Our family had a great time in this house. We went to explore Joshua Tree National Park and had an amazing time. Coming back to a cozy house was the best part.
Great small house for a couple of old friends meeting up in Joshua Tree. It was quaint, comfortable, and nicely decorated. Great backyard with hammocks and a fire pit. It was an easy walk to the restaurants and shops in Joshua Tree and a short drive to the entrance of the national park.
Our stay had several issues that future guests should be aware of.The most significant problem was the lack of hot water for more than half of our stay. While we understand that technical issues can happen, we notified the host and gave them the opportunity to resolve it. Hot water was not restored until around 7 PM the night before our checkout. The property is advertised as having a “game room,” but several items needed to actually use the games were missing. The basketball hoops had no usable basketballs (the ones present were deflated), the air hockey table did not have pucks or paddles, and the foosball table was missing balls. This made the game room unusable and disappointing given how it was promoted in the listing.Another concern was the condition of some of the bedding, which appeared to have what looked like blood stains. This was unpleasant to discover and something that should be addressed by the cleaning team.A smaller issue, but worth noting for future guests, is that the property did not have paper towels available. We hope the host addresses these issues so future guests can enjoy the property as advertised.
I spent 10 nights at this adorable house with the yellow door! Everything went well and was pretty much perfect. The bed, bedding and pillows were the comfiest I have ever slept in & I’ve stayed at a lot of vacation rentals. The location is amazing for walking to shops and restaurants. And the entrance to the park is just a short drive away. The hammocks make for a great late afternoon rest with a book and a glass of wine.
We’ve stayed in a handful of hone rentals when we stay in JT and this one was one of our favorites thus far! Very comfortable house to easily settle in. We love the cowboy tub in the patio! Had a small hiccup with it and the owners were quick to fix. Communication was excellent!! Thanks so much!!
Very nice spotless house right near the small downtown area and at the foot of the park entrance. Beautiful and relaxing property. One thing to watch for are uncollared dogs running near the apartments on route 29-one darted in front of my car and we narrowly averted disaster. No fault of our host whatsoever

Pretty good
The house is really cute inside but we had some issues with cleanliness. Some of the sheets were stained and dirty - crumbs and hair. The freezer had melted ice cream frozen to the bottom. The bathroom floor was also dirty. We called, emailed and texted the property manager but never heard a word back. We cleaned things ourselves and made the best of it. Beds were comfortable.
We felt like this was going to be a very good fit for our family. Unfortunately we were unable to use the bunkroom because of cockroaches and a large spider and door that doesn't lock. Our kids had to all share 1 bed in another room of the house. After a hot morning in at Joshua Tree it was nice to come back to air conditioning and relax with movies on the many TVs. The game room was pretty hot in the afternoon, but we did get out there to play a few times. The kids enjoyed that. I was also thankful for the washer and dryer and well stocked kitchen and bath towels.
If the bugs were taken care of, the back door locked, and the game room had a fan or air conditioning it would have been great stay!

Very Disappointing
This house is a stinker, and I mean that literally. Upon entering the house we were overwhelmed with a terrible moldy odor. The owners are clearly aware of this and attempt to hide the smell with deodorizers, which just makes it worse. On top of that the sheets were stained and full of grit, and the bathroom was not cleaned properly. The kitchen lacks a dishwasher, but a new sponge was not provided. Bring your own sponge! We had booked four nights, but left without staying a single night, as it was just too awful. Based on our experience I would advise avoiding this property.

Hi Francis, The homeowners were surprised to read your review, as they are accustomed to providing 5-star experiences and would like to clarify the following:
- We appreciate your review, Francis, but are saddened by your feedback as we take great pride in our home, which reflects in our positive reviews
- We use a cleaning service that professionally cleans our home before each guest's arrival. We wish you had reached out during your stay if there were any issues you needed addressing. We would have done everything we could to resolve them immediately so that you could enjoy the home
- We have never experienced issues with mold in the rental, so we aren't sure why you think we are covering up a "moldy smell". We've never had any issues with the way our home smells
- While we do regret our home was not up to your expectations, we are happy to report that our guests haven't reported any issues since your stay
We go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Perfect for the Joshua Tree experience!
This property was exactly what we were looking for to accommodate a small group of adults on a writers retreat. Quiet, convenient, comfortable place for a working trip.
The home is somewhat simply outfitted (one bathroom, no dishwasher, no on-site laundry), but the bedrooms are clean and cozy and the living areas accommodating for independent work and group collaboration. We also fell in love with the little patio area on the east side of the property, where we sat and read our work allowed to the other writers at the end of each night. (Though I did not personally try them, our younger participants also enjoyed the MANY hammocks on site.)
One of the best parts of this property is the location. We made one trip to a grocery store about 2 miles away to equip ourselves for the stay. Everything else is walking distance. There are some lovely places to eat (JT Country Kitchen and Joshua Tree Saloon were our favorites), a farmer's market down the street on Saturday, a library, and tons of boutiques that gave us the full "Joshua Tree experience." It's also about a five-mile drive from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park for those who are interested in the hiking/rock-climbing opportunities.
I must also give a shoutout to the property owners/managers, who were extremely responsive and accommodating anytime we had a need or a question.
No hot water until our second afternoon at the property. Dirty floors. No WiFi. No air hockey puck or foosball balls. Basketball machine without power. Floodlights on eaves shone into bedrooms at night sporadically. I did receive a small refund from VRBO. The home is spacious and our kids enjoyed the cowboy pool.

Good house. Host slow to resolve problem with gas
The house was nice, clean with comfortable beds (4 stars). Giving 3.5 stars because of the amount of time spent trying to get help from the host. The listing was accurate EXCEPT that not all of the appliances worked, including that the gas to the stove was cut off so we couldn't cook the entire stay (despite the nicely laid out dining table implying dinner parties happen here). The coffee maker was also broken, so we resorted to microwaving hot water and dinners. Unfortunately the gas was unable to be fixed until the morning we checked out - we could have dealt with this if told up front, but the host kept promising it would be fixed the next day, then not responding when we came home each evening with still no gas. Less enjoyable stay for lack of clear communication.

Christine, we want to make vacation rental easy for everyone, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your stay. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to share the following:
Prior to your arrival, the old stove had a gas leak which resulted in the gas being shut off. We sincerely apologize for we didn't realize the replaced stove was gas instead of electric. We are looking into the coffee maker as we were unaware of any issues. We appreciate your feedback so we can continue to improve and help this homeowner provide guests with a 5-star experience. We hope to host you again soon!
Clean and well located, very close to restaurants in Joshua Tree, and close to the park. Each room has its own heater, which is nice in the winter. We'd stay again next time we're in the area!

Awesome location and very clean home
I stayed for 9 days and loved that I could walk into town each morning to get coffee and breakfast. The home was very clean and well organized . I also enjoyed the patio area each morning before I went into the park. The kitchen had everything I needed since I cook most meals . I would definitely stay here again . Susana was also very responsive when I needed to ask questions.

Clean house and helpful owner
The place is clean. And the owner is very helpful. We left our iPad behind and contacted the owner. She shipped it back the next business day for us. Walking distance to town.
We loved being so close to the Joshua Tree park entrance. We could also walk to a great coffee shop called Joshua Tree Coffee. The decor of the house was darling. We were concerned about staying cool on such a hot weekend but the air conditioning worked beautifully and we slept well. Would definitely come back again to this beauty!
We loved the house. Just the right size for our family getaway. The kitchen has the basics not a lot of varity of pans. Beautiful kitchen tabel. Loved the hammocks in the back yard. The location is ideal, walking disctace to stores and resturants. The park entrance is just up the road.
We stayed in this house for a week while we got to visit Joshua Tree and the nearby area. It's very conveniently located next to one of the entrances near Joshua Tree and by the business area of Joshua Tree. The house has plenty of room for a family of 5. The kitchen is fully stocked with appliances (with the exception of a dishwasher). Rooms are very clean and spacious. The property has a great game room for the kids to play some air hockey, basketball shootout and foosball/minibilliards. Our family was able to make use of everything and have a great time exploring Joshua Tree to its fullest by having such a nicely located central point as our base camp.
Great for a family, close to park entrances and town
We had a wonderful four-night stay here! The house is perfect for a family staying a few days. We all had plenty of space and were able to make a few meals in the kitchen to economize. The house is a short (6-7- minutes) walk to a number of restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops, a JTNP visitor center, and convenience stores, yet distant enough from the main road that we didn't hear any noise from town at all.
The house is located about 15-20 minutes from both the Black Rock Campground (and its several trails) and the West entrance to the Park. We went in to Quail Springs at night for stargazing, and did a lot of driving and hiking in the park, always happy to return to the little house.
The door lock was easy to operate and nice to have a code so we didn't have to share a key and could return at different times. We ran out of a couple of things (e.g., hand soap) and texted the owner, who brought new supplies within just a few hours and was very accommodating.
Highly recommended!
The stay was beautiful I didn’t want to leave. The place was quiet, cozy and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. The host was even nice enough to leave water bottles and some nice gifts. I was able to be in contact with the host the whole time, she was extremely helpful and quick to respond. I would definitely come here again.
