"Baker's Cottage" in Historic Richmond, Sleeps 6
Summary:
Take a trip back in time at "Bakers Cottage", a historic 1830s cottage, newly renovated and full of character. Located in the heart of historic Richmond Village, it’s just a short stroll to shops and sightseeing, 26 minutes from Hobart City, and 21 minutes from Hobart Airport. The cottage features an open-plan kitchen and dining area, bathroom/laundry, separate toilet, formal lounge, three spacious bedrooms, and a beautiful sunroom—an ideal base for exploring Southern Tasmania.
The Space:
Introducing the wonderful "Bakers Cottage" blends rich history with modern comforts, offering a homely atmosphere that's both charming and convenient. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with modern amenities, including a dishwasher and microwave, while the comfy lounge room includes a TV and free WiFi. The bathroom provides towels, toiletries, and a front-loading washing machine.
Step out of the open-plan kitchen onto a newly paved alfresco area, perfect for dining, with a BBQ and beautiful garden views. The surrounding gardens feature a variety of fruit trees, including nectarine, apricot, apple, mandarin, lime, lemon, and more. Ample off-street parking is available for multiple vehicles.
Guest Access:
Guests have full use of the home for the duration of their stay.
The Neighborhood:
Richmond is one of Tasmania's most popular visitor destinations, showcasing Tasmanian colonial heritage at every turn. Heritage-listed buildings and features are found on almost every street, so that even a casual evening stroll offers insights into early colonial life.
Richmond Village is situated in the Coal River Valley, one of Australia's first food bowls supplying new settlers in Tasmania. Agricultural enterprises continue to this day, supplying local chefs and cooks with a abundance of meats, berries, stone-fruit, vegetables, chocolate, honey and dairy products to accompany the region's famous wines, ciders and beers.
Deciding whether it’s a long Sunday lunch or a cosy fireside dinner, options abound. Relax whilst someone else cooks for you, pack your own picnic and head down to the Village Green, or perhaps a BBQ at home the cottage
