Amazing space with plenty of room for a larger group to holiday together.
Close to the local shops and cafes and there is a park across the road for kids to play.
6 of us had a wonderful stay here. Great location - some noise from the road, but not enough to disturb us at all. Beautiful property, well equipped kitchen, lots of lovely spots to congregate - we had a great stay.
Great house, great location. Wendy was a good host, with easy communication. Enjoyed our stay.

This property is overpriced for its location and the fact it is relatively rundown and it presents in a way that is not at all equated with the price point. It has some nice features but overall it’s like an historic home with a motel bolted onto the back of it. The kitchen is the worst part of the house with very dated and grotty commercial appliances. The front living spaces are charming but unfortunately they are adjacent to the very busy Great Western Highway, which takes a lot of heavy vehicles at all hours of the day and night. The location is not disclosed until after payment is made, which is very sneaky and deceptive. On the upside it is a short walk to Blackheath village. The bedrooms are akin to 1970s motel rooms and the truck noise permeates every bedroom. Our bathroom had mouldy surfaces. In short, not the right property if you’re looking for high levels of cleanliness and peace and quiet.
Great venue for large group to stay, wonderful heritage house, easy check in and great communication with the owners. A few nice touches on arrival such as bottle of wine and chocolates as well as a few staples in the kitchen. Comfortable beds and decent pillows too! Would love to visit again.
Living areas and bedrooms restored to a high standard and extremely comfortable. Kitchen is oddly ancient and decrepit. Needs renovation. Great location close to shops and cafes.
We had an awesome weekend at Norwood Arthouse. The best bits being all the space for my friends & I, the great kitchen facilities, many bathrooms & the proximity to trails & Blackheath town center. Made the weekend super easy.
Great place for large groups.
Plenty of living areas to spread out in, although we found we only used 1/2 of them.
Wayne and Wendy were great with communication and very accomodating when we had an unexpected event take place.
Trains were a little noisy, but we were aware of this before we arrived.
Loved the Sauna !
What a beautiful property. With fireplaces and multiple sitting areas we were spoilt for choice of where to hang out. We had a large group and had a wonderful dinner that we cooked onsite. We were all able to sit at one of the large dining areas comfortably, then had a few wines in one of the sitting rooms.
The house is in a great location and Wendy and Wayne were very helpful with our requests. The welcome platter was a lovely surprise.
We would definitely be happy to stay again.
The property was stunning. Fabulous decor.
Plenty of room for 14 guests.
Large kitchen to prepare meals.
Each bedroom with its own ensuite plus extra toilets in the house.
Lovely garden to sit outside.
Perfect location to walk to local restaurants, shops and pubs.
The owners were quick to respond to any questions we had.
Highly recommend this property
Loved this property. Amazing special spaces in this house for a wonderful girls weekend away. All small things were provided. The backyard was beautiful as was the inside of the house. Space for great convos and yet all to still watch a great girlie movie. Away from the hustle bustle of Katoomba yet close enough to bush walks, beautiful restaurants and wonderful shopping at blackheath. We will return.
The house was welcoming when we arrived with lamps on and fresh flowers on the dining table. With 6 of us on the weekend we all had a bedroom with an ensuite. We loved that there are so many different living areas and the kitchen is very well equipped if you want to do serious cooking. The garden is big with several sitting areas as well as the fire pit and sauna. There is some noise from the highway and trains at night but not enough to be a problem.
Great property. Great experience. Things went smoothly from check in to check out. The house has a quaint old world charm. Thirteen adults enjoyed the many comfortable spaces, garden, fire pit and sauna. The location was perfect and the noise from GWH didn’t bother us much even at night as the bedrooms are at the back. Despite some previous reviews to the contrary we found the kitchen serviceable and adequate for a short stay. Family voted a return visit! Thank you Wendy and Wayne
This house had a lot of rooms to comfortably house 9 of us adults in queen or twin beds in 7 rooms. (A lot of houses offered a couple of queen beds and bunk beds for this number of people). All rooms had ensuites which was great. Being such a big house it had the potential to be cold but this house had more then enough heating. The large commercial kitchen was a bonus and we had a chef come in and cater for us. Having a sauna was super special too.
I will be informing property management of a couple of maintainance things to be fixed for the next people staying.
Norwood Arthouse worked well for our group of 11 adults, 1 toddler and 2 small dogs. Overall the house was clean, but the commercial kitchen was a bit dilapidated in parts and the gas range was tricky to light. Beds were very comfortable and the warming aircon was appreciated.
The 2 gas room heaters were awaiting service and it was suggested not to use them, but we had to anyway because it was 3C in the early morning....they worked fine.
Only real disappointment was that the biggest dining table was in the enclosed northern sunroom which is quite narrow. Once people were seated it was impossible to move past them....so all food had to be served only from the ends. It would have been an issue for our catered family dinner, so we moved a small round table to the other dining room and added it to the table already there so we could seat 12 people and allow the caterers to get around us. It would be better if there was a larger table in the main dining room.
Apart from that, we were very happy with our stay and appreciated the fire pit in the large back yard. We would stay again.

lovely heritage listed home
The property is very unique and was ideal for us (7 women), the home offered 7 bedrooms with 7 bathrooms which we all loved. The decor and styling of the living areas is really well done. The location to town and railway station is all within easy walking distance. The house is on the main rd, which we didn’t know when booking. Thursday night was very noisy with endless trucks and trains moving through town. Friday and Saturday night there was very little noise at all. The kitchen is an old well used commercial kitchen that was not clean and smelt of rancid oil. The frying pans were filthy with years of baked on food left on them. The two pots that we found were Teflon coated and all scratched up and not usable. There was a huge pot that had oil left in it on the shelf. We were disappointed as we did take food to cook for breakfast and were unable to do so. The house has a dishwasher but we opted to hand wash. The dish scrubbers that were left were old dirty and well used. There was fat left all splashed up the wall at the back of the commercial stove. The kitchen was very disappointing to say the least. All bathrooms need a cleaner with an eye for detail as all vanity taps have mould in the wastes and red mould/fungus around the taps that can easily be cleaned with some bleach and an old toothbrush. Suggestions to the host buy a decent set of saucepans and a stove. Have a cleaner that can clean properly in the bathrooms. With suggestions added we would recommend staying

Be warned! This place is not as described in the listing!
There were some positives which I note here:
Could accommodate 7 of us comfortable with own ensuite
Beds were comfortable and linen clean.
Excellent hot water.
But there were more negatives:
The house is on a terribly busy main road and the traffic noise is loud and continuous, even through the night and located directly opposite the rail line so trains also contributed to noise. Subsequently, we had very little sleep
The commercial kitchen was large enough to cater for a big group, but filthy ie splash back still covered in fat & had clearly not been swept or mopped properly which put us off cooking.
The plates, glasses etc were all mismatched and more suited to a large catering venue rather than a luxurious home
The bedrooms were dark and pokey not with furnishings as described.
There were not a full set of towels in all rooms.
The shower bases were disgusting, and all bathroom stuff was old. No electric blanket on bed
It was a cold weekend and there were only a few logs of wood (only supplied for winter months) so we had to buy wood, kindling and fire starters.
We moved a couch to find so much stuff (Christmas decorations) and mess underneath.
The actual couches and other furniture were also filthy
This house was quite odd and certainly does not reflect the grand descriptions portrayed.
At a different price point this property may be suitable for a group, but we were expecting something really special to celebrate our 60th birthdays and were highly disappointed.
