About this property
Perfect for your skiing & golfing holidays or getting away with the family
Nestled between the Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu, in the shadows of The Remarkables ski field and the Jacks Point 18 hole Championship Golf Course, Lumberbox Lodge is nothing short of spectacular. Named after the creek in the alpine ravines behind, everything about this home reflects its natural surroundings. Nothing overlooked, from a spa surrounded by native shrubs to designer furniture and New Zealand art. Everything you could possibly need whether here to explore or relax.
Unfortunately we don’t live locally but we have our manager (Deborah from The Butler) on hand who is ready to help out if need be.
Lumberbox lodge is just an 8 minute drive from Queenstown airport and into Frankton shopping area. There you will find large supermarkets, a full range of shops and many cafes. Queenstown is a 20 minute drive away. The Jacks Point golf course is only a short walk or minutes drive . There is over 35km of walking, hiking and cycling tracks right at the back door. It is less than 1 1/2 hours drive from Invercargill and is on the route from Queenstown to Milford Sound. And only two minutes drive to the base and entrance of the Remarkable’s ski field.
We give you the convenience of checking in when you wish by providing you with a lock box number for easy access.
3 - 5 days before you arrive we will send you a email with lockbox codes and a link with directions and guidebook.
You have the whole house to yourselves. The large open plan living, kitchen and dining area is the perfect space for your family to gather. The living area, anchored by a large cosy NZ wool rug has divine linen and leather seating and is flanked by a closed in fire. A large Smart television on a black panelled wall will keep you entertained. The rimu farmhouse table with original Eames DCW and Panton chairs from Germany seats ten and provides a great focal point for family dinners. The kitchen island has bar stools to gather around or just to share a drink when preparing dinner or having a casual breakfast.
There are three good sized bedrooms. The master has a comfortable chair to read a book in the sun or watch television. There is a deep bath in the ensuite bathroom along with a shower and twin sinks. The middle bunk room boasts a large custom built king single bunk bed so is larger than the standard single size. The closet in this room has been turned into a closet office with desk and chair. A perfect place to do some work or put the PlayStation or other games you wish to bring with you. The second double bedroom has a comfortable bed with tufted headboard and sumptuous linen. Wedged between the last two bedrooms is the laundry with access to the spa pool. There are enough hooks to hang ski gear or damp bathrobes in the laundry. Outside on the desk is a stunning wood and steel dining table from California which also seats 10. Relax on one of the four day beds complete with padded full length squabs/cushions. The whole lodge houses much New Zealand original art tastefully selected and placed to reflect the surrounding wild and bird life. The kitchen is fully equipped offering appliances such as a Nespresso Machine, smoothie maker, rice maker, slow cooker and blender. You will find this home has everything you need for a very comfortable stay.
Please note that breakfast is not included but we do have tea & coffee making facilities. At this stage the garage is not accessible but there is ample on-site and off- street parking.
It really is important to have a car in Jacks Point. It will make access and getting around more enjoyable. When choosing Jacks Point you are choosing a luxurious home but also the serenity of the landscape and all it has to offer, yet it is close enough to the hustle and bustle of Queenstown only 20 minutes away. There is a bus which goes into town which takes about an hour due to a stop in Frankton. Taxis are readily available both ways. Bike hire is available in town.
The garage is not accessible to guests but there is ample on-site and off site parking.
Dogs allowed - subject to prior approval. Must be house trained.
It is important to read the house rules regarding the spa and that you add the spa sanitiser every night it is being used.
