On the Aspotogan peninsula in the quiet community of East River, this beautiful renovated three bedroom two bathroom ancestral home awaits your arrival; eager to offer you a launch pad to the many sites Nova Scotia has to offer or provide you with a romantic getaway or family vacation.
The property is situated on a corner lot between the communities of Chester and Hubbards, a short 10 minute drive in either direction. East River is 55 mins west of Stanfield international airport and 44 minutes from the city of Halifax. A picturesque drive along the Lighthouse Route will lead you to Peggy's Cove and will take a little longer than the drive along the 103 Highway but will not disappoint as it offers beautiful views of the shoreline and several quaint villages. The Annapolis Valley is 1hr. away and is dotted with series of wineries before providing access to the highest and lowest tides in the world in the Bay of Fundy.
A drive west along the Lighthouse Route, will take you past the famous Oak Island into Mahone Bay and onward to Lunenburg, a World UNESCO town and home to the famous Bluenose sailing schooner.
Ocean Salome is located steps from two beaches, each beach is a short stroll down the country road that wanders along the shoreline.
The rails to trails hiking/biking trail is just 1 km away. You can access the trail that spans from Lunenburg to Halifax, nature at its best. Castle Rock, the local lookout can be found on this trail offering sweeping views of the Mahone Bay and its islands. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it on top of Castle Rock. You can't beat the views.
The primary bedroom located on the main floor offers a queen bed with high-end linens as well as an electric fireplace and small sitting area to relax, and maybe enjoy your book at the end of your day. The plush towels, bath robes and slippers will bring added comfort to your stay.
The 3 pc ensuite bathroom offers a spacious shower and laundry area with new stacking W/D unit. Laundry detergent and cleaning supplies are located in this area along with ironing board, iron, hair dryer and other items.
The upper level has two bedrooms and a three-piece bathroom with a claw foot soaker tub and handheld shower. Completing the second level is a queen bedroom with a vaulted ceiling and ocean views and plenty of space for storage. The second bedroom has a bunkbed with a double mattress on the lower level. This kid friendly bedroom has plenty of storage, games, puzzles and crafting items for the young ones pleasure. We also offer a little tykes bed, a playpen and booster seat for the wee ones. A gate is available and can be installed for their protection in the bedroom doorway, as this room is close to the top of the stairs.
A modern well stocked kitchen with a propane stove/oven, stainless steel fridge with c/w dispenser and ice maker, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher, along with ample supply of cutlery, dishes, glasses and cookware as well as plenty of small appliances and spices for your cooking pleasure.
In the living room you can watch the game or enjoy your favourite shows on our 60 inch smart TV. Although there is no cable TV, there are plenty of popular pre loaded apps for your viewing pleasure. There is also a stereo and a bluetooth outdoor speaker for streaming your favourite music during your stay.
Our new outdoor patio with pergola, boasts a 4 person hot tub with ocean views, a wood-burning fire pit, comfortable Adirondack chairs as well as a cosy entertainment and lounging area to enjoy some appetizers and/or cocktails. Outdoor blankets for cooler nights are available.
We also provide beach towels and toys, along with a wagon to haul your needs. There are four kayaks and four adult lifejackets in the shed along with some bikes, beach chairs, umbrella, sunshade tent and coolers for your use.
The exterior home has security cameras and an exterior door locking system. There is also a generator in case of power outages and an EV charging station. Our house also contains a CO detector and glass break detector.
Central vac, cleaning supplies, extra toiletries, paper towel, storage containers and food wrap are all included.
We have one small locked room upstairs that is secured for our personal items please respect this area of our privacy.
