Stay in a unique part of Australia’s railway history. Our movable vans were used by workers building the railways. Our smallest van would have been used for accommodation as would the van which is now a bathroom, the largest van was a school. It’s just a short walk into the township of Nagambie. There is plenty to do from walking, fishing, swimming, boating, wineries and restaurants. We have room for boat storage.

Thanks Danielle for your review. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay in the railway huts and their history.
Cheers Penny
The photos were deceptive making it appear that the huts were not near any other dwelling - they were only metres from the host’s home. This proximity made it impossible for privacy for guests and host. Communication from the host about their early morning (6.30am) visit from children for an easter egg hunt and family breakfast would have been appreciated. The beds were good and we let the host know we would be bringing our own sheets and pillows so they could save on washing. It lacked storage and hanging space with nowhere to put clothing or hang wet coats and towels. On a windy night the foliage near the huts banged on the walls and roofs. We later found the roof on the small hut detaching causing a draft during the night. No fly screens on the windows making it impossible to leave them open for fresh air without flies, moths and mosquitoes entering. No facilities to cook or re-heat food other than to make toast. 2 of the outside lights were not working and no pathways between the huts and bathroom or toilet. Going outside to the toilet during the night was unpleasant in the dark, cold and rain. The door to the bathroom was very narrow and we had to turn sideways to enter. The water went everywhere in the bathroom when you showered. On several days we returned from outings to discover someone had used the toilet while we gone. On our last day they hadn’t bothered to flush it. We were expecting a peaceful rural aspect. 180/night 10/night for pets was not value for money

Gayle I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. On the website it doesn't state that there are cooking facilities. I would have fixed lights if you contacted me. Definitely nobody used the toilet when you were not there again if you contacted me regarding this matter I could have assured you that nobody used this facility. As for the windy weather that I cannot control however I will look at roof and fix draft again this is something that could have been fixed if you contacted me. The photos I believe are not misleading but I will look at changing them. As for the Easter early morning it’s quite hard to have young excited grandchildren keep quiet doing hunt. Thank you for your feedback.

We loved everything about our stay. Beautiful little cabins with unique details and lovely garden surroundings. Enjoyed sitting outside on the warm summer evenings listening to the birds.

The property was perfect for us. I could not speak more highly of the hosts. They were so helpful and hospitable. The cabins are really cute. Everything we needed was supplied and if we needed anything, all we had to do was ask. I highly recommend staying here. The property was close to everything and plenty of space to spread out. Thank you for being such good hosts. We will definitely stay again. xx

A very tasteful presented, unique piece of history
Absolutely loved my stay. A quiet pocket in the centre of town. Modern conveniences that don’t distract from the charm of the setting. 3 pretty structures on wheels with flowers beds besides a small orchard & an original cottage. The shower & toilet caravan have sensors lights over the doors & timber steps. Comfortable double bed in the largest caravan with simple tea/toast facilities plus the bonus evaporative cooler.

The property was so far from our expectations that we did not stay.

It was my understanding that you cancelled your booking at the last minute. I was here all weekend and was available to discuss any concerns you may have had with the accommodation. I believe the photos are a true and accurate representation of the accommodation.

Quirky needs work
Toilet door didn’t shut, which for an outdoor toilet it needs to do. No head on the shower and very dark in the bathroom with mirrors at very odd heights.

Thanks Sally for your feedback. We have tried to keep huts authentic as possible which dosent suit everyone. Overall I hope you enjoyed what the region has to offer.

Penny was lovely to deal with. The location was perfect within walking distance to Main Street. The cabins were very cute and we enjoyed the outdoor area. However, our stay would have been a lot more comfortable with a few simple improvements. The mattress in the main cabin was extremely uncomfortable, my partner and I kept rolling into the middle so did not have one good nights sleep out of the four we were there. The ad states there is a kitchenette. This implies you can cook something. There are no cooking facilities besides a toaster. There was no heating so it was really cold at night. Having to get up to go to the outside toilet was not fun when it was cold and raining. The water went everywhere in the bathroom when you showered due to the awful shower curtain. The mirror was fine if you're 4ft tall. It could easily be hung at a reasonable height. Don't rely on the wifi, it didn't work at all the entire time we were there. There could easily be a latch put on the inside of the toilet to stop the door blowing open in the wind. Overall, I think this stay would rate as one step above camping. Fine for a one night stopover but thats about it.
We absolutely loved our stay at Penny’s. It was a unique experience to stay in these historical huts. We loved all the antique and rustic features. The property was very handy to town, being just a short walk to the lake and restaurants. The property was dog friendly which was a big tick for us as we love to include our two dogs in our adventures.

Thank you for taking the time to review my property. I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay in something a little different to usual accommodation. I’m sure you enjoyed what the region has to offer including your sky diving which I’m sure was amazing as one of my children and their partner did a while ago and loved it.
Thanks again Penny

Loved these little cabins, such thoughtful antique details throughout. We came here because it was one of the only dog friendly places and were so surprised, the pictures don’t show how lovely this place is. You get access to all 3 mini cabins, which include all the required basics with a vintage touch. Owner Penny is very friendly, we really enjoyed our stay. Definitely a unique place, very cool!
