Perfect for a UP Vacation

A UP vacation isn't about pampered luxury but about getting immersed in local atmosphere IMHO. This basic small property was ideal for a first time trip to the Deer Park area with easy access, central location and all amenities you'd expect in remote lodging. I had the privilege of meeting the property hosts who were gracious and welcoming far beyond what's typical or expected. Functional appliances for meals, great heater for cold nights and sliding screen door for bug-free fresh air. A special perk was use of a canoe on site for a peaceful morning paddle on placid Muskellonge Lake, no tickets or reservation required... just the serendipity of a calm morning for looking glass smooth water. Definitely 5-stars for basic accommodations. The only negative comment (just so you know I didn't get paid to write this review) is that the mattress of the main bed had noticeable depressions in the foam making it a little hard to get comfortable but still slept great after time in the fresh UP air and long walks on the easy-access shoreline of Lake Superior.
