This property has the host onsite and the pool area/outdoor area is SHARED. We are a busy family who isn’t home very often but when we are I enjoy doing the gardening, mowing the grass and taking care of the pool. lol you can think of me as an on-site maintenance manager or best neighbor you’ll ever have. There are 3 bedrooms and 1 lovely bathroom. Deer and moose venture through the property regularly, this is a glorious summer vacation place where you get the best of both worlds; out in the country, but close enough for the festivities and amenities that the cities offer. Pool closed for the winter after Labour Day until just before May Long weekend And there are outdoor security cameras (even on the pool) For parties more than 14 people, there is an additional charge of $40each/night if they are staying over. Absolutely NO drinking and driving ever. Just let me know and I’ll bring over more blankets and pillows. Thank you for reading this ad and I wish you a wonderful vacation!

Comfortable house with a large pool. House has a couple of quirks but nothing that couldn’t be dealt with. Amanda was quick to respond to any questions we had. Overall enjoyed our stay
Amanda is a great hostess. There was adequate room for our needs, the pool was a great hit with our family. Recommend taking.plenty of water as though there is lots of well water, most of our crew did not care for the taste of it.
This property is wonderful. The house is spacious, clean, and comfortable. The pool is big, clean, and warm!! Amanda was a wonderful host and was very accommodating. We spent hours in the pool and were warm well into the night.
Thanks Amanda for hosting our group for the weekend.

It was a pleasure to host as your VRBO and I sincerely hope to see you again.
Amanda is an amazing host! The property was clean and had everything you need to stay. The pool was amazing and all 11 of us enjoyed it immensely. The house had lots of room for everyone to sleep, eat and be together to play cards or watch tv or just hang out together. We spent alot of time outside in the backyard or by the pool which also included a playcenter for the younger two grandchildren. The bbq was at our disposable to use as well. It was absolutely perfect for our weekend getaway. Amanda even brought out her two puppies for us to play with twice!! We highly recommend this property to stay at and we can’t wait to go back again!

It was my pleasure to meet you and your family. Thank you for being wonderful guests who were kind, respectful and super clean. You are the ideal guest and I look forward to your next visit.
I highly recommend this house. We had a family reunion in Edmonton and rented this home between 3 families. It was nice to be able to have visitors and it was perfect to be out in the country as we did get more visitors than expected. We were able to chat and visit without worrying about noise. It was one of the few homes that allowed events and encouraged fun. Not that we were rowdy or got crazy as most of us were between 40-70.
Amanda was very accommodating and helped out whenever needed. She was very fast at answering questions and providing things we needed. Thanks for a great time!

It was my pleasure. You and your family is amazing, kind, clean and always laughing. I hope to see you again.
The property was even nicer then the pictures suggested. The house was clean, and supplied with all essentials (kitchen pots and pans and coffee maker), washer and dryer, toilet paper, bedding. The house had a ton of room to sleep and relax in after a busy day and a relax in the wonderful pool area. The owner was kind and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed and made sure we felt very welcome to use the bbq by swimming area. I feel we hit the jack pot finding this wonderful gem of a house and would suggest to all my friends and family to stay here. My family is a family of 6, with 4 children and the house felt spacious with all of us and all of our stuff!

Come back anytime. It was an absolute pleasure meeting you and your family.
I believe in listing both pros and cons for every place we stay, so here you go:
PROS: Easy checkin process, host met us onsite and gave us a tour.
Host was very friendly, and responsive to questions or needs.
Fresh baked bread was a nice touch.
The pool was nice to have, pool area was clean, and safe, with toys
Nice spots for dogs to stretch their legs and do their thing.
Kids play structures for kids.
Quiet location and easy to find.
Beds were comfortable.
Deep freeze was available so nice to keep extra food for BBQing.
BBQ was available, clean and ready to use.
Nicely decorated.
Good supply of towels, linens, blankets.
Cons:Two portable AC units in the house but was still quite hot. Kitchen needs screens just to let some airflow in without the bugs.
The one AC not plumbed outside so bucket overflowed while we were away from the house.
No condiments.
Blew a couple fuses when cooking breakfast. ( host was quick to remedy)
The house could use a deep clean.
Frying pans are very scratched so food sticks to them. Keuhrig machine doesn’t work.
Limited big bowls and only a couple containers.
The wifi is very limited to the front of the house.
Cell reception is limited.
Livingroom TV is not wireless has a DVD player attached but no DVD’s available.
The taps and showers could use a descaling, main shower upstairs only dribbles straight down.
Could use more paper towels.
(A house rules/instruction book would be a great addition.) All in all great place
At time of arrival we were 25minutes early. OK ?? Greeted by a 15 year old boy that was quite rude/clueless said we had to come back after 5pm because place was not ready. He was going around the grassed in area that was for us to use scooping up poop from their 3 plus dogs they have on site. Could not use grass area at all. Not gas firepit as advertised.Once in house we noticed it was very dirty, stained furniture, dog hair everywhere, gyprock dust on floors in rooms, hole patches, dust bunnies in main bedroom, The water is undrinkable, had to spend $$$ on bottle water to drink , to make coffee . Barking dogs, could not open windows, got invasion of Flys, approximately 100 in our bedroom. Found one little fan as there is no air circulation in the place. Smelled moldy and musty. Screens on windows had duct tape holding them in place which didnt work as we were invaded by the flies. The pool area was filthy had not been cleaned up prior to us coming or even at all since last year as there was dead leaves and debris everywhere. I had to sweep pool area off myself. All pool area was dirty. Pool was not heated and when asked she said she would hear it on Sunday, we arrived on Thursday. On Sunday she had guests there. Humm henst heating pool Sunday??? I got her to do a walk through when leaving and everything was fine, then received message of broken things? Yes we did break the bracket on the pool basketball hoop, broken by a 9 yearsold.

Thanks for all your feedback, even though most of your horrible experience could have been avoided with better communication it’s a learning experience for sure. Do you remember when you arrived and I said “please let me know if you have any questions or concerns”? I’m curious why you wouldn’t let me know these things during your stay, so that I had a chance to rectify your issues and make your stay more comfortable. Instead you saved all your negative thoughts for a nasty review while being pleasant to my face.
Okay, let’s rewind to the night before and you said you’ll be here at 3:30 and I said I won’t be home until checkin at 4pm. My kids were doing their chores after school when you arrived, and my son who has always being commended on his kindness and he knows that doors open at 4pm, not his first rodeo. We have been doing this for 7 years. Very strange that you perceived him that way, however he will be more mindful of how he comes across in the future.
Unsure why you believed you couldn’t go on the grass, it was freshly cut, weed whacked and poop picked up.
Yes I agree that the house does have well water. We drink the water, it’s naturally mineralized and free of fluoride and chlorine; somehow we survive. Anyways I realize that it’s not for everyone, I will let future guests know to bring drinking water. Thanks, good point!
Flies…. Hmmm…. shut the doors. Maybe the windows need more duct tape haha!
Air circulation- leave the furnace fan on. I’m not sure why it was off when you left but that’s something worth mentioning. I could had fixed that in 1 second. I will leave directions for the thermostat for future guests. Thank you!
Pool area is outside so nature sure does happen and all we can do is our best here. It can be immaculate one second and a stiff wind or rainstorm can throw everything off.
Pool maintains a temperature 78-82 degrees F, and I did turn it to 85 on Sunday. The floating turtle thermometer should stay floating in the water to show you what the temperature is.
I’m sorry that you missed where the propane fire table is. It is on the patio by the shallow end with bar stools around it. I will make a map for future guests.
And yes I get it, everyone has a different standard for clean, but I must say on behalf of my poplar forest in June “welcome, enjoy the fluff (not dust bunnies), and farewell”
The rest of your family, grandson’s baseball team and their families seemed to enjoy themselves around the pool. I thought I was being very kind by accepting and accommodating all your guests.
It was an absolute pleasure to host for most of your friends, family, team and teams family. It is interesting because most of them were full of compliments and gratitude while I was running around maintaining the pool and fixing things your guests were too rough with. Everything was fine with you too until I gently reminded you that the pool area was a SHARED space. I got the impression that your group did not want to share when your son or son in-law (not sure) kept blocking my back door with my bbq. We only used the pool on Sunday, because my sweet kids were uncomfortable in their own pool area because they picked up on the animosity.
I agree that it was filthy when you left (I will have to increase my cleaning charge) and finally let’s review damages:
broke the bottom shelf on a bookshelf
Broke pool strap (I fixed while you were here)
Broke the metal bracket holding the basketball backboard to metal pole. I will leave a note for future guests that basketball hoop is for shooting but NOT for dunking. Thank you! I’m assuming that’s what happened but I could be wrong?
Inconsiderate happenings:
Knocked solar light off wall, then just leave it
Used our floaties and goggles and popped 2 floaties (one white swan and tube)
Missing white and yellow striped towel
And some of Your guests walked through my home, yikes too many people. In the future, I will not allow guests to have guests. Thank you for all these lessons.
Fantastic property, lots of space, very quiet, pool was amazing and heated. Amanda was a fantastic host, couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend Amanda and her beautiful house. We loved every minute and made lots of lasting memories. We will definitely be back.
We absolutely loved this property, the pool was fantastic and the host was so accommodating!

About the host
Hosted by Amanda Leigh Burrill
Just a Tinker fairy from Neverland who likes to bring friends and families together to create fun and memorable vacations.
Why they chose this property
Close to Edmonton and Sherwood Park, but far enough away to truly enjoy the stars at night and smell the country air. In the summer months enjoy the pool with kareokee and/or outdoor movie nights. Come in the fall and you'll get the most beautiful backdrop for family photos. In the winter we turn the small pond into a rink and put lights around it. Spring is the best time for airsoft or paintball marathons. Save money on hotels by sharing with friends during hockey/ringette/football/etc events nearby. Every year I'm making it more fun. I hope you'll come and enjoy this vacation rental and I wish you a wonderful vacation. Thank you for your time!
What makes this property unique
Pool is open from May long weekend until just after Labour Day Long weekend.
