The space
Welcome to The Little Lake House, a cozy 1,000 sq. ft. cabin designed for relaxing getaways! This charming retreat features two bedrooms and one bathroom, perfect for a family or small group. The primary bedroom boasts a luxurious king-sized bed, while the second bedroom has a fun single-over-double bunk bed—great for kids or extra guests. The cabin’s full kitchen is equipped with stainless steel appliances and all the essentials for cooking up delicious meals. The main area is flooded with natural light from large picture windows that offer stunning views of the lake and visiting wildlife throughout the day. This lake is best suited for enjoying the view and nature rather than boating or swimming. Step outside to enjoy the backyard firepit, perfect for roasting marshmallows under the stars. The property also features nearby hiking trails, ideal for nature lovers and dog walkers. With free WiFi, a Smart TV, books, and board games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy indoors, too. Located just 10 minutes from Stony Plain and 30 minutes from Edmonton, this little escape offers the perfect mix of seclusion and convenience.
Neighborhood overview
The quaint village of Spring Lake sits along the shores of Spring Lake and is known for its quiet, peaceful atmosphere and beautiful natural setting. Once called Edmonton Beach, the area is now a calm, low-speed lake community that attracts guests who enjoy nature, birdwatching, and relaxing outdoor time rather than busy beach crowds. To help protect the environment and wildlife, the lake has a 12 km/hr speed limit and preserved natural shorelines.
Spring Lake is especially loved for its abundant wildlife. The lake is stocked with trout and is home to many varieties of waterfowl and birds. It’s common to spot pelicans, beavers, and other wildlife around the shoreline and on the water, making it a wonderful place for paddling and nature viewing when conditions allow.
Water levels have been low and unpredictable in recent years, and shoreline areas are often shallow and muddy due to the protected natural habitat. Guests typically enjoy the lake most for its views and wildlife, and visit nearby parks and beaches for swimming and full water access.
Notes:
• One dog under 50 lbs allowed per stay with a $50 pet fee. No cats. Please disclose at booking so we can prepare pet amenities and add the fee. A signed pet waiver is required.
• Maximum 5 registered guests on the property at any time. No unregistered guests or parties.
• Spring Lake is best enjoyed for views and wildlife. Water levels are often low and the shoreline is shallow and muddy, so swimming and launching watercraft from the dock is not reliable.
• Good swimming and beach options are nearby within a short drive, including Constable Chelsea Robinson Park and Wabamun Provincial Park.
• Lake speed limit is 12 km/hr and shorelines are natural with reeds and soft lakebed areas.
• Backyard is large and open but not fenced.
• Please supervise children and pets near the lake and dock.
• Security camera at the front entrance for safety and insurance.

Host was very responsive and welcoming. The home was clean and so welcoming, with a dog bed too. Bed was very comfortable. Couch too, so comfortable. Snow storm showed up a day after we checked in so we didn't spend much time outside but the yard was huge, fire pit was clean, lots of wood available. We were very pleased to have the little welcome package which includes a personalized note and brochures on things to do in the area. We would definitely stay again and have recommended this place to our friends.
Everything was amazing. The house is beautiful with everything well planned and organized for your stay. We went with our dog and 1 year old son and they loved it too.
We enjoyed a beautiful and quiet weekend getaway. The view was spectacular, the house was clean, expertly decorated with a great ambiance for relaxation. We especially enjoyed the added touches for the dog (cleaning blanket, bed, doggie bags) and the added amenities (well stocked coffee/tea bar, wine and snacks on arrival, great smelling soaps). Thank you for the peaceful retreat!
Our second time staying here. Its a great place to relax by the lake and there are lots of family friendly parks and activities in the neighbouring communities.

It was a pleasure to host you and your family again, Andrew!
We had a wonderful time on our annual New Years trip to the little lake house! We enjoyed this visit without the kiddos but it’s been fantastic for us as a couple and as a family. We can’t wait to visit again, maybe a summer trip!

Thanks for staying again, Sara! We're so happy you enjoyed your stay again. We'd love to have you back.
This was a great place to stay. It was redone inside beautifully. Honestly 10 stars. With it having direct lake access, it would’ve been nice if paddleboards, kayaks and such were available so we could enjoy the water. It also would’ve been great if there was a BBQ on the back deck.
It was a nice little getaway. Quiet with beautiful view and surroundings. Enjoyed a paddle on the water and morning coffee on the dock. Looking forward to coming back.
Our family had the best time staying at this property. It was exactly what we were looking for. The layout and furnished were wonderful - we may renovate our bungalow to match! Such a pleasure to stay right on the water, do some boating, and just relax! Thank you!

Claire, we're so happy that you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for being such great guests!
We were looking for a birthday trip to get out of the city but didn't require hours of driving; this property was perfect. It's exactly as portrayed in the photos and was a peaceful and quiet retreat. Much gratitude to Sean & Christina for sharing this little oasis.
The cabin is cozy, very well appointed and very clean. We had a nice stay, albeit short due to illness. Don't forget your binoculars when coming here as the bird life is plentiful!! Even a muskrat lodge off to the side of the dock.

5 Star rating all around - from hosts, to cabin, to lake view, to cleanliness, to peacefulness. We have stayed here a few times over the past couple of years and will definitely return when we need to get out of the City for a break.
Thanks Sean and Christina! Norma and Frank

Thank you for your lovely review, Ellen! We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay. You were lovely guests, and we'd welcome you back any time.
We enjoyed our stay at this adorable cabin! Sean and Christina were very accommodating and so welcoming! The only downside was there’s not a dock yet, so it was difficult to get onto the lake- however they made sure we knew this before we went out :)

We're so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, Jenysa! Thank you for being such lovely guests. Yes, as stated in our listing and our guide book we don't currently have a dock, but we are hoping to have it completed soon as we know it will make for a more enjoyable launch experience. Thanks for staying!
From start to finish, this was an amazing rental experience. The property is clean, well furnished, and has everything we were looking for. The attention to detail from the hosts is notable, as they even provided for our dog (a cozy dog bed, poop bags, dog towels, treats)! We loved our stay here and hope to be able to visit again in the future. It was so cozy and comfortable!
I stayed from June 16th to June 28th by myself to visit family living close by. I took my grandson for long walks almost every day. Very safe and peaceful area. Many walking trails and constant birdsong. Absolutely loved the house, clean, classy, cozy and relaxing :-)

Why they chose this property
Have you ever fallen in love with a place the moment you stepped foot on it?
That’s how we felt when we found the dilapidated little cabin we now know as the Little Lake House. The cabin was in the most beautiful location on the shores of serene Spring Lake, but it needed some care. In October 2020, we purchased the property, and shortly thereafter demolition began!
To say this renovation was a challenge is an understatement. We gutted the home right down to the studs so that we could properly insulate it and make it safe and cozy for us and our guests to enjoy.
We love this little property and have already created many precious memories with our children here. From paddleboarding together to working as a family to create a welcoming retreat, we’ve come to love this little lake house even more.
We can’t wait to share it with you.
We want the Little Lake House to bring peace to every individual that enters its doors. We want you to fall in love with this little property just like we did. At the cabin, we hope you will find:
A welcoming, family-friendly environment A serene oasis to enjoy nature at its finest Everything you need to feel perfectly at home
What makes this property unique
The view of Spring Lake from the open-concept living room and kitchen is what made us fall in love with this home, and we hope you love it too. Since we renovated this cabin from the studs up in 2021, we also hope you'll enjoy all the new finishes and designer touches.
