About this property

Ranger's Perch - Gorgeous Villa with Direct Sea Access, Pool, Views!

***Newly renovated pool and pool deck!***
***Newly renovated screens and stainless steel railing on the upstairs screened-in porch!***

Ranger's Perch is a spectacular, spacious villa in the upscale neighborhood of Sabadeco. If you're looking for a bonafide island sanctuary, look no further. Enter our gate, and from the lush, landscaped gardens to the beautiful pool area, you are sure to become lost in your gorgeous tropical surroundings. From the second story of the villa one may enjoy spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea and of Klein Bonaire. A screened-in deck runs the length of the home from which views of the garden, pool, and (of course) the sea are not in short supply. A large open-air terrace sits beside the screened-in area, as well. From this terrace, a better view of sunsets over the sea and the brilliant starry skies to follow cannot be found. In the mornings, feel free to sip your coffee in one of these areas as you enjoy your view of the sea, complemented by the sounds and sights of visiting parrots and other birds.

For divers and snorkelers, this villa reserves a very special and rare surprise. Through a gate in the garden one may enter a green space of which use is exclusive to this villa and a few immediate neighbors. A 1-2 minute stroll down the concrete sidewalk through the center of the green space takes you directly to the sea! There, you will find a steel ladder into the water for diving, snorkeling, and swimming entry/exit. Just up the shore from YOUR PERSONAL dive site are the popular dive sites "Oil Slick Leap" and "1,000 Steps." Just down the shore are the dive sites "Andrea I" and "Andrea II." When your dive is complete, simply skip back up to the house, rinse your gear in the dive tubs, and throw it on the line or inside on the drying rack! You're now ready for round two!

The second story master bedroom of Ranger's Perch boasts both a private balcony and a large, private terrace (both with broad views of the Caribbean Sea). Please enjoy the master bath's spectacular marble finishes! The additional bedrooms each have a private entrance that opens toward the pool area on the lower level. With ensuite bathrooms, mimicking the beautiful marble of the master bath, these rooms are fully equipped and private. The fourth, twin, bedroom has an adjacent bathroom.

This villa is a lucky recipient of some of Bonaire's pleasant, cooling breezes! When breezes are not enough, however, the villa has bedroom air conditioning. We offer 20 kwh of electricity per guest per day, more than enough to keep folks comfortable. A small deposit, called an Air Conditioning fee, will be held by the owners to cover any use over this 20 kwh per person per day. This fee will be returned promptly when unused. To date, we have not had an overage of use that concerned us, or that we charged for.

A fully-equipped kitchen allows guests the convenience of enjoying meals at home. There is no better meal-time ambience than that found while seated at the deck dining area as the sun sets over the sea. A large, stainless BBQ grill is also at your disposal.

Wifi and cable television will keep you entertained and connected during breaks between dives and donkeys!

Great house and great owner.

House is amazing. Can accommodate four different groups with no issues and the Kitchen is amazing. Pool is great for lounging and you even get to visit with the local lizards and parrots. Owner is super nice and accommodating even allowing us another night when our flights changed for no additional charge. Don't hesitate to rent this great home for a great vacation.

Ranger Perch Rocks

We love Ranger's Perch. It's in a great location, has a beautiful view to watch the sunset, is safe, and has plenty of space for groups to cook, eat, and relax by the pool or the screened in porch. The screened in porch is the best; we spent almost all our time there and could enjoy the breezes without any mosquitos!

Views, breezes, and tranquility!

We enjoyed this lovely oasis for an 8-night family vacation in July and it was one of the best VRBO homes we have rented! Very personal and informative check-in/out which was very useful. The views and the outdoor spaces were spectacular and the interior was comfortably furnished and spacious. Beds are comfortable, a/c worked well to cool the living room and all the bedrooms but the kitchen stays quite warm- even with the fan and all the cross-breezes. Not a big deal as spent most of out time in the ocean or in the pool! Oven was tricky but the new BBQ was terrific! We had plenty of room to hang all our wet items and dive gear outside and having the use of a washer/dryer was really nice. The location is a bit north of town and was super close to the most incredible diving. The neighborhood is peaceful safe, and absolutely quiet. We did need to contact the property management host for a minor issue with the gate opener FOB. They were very nice but we were stuck behind the gates for an hour waiting to get the truck out. Maybe a emergency bypass (?) Just a few suggestions for future guests- a few more kitchen tools: colander, coffee grinder (the market's pre-ground coffee is very fine and clogged the flat-bottom coffee maker), knife sharpening tool, maybe a few food storage containers, and definitely a few more cleaning supplies to help keep the kitchen tidy. Thank you again Maureen- we had an amazing vacation!

Paradise

The morning after we arrived at Ranger’s Perch I surely woke up in paradise. The balcony off our bedroom was tree top level where 2 parrots were finding breakfast. The pool was like a beautiful oasis in our courtyard. The home is palatial in size & the kitchen amazing with views in 3 directions.

Wish we could have stayed longer...

The house is wonderful and the property managers, Leanne and Dez, were extremely helpful with all our questions and addressing a couple of minor issues. It is a perfect location for accessing dive sites, grocery stores, and restaurants for dinner. Since not all of us were divers, the pool and the several porches/patios provided many options for relaxation. The screened-in porch was especially nice, keeping bug bites to a minimum. The upper deck was great for star gazing after dinner. We followed the recommendations to only run the AC at night and all units were great at cooling the rooms. Keeping the doors closed during the day kept the temperature at a reasonable level until the sun went down. We highly recommend Ranger's Perch!

Private sanctuary

My wife and I wery very, very happy with theis property. We thought the pool was wonderful/ It was only my wife and I , there is room for 4 couples to spread out or come together in multiple areas. This was our 7th visit to Bonaire and we have several houses over the years. When I asked my wife if she would like to return for an 8th visit to Bonaire, she told me yes IF we can stay at Rangers Perch.!! The ladder for access to the ocean could be challenging for someone older or younger esp. on a windy day, it was a great feature. Maureen and her people are doing a great job.

Great Home and Location

Great property for a large group! We loved everything about this house, especially the pool, screened in porch and large kitchen. The property manager was exceptional and very responsive - handled an issue we had quickly and professionally. The house met all our needs, was in a quiet neighborhood but close to dive sites and town. We will definitely be back!

Great Large Villa!

Wow! We had a great stay in this villa. The owners were wonderful to work with and were able to accommodate a couple of our special requests. Great pool. We used the beach path to the ocean every day for snorkeling and diving. Screened porch was wonderful for hanging-out in the evening without bug bites. The rooftop deck was our favorite spot to enjoy beverages and wonderful sunsets over the water. This was a wonderful home for our two families' Bonaire vacation. Highly recommended villa and owners!

WWCSL - Wish We Could Stay Longer

This is our 10th visit to Bonaire for diving. We usually stay in Belnem area. We decided to try the Santa Barbara neighborhood. Rangers Perch has a great view of the ocean from the top floor. Bonus was the screened in porch which is a rare find. Also, there is less construction noise and dust than in the southern area of the island. Loved waking up to the sound of Lora's, goats, donkeys and various wildlife. House is huge. Top floor is the primary bedroom, living, kitchen and dining. The rest of the bedrooms are on the ground floor by the pool. Screened windows on most of the top floor windows were great to keep out the mosquitoes. Only complaint was that the bedrooms on the ground floor could use screened windows/doors to prevent the musty smell and mosquitoes, even with ac on. Landscaping was beautiful. Dove off the house reef path and saw some octopus. Very nice. Beware the ladder is a little tricky but not horrible. Additional random thoughts: pool deck was not slippery or hot. Regular drip coffee maker (not pods) which was nice. House of many doors and confusing light switches, which we liked to goof on. Check in was actually 4 pm. (not a big deal after the truck pick up and grocery run depending on your flight). Nice area to clean/dry scuba gear. There was no mid week cleaning-just to clarify. Enjoyed our stay and appreciated the house and amenities.

Stop looking and book now!

Rancher’s Perch made our week stay on Bonaire complete. Four adult couples stayed at the house with plenty of room to spare! Very clean and comfortable, location is great. The 2 minute walk down to the water is a breeze and great place to see some lizards. Snorkeling off the ladder was very easy and we saw lots of fish. Maureen was so responsive in all my questions before we left and Frederick the property manager was SO nice and so responsive anytime I messaged him. I cannot recommend this house enough, will definitely be back!

Fantastic location and comfort.

Our recent stay was wonderful. Communications with the owners beforehand were so helpful and gracious (where to shop or dine; property features questions, etc.). Communication with the property manager was equally helpful and expedient (addressing minor repairs, notification of gardeners/pool maintenance, questions about the area, etc.). If you've been to Bonaire (or Curacao) before, you know that the heat and the mosquitos/bugs can be two problematic concerns. With regard to dealing with the heat, this property has an abundance of ceiling fans (not just bedrooms, but also living room, kitchen, and porch) as well as AC in the bedroom and in the living room! Plus ample shade opportunities around the pool,, etc. Our favorite feature was the sizable screened in porch! This allowed for "outdoor" dining and relaxing with a minimum of bug interactions. An aspect we didn't expect was the profound quiet. Other than faint construction or maintenance sounds, every day and night was punctuated by blissful silence, broken only by the occasional birdsong, etc. For certain, one needs a vehicle to get anywhere (shopping, downtown, any restaurant, etc.). We particularly enjoyed: Foodies, Karels, Blue Garden and Patagonia. The pool was amazingly refreshing. We are a bit surprised by the bottles of water ringing the edges, but the explanation that it stopped the iguanas from defiling the pool area was apt. We did have two resident iguanas who would visit daily for a sun session on the walls, as well as countless birds, butterflies, small lizards, and dragonflies. In the immediate area there are wild donkeys and goats as well! The path to the sea is a bit overgrown, and importantly the ladder itself has thin, round, iron rungs, so it does require a bit of effort to enter the water... but we were delighted with the convenience of that option! A few updates from previous comments: It is dark, but there is adequate light to get around, we brought an extra lantern and headlamp, but hardly used them. But if you are more serious cooks do bring your own spices, there are some basics but that's all. Two bathrooms had some plumbing issues, but there are so many it didn't create any problems. The house is immense and impressive; so much room to spread out! If you are coming with different couples/families, each of there bedrooms is en suite and the downstairs ones have their own locks and open to the pool area. Overall, we were very pleased.

Private Oasis

Summary - There were definitely a few things that are different from North American standards, but overall, it was a magnificent experience. Our flight arrived late and the property manager was there to meet us at the airport and escort us to the car rental and then off to the house for a quick orientation. The rooms and house were well appointed and had everything we needed. Waking up the next morning and seeing the property in full daylight was very impressive. The pool was amazing and we used it every single day. It was private and quiet with a few cameos from local wildlife (iguanas, lizards, hummingbirds, parrots, doves, etc.). There was some construction next door but it wasn’t overly bothersome. There is pool maintenance and landscaping once a week to keep everything tidy - but they were very respectful and unobtrusive. We had a few issues with power outages related to tripping of breakers - always in the mornings after a heavy rain, but easily reset and didn’t affect our vacation. Things to be aware of: The property is a fair distance out of town. Nothing is far in Bonaire, but you definitely need a vehicle and should be cognizant of how dark it can get outside of town. The property itself is amazing, but it is very dark. Some motion sensor lights would be helpful both in the driveway/entrance and the pool/hallway area downstairs. From a diver’s perspective, the (semi)private dock was amazing. Currents can get a bit rough but the location and underwater experience was fantastic. If you’re traveling to Bonaire, I would highly recommend Ranger’s Perch - we would definitely stay again.

Well Appointed House

We had a few issues with clogged drains and air conditioners however the property manager responded quickly and sent out service people to make repairs within 6-12 hrs . Otherwise the house was very comfortable for the five of us. It was nice that paper products were provided for entire stay. Also the kitchen was very well appointed including spices for cooking, dish towels, dish soaps etc.

Highly recommended

We had a wonderful week on Bonaire and really enjoyed the house. We loved the kitchen (loved the griddle on the 6 burner stove) and all the outdoor spaces. We could just walk down the path to dive and spend the afternoon at the pool or in the beautiful gardens. Lots of birds and lizards. Owners and mgmt company were easy to work with. All in all a great vacation.

Peaceful Repose

The property photos don't do it justice. The real experience is far superior. Great breeze day and night. Spectacular views. Easy access to town. Kitchen was well equipped but we only used for breakfast and lunch. Plenty of unique dining places in town. All with different offerings and all very tasty. From the roominess of the house, to the pool, to the great snorkeling and diving off the back beach access, this was the best choice for our family. Hope others will give Ranger's Perch due consideration for a relaxing time away.

Amazing villa and great location

This was our second trip to Bonaire and I cannot say enough good things about this villa. We traveled with a group of friends and the villa was perfect for us. It was spacious, very well maintained, had a great kitchen for cooking meals, the pool was large and great for relaxing in plus the location was perfect. The neighborhood is quite and very close to the norther dive sites which was very convenient. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Amazing stay

We rented this house with a family of eight and it was just amazing! The host Maureen gave us all the information before departure. And when we came to Bonaire Robur was there to check us in and help us. The house is neat, they really thought about everything, soap in the bathroams, toiletpaper, dishwasher tablets, even fresh beers in the fridge on arrivel. The bedrooms are really nice, each having their own bathrooms. Master bedroom is just a dream ,so pretty! The kitchen and living room spacious and really nice. We loved to sit at the outdoor screened deck and roof top deck to watch the sunset. The pool and garden are really pretty and every week a gardener and pool man come to take care of them. The stairs to the sea are just incredible! My husband and me dive and we saw amazing things there! Also did a ostracod night dive there and it was spectacular! Would love to come back!

Heerlijk verblijf!

My husband and I currently reside in Colorado, USA. After several trips to beautiful Bonaire with our two sons, we decided to look for a place to call home there!

Why they chose this property

We wanted a property with direct access to the sea. This beautiful property, just one lot from beachfront, was exactly what we were looking for! It truly is a spacious island paradise.

What makes this property unique

After our first stroll through the garden gate and down the path to the sea, we fell in love. The access that this home has to the water means so much to our family; all passionate divers and snorkelers!
