We had an amazing stay!! Loved the super cute bach, and it was so nice not to have to bring linen etc. Laura was quick to answer our (rather too many!) questions and was very friendly. Would definitely stay again :)
A true kiwi crib/bach experience. Quirky little place, had everything we needed and really comfy beds. Location is ideal for getting into the forest recreation area for runs, bike rides, dog walks. Quick walk to the pub and cafe, can’t ask for more! Great to be able to take our little dog with us too.
We had a great time away, and the house is located in a convenient part of Naseby. It's only a few minutes walk from the swimming dam/main entrance to the forest, and the pub in the opposite direction. Nice place to stay.
A classic kiwi crib right on the doorstep of heaps of walking and MTBing trails. Being able to have our 2 dogs with us inside the crib was just perfect.
This wee gem is perfect for the crib/ batch experience. Simple and cosy, we would definitely stay again. The location is perfect and Naseby is a delight.
We had a lovely time, experiencing both beautiful weather and rain. The Bach was very quirky and cute. We very much enjoyed what Naseby had to offer with all the wonderful tracks etc Laura was fantastic to deal with and answered any messages very promptly.
The property was perfectly place for us , so close to the mountain bike/running tracks of the water race.
Beautiful place, had everything we needed. Thank you 😊

Upgrades needed
Shower drainage was very average water upto your ankles, shower also leaked through wall to kitchen.
Quite a few rodents, got rid of one mouse from kitchen, heard more in outside sleepout scurry around in ceiling and walls.

So sorry to hear that the shower leaked into the kitchen - this was very concerning and we have since found out someone who had stayed had deliberately plugged the drain with a knob from the outdoor umbrella. This has now been rectified. Since your stay we have also laid traps and have found no evidence of mice either inside or in the sleep out. It is an old home but has been lovingly cared for and which we continue to update as we can.
A Convenient location close to everything in Naseby. As we were out of the cottage for extended periods each day it was difficult to keep the house warm during the winter conditions. The sleeping loft however was always toasty warm. An extra heater would have helped with quick heating on our return as the fire takes a long time to warm the lower area. The supplied portable heater warmed the toilet/kitchen area nicely. Despite the shower area having an open window the hot water /shower is the best we have experienced in Naseby. We did feel uncomfortable using the microwave as it is in a very unsafe location on top of the refrigerator, and Had I looked at the inclusions more closely I would have realised there was no hairdryer supplied. Hopefully this will be rectified for the next winter guests.
Overall we had everything we needed for our weeklong stay.

Thanks for your review Sandy. Yes you stayed at such a cold time with the hoar frost and night temperatures falling to -6 and sometimes not getting above 0 during the day so apologies the crib remained hard to heat at times. We will ensure to supply a hairdryer for future guests and continue to make upgrades to help make the place as cosy as possible, particularly in these cold months. Thanks for letting us host you :)
Great wee place to stay just a bit cold in winter despite a fire and heat pump! Extra heaters supplied which was great.

Why they chose this property
The Naseby Gem is very close to everything. Naseby is a wonderful getaway for anyone wanting a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can either actively relax or sit back and read a book on the deck.
What makes this property unique
Character bach/crib that is close to all of the fantastic things Naseby has to offer. A short stroll to the swimming dam in summer or the forest all year around which provides mountain bike tracks for people of all abilities. Across the road from the camping ground. Also close to town which has a great store, cafe and pub. In winter the iceskating rink and ice luge provides lots of fun, in summer there is the summer luge with curling something that can be tried all year around. Within the crib there is a number of games and DVDs for cold days.
