcome to our updated and tastefully appointed three-bedroom, 2 ½ bathroom single-family lake-view home! The perfect location for your next family or friends vacation! We are situated on a private cul de sac, perfect for privacy and the kids! We have a large backyard and are pet-friendly with a fee. We would love to host you!

The Space:
Guests can enter the house using a digital keypad. Once inside, to the left is the living room, and to the right is the first bedroom with a queen bed.
Straight ahead from the front door leads to the kitchen and dining table. You will also find a hallway leading to the first bathroom with a shower/tub, master suite, laundry area, a door to the patio, and a staircase.
Upstairs goes to the half bathroom and the two remaining bedrooms. Outside, our backyard has a table with four chairs and a BBQ grill.

Guest Access:
You will have access to the full house! The house has a digital combo lock pad. We will provide you with the code 24 hours upon check-in.

The Neighborhood:
East Lake Park is a 100-acre city park anchoring Birmingham 's North East Lake neighborhood, between 1st Avenue North and 3rd Court North and between 80th and 84th Street North. It adjoins Lynn Park across 4th Avenue North . The park was first developed in 1886 as a private attraction for the East Lake Land Company. This is a transitioning neighborhood. We think it is great, and have never had any security issues, but we understand that everyone has different experiences and want to make sure you are comfortable in our home. If you are concerned about the neighborhood, we would be happy to talk with you about it and answer any questions. We will not provide a refund upon arrival if you decide you do not like the area.

Getting Around:
This is a residential area, so driving is recommended, but Uber and Lyft are available in Birmingham

Other Things to Note:
We require a signed rental agreement and for guest to be 25 years of age to book.

If you notify us of your intent to cancel prior to the lapse of the free cancellation period, we will return 97% of your payment. The other 3% will already have been collected by the credit card processing company, and we have no way to return that portion of the payment.

There is a park across the street and lake to the right of our home. You can see the lake from kitchen window, back porch, and driveway. Neighbors house are really close and the back porch is next to neighbors house. There is a field to play soccer, throw football, ect. in front of the house. There is a baseball field to the right by the lake making this an excellent home for kids or for those who like to be active outdoors. This is a transitioning neighborhood. We think it is great, and have never had any security issues, but we understand that everyone has different experiences and want to make sure you are comfortable in our home. If you are concerned about the neighborhood, we would be happy to talk with you about it and answer any questions. We will not provide a refund upon arrival if you decide you do not like the area.

We are a pet friendly home. Pets must be crated when they are left unattended in the home. We do not allow pets on furniture or beds, and all waste must be cleaned up from the yard. All pets require a non-refundable pet fee. If there is evidence of pet hair on the furniture, excess hair in the home, stains, or waste found in the yard or home, you will be charged the cost to clean this. In the event that a security deposit is collected, we will retain all or part of the security deposit to cover any costs associated with additional cleaning due to pets.

Interaction with Guests:
We want to provide our guests with maximum privacy and flexibility, so we have check-in and check-out automated. We will call and touch base on the phone, and we can always have someone come and help if you need it, but otherwise, we will leave you and your friends and family to spend time together.

House was comfortable, neighborhood was in a rough part of town.
The property was clean, and large. Across from a park, but the neighborhood is the getto. It was the coldest part of the year, one day was 16 degrees. So no one was coming out of their houses. The security could be better, window a/c units, unlocked windows. Can see where the house would be hot in the summer. Little to no insulation. Water heater was not working, called/sent maintenance out to fix it. Power went out twice, blown transformer, toilet ran all the time, couple soft spots in flooring. At one point the house was 30 degrees inside. We still had a good time, I have a concern carry permit, recommended.

One of the best
Finally, we travel to Alabama for the Talledega race (we come every months), and we have a clean house. Not only clean, but as advertised! Will absolutely use this house again!

The tub didnt turn completely off so it was rough sleeping at night with the constant sound of water and i feel the cleanliness was not great. The front of the stove looked like toddlers used it to draw with food. We also had to figure a seperate way to get in(the backdoor) due to front door being chained when the family and i showed up in the dark with full hands after climbing the hill. We also couldn't park infront of the house upon arrival without having to ask the neighbors to move their vehicles. Overall for the price, last minute switch and it being a holiday not impressed.

To the right: Queen Bedroom, with 1 Queen Bed, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, and 2 luggage racks.

Dining Table that seats 6 people.
From there you will reach the Kitchen.

Is the kitchen table and 4 chairs refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, blender pots pans, and everything else you will need to make a nice home cooked meal.

To the left: is the first bathroom which is a full bathroom with a shower/tub.
To the right will be the Master Bedroom:
It has 1 King bed, 2 end tables, 2 lamps, 2 luggage racks, 1 closet also the 2nd bathroom is located in this room which is a full bathroom with a shower.
Straight Ahead: leads you to the washer and dryer, also door to patio and staircase to upstairs.
Upstairs Room:
After about (15) stairs you will have reached upstairs.
Straight Ahead: will lead you to the ½ bathroom which only had a toilet and sink no shower.
To the right: 1 Full & 2 Twin beds , 2 end tables and two lamps, 2 comfy stool chairs, and a small table.
Backyard/Patio:
Has a table with 4 chairs and a bbq grill. Once you go down (6) stairs which will lead you to the backyard from the patio area.
