Great big house with tons of space to live and entertain at thge same time. The sports bar, above garage setup is absolutely perfect for teens to have some space. The communication with the ownership was top notch. It's a three-minute drive to the Almanor West Beach. I would definitely stay in this place again. Can't wait!!

Great space for our family of four, dog and my mom. Communication with the host was great and responsive. Note, if you bring a dog, know that you can’t take it to the lake space in the community. But we found a great beach just 5 minutes south called Marvin Alexander Beach where dogs are allowed that was great for all of us. We loved our stay here. The only negative, to no fault of the hosts, is it appeared that the guests who stayed here before us put away dirty dishes without washing them before they left (visible food particles/grease). We dealt with, not a big deal.

Beautiful Setting

Had a great time at the property. Plenty of room. Great recreation opportunities - Golfing and hiking. Chester is a fun little town. Not all the crowds you get in many other areas

Great base camp!

We wanted this general location as it provided fairly easy access to Lake Almanor, Lassen, and everything in between. Didn’t disappoint, it was great. Even with 10 humans and a large doggo, never felt cramped, there was room around the giant dining table for everyone to have meals together, kitchen was pretty well stocked with the items you need to make food 2-3 times a day for that crew.

Great family vacation house!

This house was perfect for our family of 10, which included grandparents, parents, preteens and a dog! Wonderful location with complimentary access to beach and boat launch. Close to golf course too! Loved spending time on the deck in the mornings and evenings. Host was also very responsive and took care of needs that arose very promptly. Highly recommend!

Lake Almanor stay

The place is great, has everything you need, and a short drive to the lake. A previous guest broke the sofa bed and evolve let us know less than 24 hrs before which was disappointing since a guest was staying there. Also turned out Lassen was closed so be sure to double check that.

A very nice property

The house design was great. We had the misfortune of being there during a heat wave so the lack of AC was keenly felt. A few fans throughout the house would have helped a lot. There was an issue with towels and the fridge struggled to keep cool when we transferred stuff from coolers to fridge (they were cool, shouldn't have been an issue). Overall, great location, accommodating host. Would rent again!

Nice Location -lots of room

Easy drive to beach and to Chester. Easy check-in. Very clean and everything we needed in the kitchen was there. Separate room over garage w/bath was nice for a quiet retreat. Futon in that room, however, could use an update. Metal frame combined with a thin futon was really uncomfortable. We ended up putting futon mattress on the floor. The beds in the main house were fine~~ 3 bathrooms were great for a large group. And our dog was very relaxed there. We appreciated that our pet could join us.

Nice , after you get up the stairs

Quiet and clean. Amenities could have been stocked better. No coffee filters , sponge at kitchen sink and bathroom supplies were sparse. Hot water ran out too early ? Was staying up here for work , didn’t have time to go and get essentials that should have been offered. Other than that it was a nice place to sleep / shower. Loft over garage was really nice for over flow guests , maybe next time .

The place was very nice. It was very clean. Kitchen was small. Bathrooms were also small. The fenced yard was basically a fenced area on the hill and a dog could sneak under the fence without digging. One other issue is the steep winding driveway, which could be problematic for backing a boat down, which you have to do. Backing a boat up is much more difficult. And lots of steep stairs in and out of the house. However, we enjoyed our 3 days there. The private boat ramp with dock is no more than a mile away. The hosts are great. We would book again.
