Beautiful Mavillette Beach is minutes away with the best walks at low tides. Port Maitland Beach also provides incredible low tide walks with just a 15 minute drive away. Tim Horton's, groceries, Sips Cafe, fresh lobster retail, bank, post office, hardware store in nearby Meteghan. Memories waiting to be made.

The house was great and the views were spectacular. The house also had a lot of amenities that made for an easy stay.That being said, the host was staying in an RV just a few feet from the house which undermined the sense of privacy we had expected. We would definitely recommend the stay, but just know that it may not be totally private.

We absolutely loved hosting this lovely family, the matriarch & patriarch were gems. We do indeed live in our RV on the property, which faces away from the home. We stay quietly in our area, allowing guests the full use of the 17 acres and the home. This is our primary home, one we so graciously extend to our guests from near & far. Not only does this allow us to do this, but to quickly respond to ANY issues that may arise - such as when the fire dept showed up at 2 a.m. when guests were smoking in the house, causing the monitored alarm system to activate & did not answer the door to the fire fighters, or when the well water pump decide to stop working. We give all guests complete privacy to interact or not. As you attested, we have a lovely home, that we’ve highly invested in, and as both my husband & I are retired military Veterans with Occupational Stress Injuries from our Service to Country, we want to ensure the safe use of our Forever Home. Safe travels home to your families.

This was one of the best VRBO experiences we’ve had. The hosts were incredibly responsive, accommodating, and genuinely helpful from beginning to end.The oceanfront home was beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The sunrises and sunsets were absolutely spectacular and became a highlight of our stay.Every detail had been carefully considered. The home was exceptionally well organized and intentionally stocked with everything we could possibly need. From the kitchen to the little extras that make a stay feel effortless, nothing was overlooked. We truly wanted for nothing.If you’re looking for a peaceful, well-appointed oceanfront getaway in an incredibly beautiful area of Nova Scotia with outstanding hosts, we would highly recommend this property. The people all around were so friendly. We would happily stay here again.

This home was amazing from the view, comfort, so many extras from the host! Spacious , lots of information for surrounding amenities , games room, kids roomsSuch a perfect venue for a get together. The kitchen was stocked with anything you could think of which included a large dinning table for our gathering Beds were super comfy and overall cozy feel. This cottage is the most incredible place. The house is amazing, in every detail. We were so impressed with how clean, organized, well-decorated and extremely comfortable it is. The views are breath taking from everywhere you look. The host, Beverly, was a delight to deal with. So responsive and helpful, providing us with several tips about the area, local cuisine and places to visit. My family and friends enjoyed every second of the long weekend and we can’t wait to come back for more. THANK YOU!!!!

This home is spectacular. Incredibly well appointed. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating. Everyone that stayed commented on the cleanliness. A little remote, but worth it for the million dollar views!

Stunning home with fabulous views!!

OMG this home was such a stunner! We arrived after dark because of the ferry ride, but when we arrived, the house had subdued lighting, relaxing music and some essential oils going. We both walked in and said "Wow, Oh my god"! And it was still dark, so we couldn't see the view, but we could hear it. The master was so comfortable and there was far more amenities and supplies than we used, but it is definitely my favorite VRBO I have stayed in. Owners really, really go that extra mile and did lots of thoughtful little things to make our stay amazing. Absolutely fantastic stay! All the stars!!!

We sure are pleased as punch when guests truly appreciate the love & attention we try to give them during their stay. We treat our guests the way we appreciate being treated as well. June & her family were amazing guests, I couldn't have asked for more than the clean state they left our home in. They even did a load of laundry/towels before they left. You'd never know there were two dogs in the house. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend June as a guest & would welcome them back any time! June's ratings are 5 star in all categories, it just didn't work very well trying to do it in on my cell phone.

We have been renting vacation homes for over 15 years, and hands down, this was the most incredible house we have ever stayed in. The views are breathtaking; we never got tired of just standing outside, looking at the water/cliffs. The house is stocked with every imaginable thing you could possibly want -- from beach towels, a cooler, spices galore, etc. Beds super comfortable and loved that every bedroom had its own bathroom. Felt like a real home, not a rental. Beverly was beyond fantastic as a host. From the welcome basket of goodies to going above and beyond to provide us with info about the area. Super responsive to my pre-arrival questions; simply an incredible host who wants her guests to be happy and comfortable. We enjoyed our daily excursions to different sights in the area, but nothing beat coming back to this magnificent home. Don't know if we will ever be back in the area, but would not hesitate to stay here again. In fact, sorry we couldn't box up the house and take it (and Beverly) with us on future vacations!

I'm not sure if I have enough adjectives to rave about this property! Upon entering the front door we knew this was something special and entering each space continued to validate that thought. The view is spectacular and can be seen from almost every room in the house. The pictures don't captivate the beauty of every detail that can only be seen in person. Everything you need ...and more.. is available for you. The host is very generous with amenities.The kitchen is enormous and has EVERYTHING you'll ever need. A separate coffee bar area is a real treat! Each bedroom is beautiful with a focus on comfort and relaxing with private baths. If traveling with children, the most adorable bunk room awaits! Beverly is the perfect host. We had a cancelled ferry and could not arrive on the first day. She was quick with responses, provided very helpful suggestions with things to see, restaurants to try, times of tides for beach walking, turning on the lights for our late arrival, a welcome basket, and more. I've been renting homes for many years and by far she was the Best host in the Best house. Can't say enough about our experience with this rental. LOVED it!

We were a group of 40 something year olds staying for a friend’s bachelorette weekend and the accommodations far exceeded our expectations! Beverly was very responsive and super easy to communicate with. The space was perfect…every small detail was thought of including such things as having lamps and shelves near beds, cozy throw blankets for lounging and tissues around the home. The kitchen was well stocked with every type of pot, pan, cooking gadget or utensil you would ever need. Upon entering, you could smell how clean the space was and it was evident that great pride is taken in cleaning the space. The beds were comfy, the windows allowed for natural light and beautiful views and the grounds were wonderfully kept. There were helpful instructions provided for recycling/garbage disposal as well as suggestions for local attractions. If you are lucky enough to stay here, you certainly won’t be disappointed! It would be a delight to return someday!!

We had a wonderful stay at Beverly and Barry’s house. The view is incredible and the house is so well equipped. We felt very at home and spent lots of time watching the ocean from the windows, walking on the beaches, and exploring local shops and restaurants. We really appreciated all of Beverly’s tips on places to go as well as the generous welcome basket. We would happily go back and stay again!

We are Bev & Barry, 2 Canadian Navy Vets (I, Bev, went on to serve in our national police force). We moved here from Victoria, BC having bought our final Forever Home in 2022, sight unseen - only having seen it from a video. We were looking for a private place with acreage overlooking water....BOY did we find the place! We love hosting as it is a PRIVILEGE & honour to live in this home, view & location, one we decided to share with others as it is too beautiful not to. We are grateful that we can provide a venue for families and friends to create their own memories to look back on, to see a new place they might've never seen before, and to walk away with that same sense of awe that we have every day. We've immersed ourselves into the community around us, I've learned to quilt with a group of amazing Acadian women, we line dance every Thursday night, we took up golfing at the local course, and I've also taken up learning how to play the Ukulele with another great group of local people. We both have 'injuries' from our Service to Country, and wanted to find a place of Peace & Calm in our retirement. In the first few months, when I couldn't find my husband anywhere in the house, I knew he had taken a lawn chair & his cup of coffee to just sit on the edge of the property overlooking the ocean. This place has become our MEDICINE. It has indeed become our Forever Home. Our hope is that everyone walks away with the same zen feeling we get from being on this Land, overlooking this incredible body of Niibi (water). Medicine & Memories.

Why they chose this property

We were looking for a quiet pace of life, one that was serene and was about The Land & The Water. It is in a rural setting in the Acadian south shore of Nova Scotia. Everything about the area is 'quaint'. The people, the shops, the atmosphere, the music, the pace of life, the great sense of community. We had absolutely NO idea about the area we bought our home in. We fell in love with the house & its views of the ocean from the video and made THE biggest leap of faith that this would not only be our home, but our community too. We were not disappointed. We knew the house had not been lived in for some time, and definitely needed a LOT of TLC, paint & renovations. We drove down our long driveway, without even walking into the house we had purchased & had never seen in person, we walked to the edge of the property, standing on the 90' cliffs....we knew! Whatever the house behind us held in store for us, we were prepared to roll up our sleeves again for our next phase of life. We soon discovered the beautiful nearby Mavillette Beach, where the tide went out & exposed her beautiful sandy ocean floor. The Cape St. Mary lighthouse is just down our coast, and you can hear her mournful cry when the fog sets in. During the winter months you can see the parade of lights at night of the lobster fisherman. During the day, you'll catch the sail past of fishing boats as they make their way to the wharfs with their catch. And although we are in a very private location, it does not take long to drive to find a hardware store, a grocery store, pharmacy, coffee shops, ATM's, farmers market with fresh fruit & veggies, corner store that has just about everything you need on a last minute's notice, quaint restaurants, or that place to buy fresh lobster & other seafood to cook back at the house. Other beaches, lighthouses, coastal communities are waiting to be discovered. Come for a visit, create new memories, and leave with the peace & serenity it has to offer.

What makes this property unique

You might need to sit down for this list. It is endless. Right off the top.....that VIEW!! And it doesn't matter just how many days you are here (3.5 years for us so far), it NEVER gets old. You might think it's just 'geography', but it's not. The 90' cliffs along the coast line are incredible. The ocean shows her might OR her embrace every day, you just never know what she's going to show you from one day to the next. There are days where the size (& the sounds) of the waves make you feel like the 90' cliffs are just not high enough. Then she shows her softer side, with waveless waters & a great sense of calm. OK!!! The SUNSETS!!!! SUNRISES!!!! I currently have 70,255 photos in my phone, and I can guarantee the majority of the photos are of sunsets & sunrises, and everything in between. The ever changing vistas are difficult to capture, even with photographs. Catching them in person is THE best. Next on this list is the Peace & Serenity you get from stopping to breathe and take it all in. Whether it's from the 2nd floor library wing-back chairs overlooking the vast ceiling of the living room, into the ocean beyond; or the custom made window box seating in the dining room, complete with custom made cushion seating & pillows. Curl up with your morning coffee & a book, watch the sunrise and the ocean - steps away. There is also a perfect reading platform in the Kidz Zone, with tons of cushions and throw blankets, with another perfect view of the ocean through 2 large windows. On a beautiful sunny day, sit on the ocean-facing deck, with the sofa-like patio furniture in the shade of the expanse of the roof line, or pull up a lawn chair to bask in the sun on the sunnier parts of the deck. You choose, your Peace, your serenity.
