Chain Lake Gem
What a great place for a family vacation. The house is beautiful and very well appointed with all the key amenities. It was very comfortable for our family of 5 with 2 kids over 20 and a big teen. We had our own fishing boat and spent a lot of time fishing or boating down to the rope swing beach to swim. The fishing was great although there was an algae bloom which made the water a little murky for swimming. We still swam though, it was fine. Our only challenge was the door code that didn’t work when we arrived, but after connecting to the wifi (no cell service) the host responded immediately and help us out. We also struggled with the stove as it was an induction cook top which can be tricky to cook on. If the pot isn’t in exactly the right spot the burner shuts off. Mom was cursing every meal she cooked. The BBQ is a little sketchy as some of the knobs don’t work. Finally the master bed is extremely soft. If you don’t do well in an unsupportive mattress you will likely struggle. We were there when it was 36 degrees Celsius and the house stayed cool most of the day only heating up in the late afternoon when the sun hit the floor to ceiling windows in the living area. Once it started to cool off outside the screened windows let the cool air in and we were fine. Never too hot. Hopefully we can stay again next year.
