Very clean and comfortable cottage. It is very peaceful and private, one of the quietest locations we have stayed in- no road noise whatsoever! The location was perfect for the places we wanted to explore. Seeing the tide rise and fall each day was fascinating and the stars at night were great!
We absolutely loved every aspect of the cottage. Kitchen was well appointed and views from dining table as well as living room and lanai were outstanding! Wish we could give a 10 star rating! Thank you for our stay. Just wish we could have stayed longer!
The cottage is in area off the beaten path. Very quite. Friendly neighbours. Lots of room both in the cottage and out in the yard. The view from inside the cottage or on the deck over looking the water was beautiful. Not far from the property is a set of stairs that go down to the beach at low tide. Was great. A perfect place if you want to get away from it all and enjoy the sites and sounds of the ocean.
My college roommate and I stayed here for the weekend of her daughter's wedding. It was clean, pretty and the views were stunning as promised. We didn't try all the amenities like the laundry and dishwasher, but the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed, should we have cooked.
Cottage was small but very clean and neat. Private location with dramatic views of the bay. Very comfortable for enjoying a visit to family in the Valley. Plenty of options within 20 minutes for interesting and delicious dining. Host was very welcoming andaccomoda
Host was very responsive and helpful whenever i messaged her.
Home is as advertised and very clean. Love the view when it's not foggy. Our last night we had excellent views across the bay and could finally see New Brunswick.
Paved road the last 7km is a bit rough but if you go slow its ok.
We would book again.
If you have ever wanted to wakeup to a spectacular sunrise and gaze mindelessly into the horizon, this cottage properties what you want. Nestled behind Aylesford Mountain is this quaint, peaceful, and restful cottage that will not only delight, but enrapture. On well kept acerage with a backdrop of forests and a scenic view of the coast line and an historic island in the fundy bay, the western tip of Nova Scotia, and the distant shores of New Brunswick, you will be mesmerized and feel contemplative. Sit at the Picnic table, on the deck or in the kitchen window and let your mind wonder. This cottage is a piece of paradise.
The view is lovely across the bay of Fundy. But other than that, this place doesn’t have too much to offer. It was bare bones. No lamps in the living room, no side tables in the living room. No pictures, no kettle, no Kleenex when we arrived, no dressers in the bedrooms and no deck furniture. It’s a ways from everything which makes it tough to just hop in the car to pop out to the store. Which is nice if that’s what you’re looking for.
Would not recommend if you’re looking for charm but if it’s a view then this is the place!
I was looking for a spot overlooking the Bay of Fundy, hoping to be able to see its dramatic tides from our front window. This place delivers on that; the porch has a commanding view of the bay. We had bad luck with weather and only one day with views unobstructed by fog, but that day and night were spectacular (including a dark sky view of the Milky Way at night).
There are several properties side by side, but we had plenty of privacy. Around one neighbor’s fence, a staircase with sturdy steps but incomplete railings descends down to a rocky beach, ringed with sheer cliffs. A freshwater creek drains into the Bay here (which made for a startling puff of steam that we could see from the porch at sunset).
Jessica was extremely responsive, communicating via the VRBO app promptly. The place is well kept, the bathroom has excellent water pressure. The WiFi was a bit inconsistent in speed and steadiness, fine for email, frustrating for streaming.
To get such a spectacular view, the place has to be fairly remote; 10 km of poorly maintained asphalt from Route 101. The nearest big town of Berwick doesn’t have much, and most restaurants and supermarkets in the area shut down by 8 p.m. Digby and Lunenburg are 100 km away. But for a real Fundy experience, this place is perfect.
We had a 2 night stay here and unfortunately it was foggy for the majority of our stay. We had about 1.5h with a very good view of the ocean which was beautiful. Loved having a dishwasher and washer dryer! Yes, spacious and clean, but upon arrival the place was full of flies; we quickly learned these were drain flies and the problem was just dreadful. If you dared pour a glass of wine they were all over it. We understand these things can happen and can only be managed if the property owner is advised; we left a note for them and evidence of the problem and trust the problem will be fixed. The lighting is brilliant white (no escaping it); we suggest a lamp or two with softer white lights. The couch was unbearably uncomfortable, and no coffee or end tables to put a drink, munchies etc. There are no bureaus which we found odd. We suggest adding a long rod in the LR closet with hangers to help mitigate this; we were fine as a short visit but were thinking of families who may be there for longer. Beware: Checkout time is 11 am SHARP! We received a call from the owner at 1115 and did not appreciate the tone of the call. We were already rushing to get out, as are respectful adults and were gone by 1126 (not because of the call). We do apologize for the delay; we are 3 sisters in our 60s (all professionals), and firmly believe the call should have been more respectful and polite. We ensured the place was very clean when we left. We would not go back for many reasons.
L'hébergement était incroyable, propre et avec beaucoup de commodités. Un site enchanteur qui nous offre des couchés de soleil incroyable. Nous vous le recommandons sans hésiter.
Well I must admit the overall experience was awesome. To start off with the scenery from the rental was spectacular. The ocean was very still and just amazing especially going down to the beach once the tide went back. Just an FYI wear shoes not sandals because the rocks could be treacherous.
The seals were playfully awaiting us and if you like walks bring a snack with you.
My daughter went swimming in the ocean and she loved it.
Now if you want solitude then you don't have to look anywhere else. I also think that the people who live in such beautiful isolated areas just want the quietness surrounded by the noises of the wild, ocean tides coming in, and nothing else.
We saw owls, wild rabbits, pheasants and at early evening had the bonfires going only to enjoy the heat and having marshmallows, hot dogs, and s'mores galore.
The rental was spacious and very clean.
For a family of 5 we were comfortable and i think if friends wanted to get together this would be the perfect spot to relax and have fun or just some quality time alone.
I would do this again. If my family and especially wife was happy then that is a win in my eyes.
Thanks and we will be b.ack
The view was second to none. The cottage was even better than pictures.Host was wonderful
It was easy to rent, but just know you pay upfront , not a few days before arrival,. It was a fabulous getaway and great connection with nature….call Jessica to get directions to get to the beach to clarify before going.
