Check-in was no problem. Kitchen was clean, amenities were fine. It was nice to have a toaster! We never found oven mitts or hot pads so we had to improvise but nothing that wasn’t easily fixed.

Not a good experience. I have never left a less-than-glowing review on VRBO, so this is a first. Peeling paint, dead bugs in bath and on window sills, missing towel bar in the bathroom, and stark feel to the place (I counted at least 6 nails in the wall that looked like they may have held a picture at some point). This place needs a DEEP clean. It is advertised as sleeping 6 but we could only see two double beds (two adults in our group could share a bed, but two could not). I contacted the host many times over the weekend trying to find out where our extra person should sleep, but no response . I tried VRBO messaging, email, and even the phone number provided in the email, but that number is out of service. Finally, on our last night, he responded at 11 pm that there was an air mattress in a closet. We had gone to bed an hour earlier so didn't see this message until we were checking out the next morning. (I searched every closet that morning and did not see an air mattress, only comforters. He says it's there and I missed it. I'm skeptical...). In any case, because he wouldn't respond to my many messages, our fourth person had to sleep on the couch during our two-night stay. I should add that the communication issues we faced were not restricted to this weekend. I contacted the host two times before our stay began with another question ("is this an upstairs or downstairs unit?").and he never answered those either.

Booked for out of town family

I booked this space at the last minute for my sister's family because it is only a few blocks from my house and they were coming into town for our mother's funeral. I was tied up with other funeral arrangements, but my brother-in law told me that the place was very clean and had everything they needed: TV, coffee, comfortable beds. There was a cute market across the street. It worked perfect for our needs! Thanks.
