Great stay at Solara in Canmore

This was a large, clean and comfortable unit equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location was great and parking ideal. The booking process was easy and friendly and communication was very efficient. We would not hesitate to stay here again if we were ever in Canmore in the future.

This property is perfectly located in Canmore. We were able to walk down the beautiful trails to restaurants and enjoy the view. Just a short drive to Banff for the day, and we loved the Grassi Lakes Trail just outside of town. The property had everything we needed to cook our meals on site, and was comfortable for our family of 4 to stay in.The pool and hot tub in the building were a big hit and great way to end the day. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We got upgraded free of charge, and it was fantastic. The only thing we didn't get to use was the BBQ, only because the propane was empty. But the private hot tub made up for it. Would easily stay here again.

Loved the room, the kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub and pool were nice. The host was excellent at keeping in touch and gave great directions on where to park and how to get into our room. We were a little confused on which elevator to use to get to our suite, but figured it out. The rate was terrific for the busiest time of the year. Loved our stay and would definitely book again!

The property definitely has some nice things. It was very quiet, which was extremely nice. If you're willing to walk a little bit, the location was nice because parking is tough.Our biggest challenge was the kitchen. Besides the dishes and the coffee pot and microwave everything else look like it came from a yard sale. In addition, there is a distinct smell which may be of a dog that was there before us.We tried to convey our concerns about the kitchen to the host and things did not go well which culminated in multiple emails and i had to end a phone call with the host because they wouldn't listen that we were at dinner and did not want to be further disrupted.

Thank you for your review. We agree this was not the right match, although perhaps for different reasons. For future guests: the first concern was the location/proximity of neighbouring homes, which is shown and described throughout the listing. The next concern was that the coffee mugs didn’t match. They intentionally don’t! Everyone can choose a favourite, knows which coffee is theirs, and we replace one mug instead of an entire set when one breaks. Nevertheless, when we learned matching mugs were important, we delivered them promptly. There were no reported deficiencies with cleanliness, maintenance or kitchen functionality. The cookware mentioned is durable Wear-Ever cookware, intentionally kept because we believe perfectly functional things don’t belong in landfills simply because they aren’t new. We promptly called, apologized, and offered a full refund if the guest preferred to relocate. The guest stayed all three nights and later sought compensation through VRBO. Photos provided to support the concerns included the mismatched mugs; VRBO determined compensation wasn’t warranted. Rockies Rentals manages real homes with personality, cared for by real humans who respond quickly when something isn’t right. If matching mugs matter, we’ll bring them. Great little place in Canmore. Pool was nice and the hot tub is huge. Unit was clean and modern. Kitchen was well stocked. Good location. The outdoor windows do face a courtyard containing the HVAC equipment which makes some and prevented me from opening the windows in the evening.

You should know some things before you reserve this. The place is kind of thrown together - a wall was added that splits a window, for example. The furniture is cut-rate (the cheaply built sofa bed wrecked my back, and was coming apart). The place looks good in photos, but has the personality and warmth of a glass of room-temp tap water. The instructions for checking in were incorrect, and after we figured out where the hidden elevator was, we helped three other couples who were lost over the next two days. No one works at the front desk as far as we could tell; the sign says "Contact your owner if you need anything." The whole place has the feel of absentee owners paying a rental company to manage it for as little cost as possible. It's not horrible, but it's mediocre at best.
