About this property

Great Vintage 2500sq ft. country cabin amazing river front setting!

This home is located in a very special setting. Most vacation homes on the street are set far back from the river. This home is closer yet higher which allows perhaps the best views of any vacation home in Scottsburg. You can fish directly from our landing at the bottom of the stairs or access the river from the bottom of steps on low tide.


Home has 3 very spacious bedrooms king size bed in master which is downstairs the 2nd bedroom upstairs has two queen and a futon and the third bedroom with river view has a king bed with a futon.

Home has hardwood flooring in most areas with granite counters, large kitchen with all modern amenities.

Home has Wi-Fi internet, DVD player with DVD movie library in living room.

Home has soundproof game room with regulation ping pong table for additional entertainment.

Home is handicap accessible with large covered side ramp allows you to enter side door of home and downstairs bathroom has handicap shower.

The best views are in the dinning room, family room, game room and from 3rd bedroom upstairs which faces river. The upstairs of home has a retro 60s feel with all wood paneling with that original cabin feel.

Property is very large. It has a large flat paved driveway with areas to park up to 8 cars or trucks and room on grassy area next to garage for trailer or boat or ?

We do not have a dock however we have a wonderful set of stairs that take you right down to the river. Our section of the river is more shallow which is great for swimming and wading. The deep section of the river is on the other side of the river near highway 38.Two Kayaks available for you entire stay, It takes two people to carry them up or down the stairs to river . Nice little getaway

Thank you for the nice stay! We lucked out and the sun came out for a while. The family loved the ping pong and fishing. There was plenty of room for all of us and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and utensils. There is some really beautiful antique furniture too.

The Scottsburg river house

We had a great time! The river was nice to swim in and the kayaks were a lot of fun too. The house is beautiful and clean and we were all comfortable and enjoyed ourselves.

An Amazing Stay

We came down and spent 4 nights and had a blast. The Ping Pong table was a much needed activity after a long day on the Kayaks. The Owner was super responsive to all the questions that we have and will be back soon. Thanks again for the great stay!

Great getaway!

We had a wonderful time. The house was cozy, the area was nice and private and the ping pong table was a HUGE hit! We played most of the weekend. Hope to stay at this property again in the summer.

Great place to stay!

We enjoyed the fishing although got no bites. The house was immaculate, very clean and organized. We really enjoyed playing cards and games there at the big dining table. The bbq was small but worked for us well. The beds are very comfy and the shower pressure and kind of shower was very nice. Thank you for having us.

Wonderful Waterfront Home

From check in to check out we loved this property and the property manager. It was clean, looked just like the pictures, comfortable and just what we needed for our college tours. The lakeside stairs and landing were so cool and the trees around the property so pretty. It was quiet and right in the middle of the two campuses we needed to see. Great place!!!!

We Had a Great Family Time!

Everyone in our party (7 people) really enjoyed the home! It was very cozy and comfortable. Plenty of room for people to spread out. I loved the different sitting areas where people could do their own thing, from reading and playing games, to TV watching, to eating and visiting, playing games (ping pong and bean bags). The view from the dining area was AMAZING, so peaceful and serene! The location was great for us, it was away from town (we like that) but only 17 miles from restaurants and things to do. Overall, we loved vacationing here and we are already hoping we can come back!

Last Minute Stay made for Relaxing Days

The pictures do not do this rental justice. It was much more comfortable than I would have guessed. The views from the deck and sunroom made for lovely mornings and evenings. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would have loved to make it longer. The boys caught 10 fish and found the most success while using the kayaks.

Weekend family getaway

Family had fun with the ping-pong right away, beds were very comfy. Liked the fact that the kitchen was fully stocked with all the needs for creating meals... so many places have very few cooking pots/ cookie sheets/ etc! Nice large dining table with room for us to eat while also working on a jigsaw puzzle (our standard getaway activity.) We visited the nearby Elk sanctuary and were pleased to see the herd. Appreciated the accessibility features.

Not what we expected.

Online doesn't have photos of the kitchen and we found out why real fast. The kitchen is very old and outdated. There is a yellow piece of paper with handwritten sign on the dishwasher telling guest to hand wash their dishes. I found the ceiling exhaust fan for kitchen filthy and rusted. Upon entering downstairs bathroom I found several long dark hairs in the shower. The king bed upatairs we also discovered more of the long dark hairs. The fireplace is just for looks so don't let that foil you. The entire house needs updating and a good deep cleaning. I do have say the owner called me regarding my concerns and I am waiting for a refund as he promised. If the house was cleaned properly and updates it would be a nice spot on the river. Wish I could include photos.

The host was amazing to work with and quick to respond. There was an issue with the cleanliness upon arrival and he went above and beyond on fixing the problem. Over all it was a very cute house with lots of room for the 7 of us. We loved waking up in the mornings to watch the fog over the river and the tree line. Very beautiful and quiet area.

Well cared for and clean older updated home. Fishing and kayaking for kids 6-12 was perfect with nearly no current. Had so much fun with the ping pong table. House was very spacious with beautiful, old decor. Plenty of games and a variety of books. Loved our stay and would definitely come back.

Delightfully relaxing

We had such a wonderful time in such a relaxing and peaceful location. The cabin was comfortable and very roomy. The decor was homey and its location on the Umpqua River made it just a perfect getaway. We had a great time in the river on the kayaks and the water was perfect for swimming. The only thing we would recommend is that perhaps the owner might consider adding a floating dock so that it’s easier to get in and out of the water. But truly, we made do without it and spent a lot of time in the water. We’ll definitely be planning another vacay at this property.

Beautiful riverfront seclusion and well appointed vacation home.

The property itself is tucked away on a private bend of the Umpqua River Just 20 minutes from the coast. Great place to bring family and friends. The owner has thought of everything! From 3 years old to 55 in our group found great things to do including kayaking, ping pong, board games and lots of outdoor fun. Master host with great communication and easy to work with. My wife and I and 11 year old son love the outdoors and our favorite spot in Oregon is this location.

Why they chose this property

Very rare setting ultimate fishing, hunting, hiking, kayaking and very spacious location . A real must see !!!!

What makes this property unique

Very close to river, large yard tons of parking and each room of the home is extremely large with forced heat in air on the main floor, whats else could anyone ask for oh yes we have cable tv and wifi and fast internet also.
